Liars and fraudsters. They started charging my account $25 per month but did not legally notify me…read more I went to this Oxnard main branch and they said they sent electronic notice. I had already opted out of electronic notification. So I withdrew all my money which they did pay and told them I wanted to close my 2 accounts there. They refused to close my accounts and kept charging me $25 per month. I then went to customer service number. After waiting 25 minutes I hung up. I then tried to make an appointment with a banker at the branch. The website started the process and then said "sorry, we can't complete your request at this time..." So I filed a complaint with the State of California Department of Financial Protection. I hope BofA gets fined and their licenses pulled. They are a predatory fraud.

Recently, I deposited a check into the bank, and was told funds would be available the next day. Not only were the funds NOT available, it was short approximately $300. When I called to inquire what the issue was, they couldn't be reached. I was told someone would call me back. It never happened! When I called back, I was told it was an ATM error and that they corrected it. They gave me access to the amount they originally shorted the deposit, but would hold the rest of the money for 7 days. The customer service manager told me that she had personally reduced the hold time from 7 days to 5 days. While in the bank website states, "Notice of Withdrawal. We reserve the right to require not less than 7 days' notice in writing before each withdrawal from an interest-bearing account other than a time deposit or demand deposit, or from any other savings account as defined by Regulation D. (The law requires us to reserve this right, but it is not our general policy to use it.) Withdrawals from a time account prior to maturity or prior to any notice period may be restricted and may be subject to penalty. See your notice of penalty for early withdrawal". - Community West Bank website The customer service manager stated that basically "since I don't usually have a high balance in my account they couldn't accommodate me". She made sure to tell me that since my balance is usually low basically it's my fault. When I called the bank's corporate office to complain & stated that there's NO real reason to hold the money AFTER they said it would be available. And that they could verify the funds from the issuing bank, the representative told me that banks DON'T call and verify funds anymore. Wtfrickola?!! This really ticks me off!! As an accountant I know that banks regularly will release funds after verifying the check. Perhaps the REAL ISSUE is I'm not a high depositor, well with this type of customer service, WHY the HECK would I be! Yet another lesson in where to deposit your money, in your pocket! Go to the bank that the person wrote the check from, yep even if the only branch that will cash it is a 45 minute drive that the check was drawn from. Because I have gone to the local OXNARD branch of that employer to cash a payroll check, only to be told that they DON'T have to honor any checks if they don't want to!?!? Perhaps my skin is a bit too Caramel, institutionalized racism at its finest! I have been a Premier America Credit Union customer since I was about 8 years old, and my mom even…read moreworked at one of their branches, so I had a lot of history and trust with this institution. Unfortunately, that trust has been seriously damaged. After a system update, I was locked out of online banking for about a week. Once I regained access, my mortgage showed as "Current," and the mortgage portal only displayed the normal payment amount due. There was no clear warning that I was past due, that a payment had been missed, or that two payments were required to bring the account current. I made the payment shown online and later discovered I had been reported 30 days late and charged a late fee. Premier America then pointed me to their mortgage servicer, DMI, even though Premier America's own dashboard had shown the loan as current. After months of dealing with this, Premier America acknowledged there was an issue involving their website, but I am still dealing with the consequences. In my experience, their online banking system is confusing, communication is poor, and there is very little accountability when something goes wrong. I have already started moving more of my banking to Chase. I would not recommend Premier America Credit Union for mortgage lending or servicing. Do your homework and consider other options.

I rarely have to go inside a branch to conduct banking business because my paycheck is direct…read moredeposited into my account and practically gone in mere moments to go to bills. Gone are the days of feeling hold hard cash in your hands, but mostly you simply wait for your money to magically be taken electronically. On the rare occasion I do need cold hard cash, I usually grab a quick $20 out of one of the 2 walk-up ATMs or go thru the drive-thru ATM. What's cool is that some Wells Fargo have ATMS where you can request your money in small denominations like ones or fives if you need it, but frustratingly, this branch doesn't have ATMs like that. So if I do need small bills, I have to make the trek inside the branch. The staff is always friendly here, but every time I've gone here in the past year - no matter what time - there's a line almost practically to the door. There never seems to be more than two or three tellers - and of course one of the tellers always seems to be occupied with a customer who has an exceptionally challenging case, so it's more like you're down to one teller. I saw one lady, waiting in line, throw her hands up, loudly say, "this is a joke" and walk out. All I can say is if you need to walk into the branch, be prepared for waiting in line awhile to be seen. Bring your phone and maybe play some candy crush while waiting in line. Or maybe you want to leisurely drink your coffee. And try your hardest to be patient.

The drive-thru ATM constantly has problems, and now both walk-up ATMs are out of service. To make matters worse, the doors to access the indoor ATMs are locked, leaving customers with a total of five ATMs but only one working--the outside machine. Unfortunately, I don't even feel comfortable using the outdoor ATM. The last time I did, my car got stuck trying to get in and out because of the busy location on Rose Avenue. It's unbelievable that something as basic as ATM access is such a recurring issue. The problems don't stop there. Customer service inside the branch has been disappointing as well. Between the lack of functioning ATMs and the poor service, I'm seriously considering switching banks. This location has been nothing but frustrating and is far below what I would expect from Chase.
