Found this little spot on a quick Google search after going to Spencer to see the Monks pass through. They still had all of their Christmas drinks although it was a few weeks after Christmas. The girls who took my order didn't really have much pep in their welcoming.. slouched over the counter and wasn't clear on communication if they heard half my order or not. I came here on a Sunday morning with 2 friends, the guy at the register was very polite and helpful but I can't say the same for the rest of the staff. They all seemed annoyed that we were ordering both drinks and food. There were only a few people in the shop when we arrived and they all had their drinks so we figured it wouldn't be too long before we at least had our coffees. However it was about 25 minutes before we received them, the food came out about 10 minutes after, and the staff was confused as to whether the order was ours or another customer. Walked in to this coffee shop since I was a bit early for the Cheerwine Festival. It was a very small space, the decor was interesting. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a crossaint. I also ordered the cheerwine frappe. The sandwich was hot and yummy, it was really good! The Cheerwine frappe got a few sips out of me, then went straight to the trash. I did not like it at all. It was extremely bitter and not sweet at all. The service was just okay. Cute local spot we found while charging our vehicle in Salisbury. Friendly service. Interesting local art exhibit on display. Loved that! Enormous list with interesting coffee selections. Coffees were all good and hot! I had an Americano and the coffee was rich and delicious. Everything was served quickly and hot! There are a couple different cafe/coffee shop near downtown, they all have different vibe, and each of their own. Mean Mug kinda artsy. Food choices are limited compared to Koco or Tia. But you don't go to a cafe for food anyway. Drinks wise, they have more choices than others, menu also Starbucks like so very diverse. read more

Coffee shop in downtown Salisbury rhat serves a variety of coffee drinks as well as smoothies. They also offer a selection of lunch items and baked goods. We walked in and were able to go right to the counter to order. I ordered a latte and couldn't decide what flavor, so told the barista to pick 2 flavors and surprise me. She did not disappoint, and I had a delicious butter cookie latte! Husband ordered the orange Creamsicle smoothie and said it was delicious ( I did steal a sip to make sure, and it was fantastic!) They feature local art on the walls and have some fun t-shirts and things for sale. No seating outside but tables and chairs inside if you want tomsit and sip. Came here because I saw they had a lot of different options for hot drinks, including a golden latte and matcha but I left with no lasting impression. Honestly my golden latte had no resemblance of being a golden latte, it tasted like plain coffee with cream. I was already on my way towards town before I tasted it so I didn't bother going back. It looked like what I order but tasted so disappointing. I was legit sad. The customer service was non existent. I almost ordered some pastries and a sandwich but nothing stood out to me as far as how it looked so I got some food at a different cafe. This coffee shop is a great fixture in our community. I love how it is convenient to walk to from my house. It is locally owned by minorities which just makes me want to support them even more. They provide delicious fair trade coffee and their frappes are so good they might be addictive so be careful. Their wine changes consistently but it is always on point. I have gotten try a nice variety of tasty wines since I have started coming here. They do offer wine tastings although I have heard that some are better than others as some of the host can be a little stingy with their wine samples. The food that I have tried there is tasty and satisfactory although I wouldn't intentionally venture here specifically for their food. Today when I came in they only had one poor girl working the entire restaurant by herself. I don't think it was very fair to her that she not only had to make my complicated drink order but she also had to prepare my food. While also doing the same for the other 10 people in the restaurant all while the credit card machine was not working. With what seems like a complete nightmare situation she truly handled herself with poise and professionalism. Way to go! I am definetly more into coming here for their tasty beverages and awesome local live music. They even hold special events here where they will block off the street and have fun celebrations which are usually lively and entertaining and ultimately a cool contribution to our neighorhood. If you want to try THE BEST CHAI LATTE then look no further. I live in Miami, Florida but travel to Lexington frequently and almost every time I visit, I have to visit Mean Mug. I've tried many chai lattes and I have yet to find one better than the one at Mean Mug. My partner gets the dirty chai and also agrees that it is unmatched. This is a nice little coffee shop, although, I did not have the coffee, so I'm reviewing the smoothies. I had a pineapple smoothie-large. There was only one person making the drinks and taking orders so it took awhile to place my order and then receive the smoothie. The large was too big! Don't get me wrong, that's great, but a smaller size is plenty and will fill you up, trust me. It had a good flavor and I finished it pretty quickly.
