The one thing that could change for me is the fact that they don't need to check my insurance card every time I walk through the doors even when it's the very next day but I do understand why this is their practice and won't count it against them. The wait is shorter than an other doctor office I have been to however I still believe that could be shortened. I see Dr. Mitchell and he's great. He is a non-joking, straight to the point doctor which is what I want. I also don't care for a doctor that is just going to hold a conversation so I feel comfortable around him. He's my doctor and I don't need to know his family issues or dealings, I want to know about my health and let's move on to the next thing. This is the type of doctor Dr. Mitchell seems to be and I truly appreciate that. The exit is also painless and quick. The staff here is the most friendliest doctor office staff I have ever had to deal with and I believe it's because they love where they work and why wouldn't they? I love to call it my doctors office.

The Spaeths retired and Dr. Bulakowski took over and I remain a very happy customer. I grew up in small business and customer care makes or breaks small business. Dr. Bulakowski, Paula, and Basha provide a level of care so few businesses make the effort for these days. I love the tech side of their service, too, with text notifications of appointments and other such additions. They always save money for me, too, with discounts, coupons, rebates, and other nifty ways to save. The professionalism is there, too; they know what they're doing and they do it well. I'm super happy to receive big-facility eye care and small-business customer care. They are about 20 minutes from Greensboro and their service, by far, is worth that little bit of a drive.

They did not inform me ahead of time what my insurance did and did not cover and ended up charging me $120 for an eye exam even though my copay was $20 and their reasoning is that I have astigmatism which I informed them of ahead of time and they still told me it would be a $20 co pay. This is sneaky and unacceptable. I purchased lenses and not frames and inquired on contacts with them. I swiped my card for the lens purchase that day and was called the next week and was told my insurance benefit was already used. Keep in mind I specifically asked them about this benefit since I was not purchasing frames and they informed me that I would still be able to utilize it for contacts. Now the next week comes and they claim that was miscommunication and they can't use the benefit for both when I specifically inquired on both with them. Keep in mind I already purchased the lenses so now I would have to pay out of pocket. They told me the week prior it would be $83 if I didn't use my insurance and now Anita is claiming for it to be $170. Another miscommunication. So I suggest before you go here, you read on your benefit and you know about it front and back because they will not be helpful at all with what your insurance covers. Now they claim they don't usually do refunds and the only way they can do that is via check So their miscommunication has now cost me hundreds of dollars which is really great. I came in here in a good mood and left extremely frustrated and now the next week even more frustrated nobody here is helpful. Everybody is in a rush and not friendly. Do not go here. I also asked to speak to the supervisor and no one has contacted me since.

Just like everything else, there has been an increase in prices, but the customer service, quality, and materials have never been lacking (at least not for us). I was concerned about finding reputable medical care which led me to look into Duke related practices. I have been very happy with Kernodle Elon and in particular with Danielle Carter. She has managed to pick up where my old doctor left off and makes me feel comfortable and well cared for. Her knowledge is impressive, she responds quickly to messages/emails and her nurse is very kind. I would highly recommend.
