IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO STAR RATING, I WOULD. My ear has been bothering me for two days, today being the third day. It feels clogged and muffled, I feel like I can't hear. This is the reason for my visit at this urgent care today. I am 8 months pregnant and the workers at the office today were aware of that as I wrote it down on the sheet that I completed upon my arrival. I came in today at 9:06 am, 6 mins after opening time. I was the fourth person in line and my name was finally called a little bit after 10:30 am. The nurse or whatever she is took me into the room and said, "Oh, you're very pregnant. If you're expecting to get an ear lavage today, that won't happen." She went on to say her hand was hurting and she could not hold the metal syringe to be able to do an ear lavage for me. I had been waiting for over a hour only for her to tell me this, UNBELIEVABLE. UNPROFESSIONAL. WHY on earth would they tell me this after waiting patiently for OVER A HOUR? My feet are incredibly swollen, I am so sore. Do you really think I enjoy spending my Sunday morning at an urgent care 8 months pregnant waiting just to get an ear lavage because I am so uncomfortable? Do you really think I want to spend the time to type out this review? ABSOLUTELY NOT. This lady also said Facey in mission hills has an urgent care I could go to. Don't you think I'm fully aware of that? I WAS IN SIMI VALLEY. Again, I am 8 months pregnant (something these people were aware of). I came to this office bc it's close. If I wanted to go to Facey in mission hills, I would have. You knew you were the only nurse there and your hand didn't just start hurting out of nowhere. An "I'm sorry" isn't going to fix it. I am not a mean or confrontational person and if it was someone else, you would have been yelled at on the spot. I am so upset. Not only that, but they charged my co-pay beforehand only to ask me if I could come back tomorrow. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I work, first of all. Second of all, I AM UNCOMFORTABLE. NOT ONLY THAT, but I don't even believe the girl at the front desk knew how to process a refund because they were talking about how the girl who works tomorrow could do it. Can't get the help I need, can't even get my money back. Is there something these people can and know how to do? I would much rather go somewhere else than come back to this place and experience this type of unprofessional treatment again. Ridiculous. Never in my life have I had to leave a yelp review, until today. I left this office crying of frustration. I will never go back here again. Typing all of this out as I am now waiting to be seen by a doctor at Facey in mission hills. Thank you for your service, Med Center. I was at the Med Center on March 9, 2020 and saw Dr. Mundwiller. Thanks to her quick and aggressive treatment with antibiotics, I feel better than I have been in over 2 months. The antibiotics helped clear up a sinus infection I've had since early January 2020, painful breathing was better after 36 hours. As of 4 days ago, I was able to eliminate 4 BP meds that had been added to reduce my blood pressure since January and it too is almost back to normal. Thank you soooo much for the help!! It feels great to have some energy again. My regular Dr.'s office has been challenged because of staffing/retirement issues. It's great to have an alternative. read more

I went in for urinary issues, was tested and came back negative on a dip test and culture for a UTI. Took the antibiotics because she said they sometimes come back wrong, went back with worse symptoms and tested negative again. You'd think she would tell me it probably isn't a UTI at that point (since a culture and dip test came back negative twice), or she would at least prescribe a different antibiotic or look further into my condition, but instead, she gave me the same exact antibiotic. I took it out of desperation to feel relief from my symptoms, since she said she was sure I must have a UTI. I talked to her for maybe 5 minutes total in both appointments before I was rushed out. I voiced my concerns that it wasn't a UTI, but instead was told repeatedly it was and wasn't given any insight as to what else it could be. In the month since then, I saw specialists and doctors who all said I certainly don't/didn't have a UTI. On top of that, I developed C-Diff from being on antibiotics for so long, and had to go through extensive pain and discomfort for more weeks because of the doctor at Med Center's bad diagnosis and bad prescription. I normally don't do reviews, but when you're in charge of people's health and safety, you should be paying attention to that and not just rushing them out and possibly threatening their life by handing out prescriptions. read more

OMG! I just brought my daughter in for her ankle, and the entire staff was so compassionate. they were courteous and helpful with getting my insurance and copay straightened out. The X-ray tech was so nice. i wish they could be my primary doctors. It made a horrible painful situation for my daughter worth dealing through the pain. the front desk was awesome. i know with my daughter being in soccer will have to return often. So glad they are here for us when in need read more

Insane wait times. Insanely slow service. Patients go in and come out an hour later. 3+ hour wait to see a doctor after being told 45 mins to 1 hr when checking in. After 90 minutes we were told 15 - 20 mins more, which turned into over 3 hours in the end. The front desk staff should be more honest about wait times and should provide updated estimates. read more

I was there the other night, they were super busy with all the flu symptoms going around. The person at the front desk was very welcoming, caring and attentive to my needs for my son. She made my son and I feel very comfortable. We were able to get in and out very quickly even though they were super busy. The Nurse and Doctor we met with were very informative and professional and answered every question I had. I have never in all my life been so mistreated and for no reason. I took my 16 year old son to Med Center for a sports physical as I have been doing for the last few years. Our experiences there have been fine (nothing spectacular, but you don't need spectacular for a sports physical) up until today. There was no one at the front desk when we got there. So we signed in and waited. We were there for about 20 mins when I had to use the restroom. The restroom in the waiting room is locked so I went up to reception to ask for a key. Still no one was there so I rang the bell. No one showed up right away so I looked around for the restroom key, saw it, and reached over and took it. Apparently, as I was walking into the restroom someone finally came out from the back so I was told. However, they never asked if anyone was in need of assistance. When I came out from the restroom, still no one was at reception, so I put the restroom key back exactly where I had found it. At this point someone was standing at the counter waiting to be checked out. I sat down and continued to wait. At this point we had probably been waiting for 25-30 mins. After about 5 mins I got up again because I kept hearing the toilet running so I went up and got the keys from where I had put them to fix the toilet. I fixed the toilet and put the keys back and sat back down. I waited for another 5-10 mins. By this time I had to leave to take my daughter to another appointment, so I got up to ask if I could just pay for my son's physical and leave him there to take my daughter to her appointment. The man who had already been waiting to be checked out for now 15 mins was still waiting. I went to ring the bell again but when I went to do so I realized the bell had been moved clear away from the window. However, I found it and reached over and rang it. Someone comes from the back and asks me, "Why do you keep ringing the bell?" She seriously asked that. Not, "Hi! How can I help you?", not "I'm so sorry you had to wait! What can I help you with?" It was, "Why do you keep ringing the bell?" "Because I need assistance." I replied "Someone came out here and tried to help you but you went to the bathroom," said this woman who appeared to be someone of authority. I do believe she was the office manager because she continued with, "We have things to do." I kid you not she actually said that. "So do we." I answered "We are helping people in the back and have things to do and if you don't like it you can leave." I thought to fight back since I did nothing wrong and just wanted to know if I could pay for my sons physical now so that I could take my daughter to her appointment but I was too shocked to even go there and besides, Med Center is not the only Urgent Care Center in town. So, I said, "OK." and left. By the way, the man who had now been waiting to be checked out for 20 mins still had not been helped and as I was walking out he was still waiting to be checked out. My son and I left and drove a 1/2 block down the street to Simi Doctors Medical Center where we were treated with so much kindness and were accomodated right away. I asked the gal at the desk if I could pay and leave my son and it was told, "Of course, no problem" with a smile on her face. Don't believe the crap that because they're an Urgent Care Center they have cases that come in that need immediate attention. I'm sure that may be true, but this can't always be the case. Having worked at the front desk of an urgent care facility we ALWAYS had someone at the front desk in case of emergencies. This place obviously doesn't get much action or else they would know this. Med Center is run poorly and they do not care about the people who come in to be seen or even those who just need a sports physical. They are unkind, rude, and unaccomodating. There are many other Urgent Care centers that are more than happy to accomodate you and treat you kindly. This place simply doesn't care. read more

Great Urgent Care. The prices are very reasonable as I am a cash patient. Other urgent cares charge a lot more for an office visit. The girls at the front desk are always very pleasant and willing to help in anyway. The whole Med center staff is wonderful. I actually was seen on a day where a patient brought in a huge edible arrangements for the staff. I think everyone dreads having to use urgent care. My mom was visiting from Texas and had a flare up of a skin irritation. This was a pleasant surprise - from the wait that was no longer than a regular Dr to insurance and Medicare not being an issue. A "Hi Five" shout out for The Med Center, on Los Angeles Avenue and Sequoia Avenue. My nephew and great niece from Pennsylvania came for a five day visit . My great niece had a bad reaction to some relative's cats the first night they arrived. They gave her some Benadryl, but by very early the next morning, she was worse. My nephew called me from the hotel they were staying at for some direction. I called the Med Center and talked to the Manager, Denice Ruscigno, who said to come right over, and they would get her in immediately. I met my nephew and great niece, her eyes were almost closed shut. They took her right back..checked her out, gave her a shot, and a script for meds. We got her back to their hotel room, where she rested for that day, and was so much better the next day. Currently sitting in the ER with my boyfriend because this urgent care place did an EKG on him and decided it looked abnormal and he should rush to the ER. The ER did another EKG and the Dr said there is absolutely nothing wrong with him and the EKG looks completely fine and he shouldn't have been sent here. Total waste of time and now having to pay for this visit is ridiculous. Shouldn't be doing an EKG on someone if you don't know what you are doing and scare the crap out of people for no reason. read more

In Simi urgent cares charge $45 for a sports physical, I was unaware of this when we went. Glad they at least did a thorough exam, compared to physical day at the high schools. If you want a $25 exam go to the local chiropractic offices or your physician. read more

I chose this urgent care based on reviews as this is the kind of service I rarely use. Good choice. I arrived shortly after they opened and there was no one else in the waiting room. The receptionist was nice and I only waited about 5-10 minutes. The nurse who checked me in was very sweet, too. Then I expected a long wait for the doctor, but he came right in. Dr. Barr was very personable and kind and treated me based on his personal experience and knowledge and not simply on the result of the test they ran. He spent time giving me his advice. I was in and out in under 30 minutes with good advice, an rx, and feeling like I'd been treated with care and respect. read more

I've been here three time in as many years. Once for worker's comp (I got accidentally tackled by a young person who was running for lunch- I was fine). My "official" doctor is a drive away and Dr. Schnare is a compassionate, sweet, kind and very thorough doctor who graciously takes the time and explain your illness and your medicine to you and ever so gently reminds you how to take care of yourself when you are ill. The staff are wonderful and efficient. The nurses are caring and attentive -"You might be more comfortable if you sit on the chair (instead of the exam table), it has a back on it." First class experience and I was in and out in less time than I usually wait just to see a doctor. They take many different insurance plans and they don't charge outrageous rates as I have experienced with some other local doctors. read more

I just went in over the past weekend with a terrible sore throat. It was like 30-45 mins before they closed I just happened to be in the area and stopped in cause I couldn't take the pain any longer. There was no one else in the waiting room but I was still expecting to wait awhile before being seen by a doctor. I was seen very quickly the doctor saw me and was extremely nice. He wrote me a prescription and I was done! In and OUT! I could not believe it. The last thing you want when you feel awful is to sit around for no reason! Now a few days later I feel like I am getting back to my normal self. The doctor also called me yesterday to check in on me which I thought was very nice. The number came up as blocked on my cell so I didn't get a chance to talk to him directly because I let it go to voice mail. I would go back if I was ever in the area and needed to be seen by a doctor! read more

Went here after hurting my foot. Everyone was nice enough while I was there. I was told by the PA that they couldn't tell from the X-ray if I had broke my foot or not because my foot was too swollen but that a doctor or X-ray technician would call me with the results first thing in the morning. They sent me home with a boot, crutches, and instructions to ice and elevate my foot. I waited to get a call and update... I called at 11 to follow up. I was told the doctor would call me right back. Called again at 1... and was told the same thing. Called back at 3 and was told yet again someone would call me back. The receptionist/front office lady called me back and said the doctors said as long as my foot was hurting I should wear the boot and use crutches and when it stopped hurting I didn't need them anymore. Really? That doesn't answer ANY questions or tell me anything about my injury. I was in extreme pain and couldn't walk or put any pressure on my foot at all. I knew something was wrong but apparently no one had the time to call me back and tell me what was going on. When the swelling and pain weren't getting any better I called and made an appointment with a podiatrist. Turns out I have a torn ligaments in my foot. The boot they gave me didn't support the injury I had at ALL. Thank goodness I followed my gut and didn't go with the "just wear the boot until your foot doesn't hurt anymore" advice. A doctor, physicians assistant, or X-ray technician should have called me. The fact the only "answer" I got was not only HORROBLE ADVICE but that it was from the front office (although I do appreciate her at least calling me back) is completely unacceptable and unprofessional when I was told specifically I would hear from a doctor or x-ray tech. If they didn't know what was wrong they should have told me to follow up with a doctor or recommended that I reach out to someone else. A torn ligament is a big thing to be wrong about when you tell someone to "just wear the boot and use the crutches until it doesn't hurt anymore" read more

I visited this Urgent Care yesterday. I paid $95 plus $20 for a strep test that was negative. Dr Hussein said there was some water build up in my left ear. She told me to get rest and plenty of fluids for the sore throat that I had. This morning I woke up with an massive ear ache. I went back and asked to get rechecked. There was no note in the chart about water build up in my ear so they wanted another $95 for me to get rechecked and get the medicine that I needed. This isn't right. read more

I got there around 10:30 and was done in an hour with a prescription for bronchitis. The Dr did not rush me and took time to answer questions and asked if there was anything else I needed. Yesterday was my first time at the facility and I was impressed with the professionalism and speed of my treatment. 1 hour from check in to check out, yet never feeling like they were in a rush to get me out. The PA, Dr. Coville, was kind, thorough and polite. The facility is across the street from my shop, so it's super convenient and competitively priced with traditional MD offices, who in my experience, usually treat patients like a cattle call - get 'em in, get 'em out. I have gone to The med center several times in the past 10 years for physicals for job placement. The staff is always friendly and professional. The doctors and nurses are always attentive and thorough. Last week I returned from Mexico with swollen feet and a rash. I went at 9am on a saturday when they opened. I was greeted by the freindly and compassionate receptionist, I was extremely distressed at my ailment, I waited less then 30 minutes to be seen by the doctor. Doctor thourouly examined my feet and listened to all of my discriptions of Symptons. I was given two prescriptions and advised to put my feet up and rest for etleast 24 hours. Within 24 hours on medication I experienced a 50% improvement, within 72 hours all symptons almost gone. I cannot express how thankiful I am that my condition was immedietly diagnosed and treated. I was able to return to work and most important once being comforted by the Physician and staff I didnt experience any more worry. I truly feel this Urgent care Med center exemplifies what patient care should be. read more

I gave this location a 2 only because the staff up front and nursing staff was very pleasant and attentive. Where I took issue was with the doctor that saw me. I'd had flu like symptoms for a week, but went in due to sinus pain that had lasted for 4 days. The doctor was in the room for about 2-3 minutes and smirked when I said I get I'd had the flu the previous week but I wasn't diagnosed. I'm not really one to see the doctor unless my symptoms or pain get to a boiling point. The doctor never asked about my pain level or where the pain was originating from, she touched my face a couple times and asked about any previous issues then advised she'd prescribe me with some antibiotics and was out the door. I had an almost identical experience the time before. It's understandable that they're busy, but being attentive goes a long way when your patients are in pain. Not that I'd hope to need to go back, but if I need urgent care services I won't be going here again. read more
