It was a bit disappointing and very inconvenient that the WASHERS ONLY ACCEPT 25¢ and $1 coins. The DRYERS and Triple Load WASHERS ONLY ACCEPT 25¢ coins. But They have a functioning Change dispensing machine on site. Also, there are no instructions or guides on how to use each type of machine (especially the triple load washers). So, a first time user will be super confused. This isn't helped by the lack of staff on site. They have a secure Free WiFi and a TV that's on sometimes - though the channels are not my taste. There were brooms around to allow you clean up after yourself. Helpful. They also have a soap, bleach and softener dispenser on site (at extra cost). Along with a snack and soda machine. Just pray it doesn't steal your coins. I can't recommend the business because in addition to a few issues above, the owner is a little inappropriate or disrespectful in attitude when they do show up. Not a good thing considering the laundry is located in a religious Jewish neighbourhood with families. They recently added professional laundry/dry-cleaning services where you submit your clothes to the staff and they do a professional wash.

I've been short-changed here before because quarters were just dumped in my hand instead of counted out for me. The pricing keeps getting more and more expensive ($6 in Nov '18 to use a large washer and however much more to dry, the price varies as the machines don't always work). It's becoming untenable for ageing machines despite spending money to renovate their service area, and very bad service. It's the business' duty to guarantee the machines are working, and when they're not working, it's their job to believe clients and make it right, instead of telling paying clients they can choose to put more money in for broken machines. I avoid doing laundry here as much as possible. I also hate leaving reviews like this, even worse for places in The Market. But honesty and community is important, and you get what you give ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's how I felt about Harbord Coinwash after the disaster that was my old laundromat. It sounds like a basic concept, washers that work and wash your clothes, and dryers that actually dry your clothes, not to a ton of laundromat in Toronto sadly. They had a variety of different sized laundry machines and front loading machines. Not to mention that the price changes based on the level of soiling and heat of the water, which is much appreciated. A cold wash in a front loading machine? My wallet and Mother Earth thanks you. The dryers are some of the most reasonably priced dryers that actually work. In addition to effective washers and dryers, the owner clearly has put some love into the decor of the place, making me feel comfortable chilling out while waiting for my laundry to dry. This is as opposed to some of the much dirtier, never been cleaned before places around. While this place is a little further from me than many many other laundromat, I think the walk is worth it, not only am I satisfied with everything, I'd rather give my money to someone who appreciates their customers.

First, the cleanliness. Many laundromats have filthy floors. But not this one. When we visited, it was very clean. Almost exemplary. And the washroom was also very clean and obviously well maintained, which is rare in itself. The washing machines didn't have any weird smells, black fungus or stuck old detergent from previous users. Second, the equipment. It was good. Well maintained Electrolux washers and dryers. The smallest washer (20 lb) did a good job with a regular wash and warm water. The price - 5 CAD for 28 minutes. The dryer dried our small load in just 16 minutes (1 CAD). The biggest washer takes 77 pounds, which is quite impressive. Third, the vending machines. They were well stocked. You could even buy big bottles of detergent if you wanted to. Plenty of snacks and drinks as well. Fifth, the atmosphere. There was a lot of seating near big windows. Two TVs were playing racing and wildlife. Quite cozy. The area also has interesting food choices nearby (some of them are very questionable though, be careful). What could be better: - coins don't always go through, we had to retry a couple times (never had this issue before) - main wash requires powder detergent (we didn't have it, so had to buy one for 2 CAD for a single load using the vending machine) Overall, though, my kid declared it to be his favorite laundromat. And I agree.

The owners are amazingly friendly and helpful and they seem to take a great deal of pride in their business. Whenever a problem arises they materialize, as if by magic, to solve it. For years I've had the disdain and displeasure of having to pack up my dirty clothes in a big heavy…read morebag and lug them to the local laundromat to get clean. I've grown to detest doing laundry for this very reason, and so until the day that I become lucky enough to own a washer/dryer I've had to become very intimate with the laundry services in my area. I tried a few different ones and grew to hate doing laundry even more, when one had no change machine; one had no decently working dryer, or attendants to talk to about it and I almost gave up and succumbed to hand washing in the bath tub when I discovered this Wash N Fold at Bloor and Shaw. It's nothing special from the outside but I learned young to never judge a book by its cover. To my happiness, I found a clean laundromat run by a very friendly couple who are extremely accommodating (as soon as you walk in they'll point out the best washers available) and apologetic (if they washers are all in use). There are 8 regular, 3 medium and 2 gigantic sized front-loading washers (yes I've been there enough times to know all these minor details) and about 20 dryers. There are also a few top loaders but I think they are on there way out soon. Each load on the regular sized washers are $2 (pretty standard) and they fit a lot of clothes and have instructions in English, French, and Spanish. One day, when I was reading and waiting for my clothes to dry I happened to listen in on a conversation between the laundromat attendant and a maintenance guy who was explaining that the washers were among the best industrial kinds on the market. If you put in too much soap, the machine is designed to add more water to help balance out the suds; so the ratio, no matter what is always perfect depending on the size of your laundry load. 'Who knew laundry machines were so high tech', thought the oblivious girl sitting to the right, pretending to read her book... This Wash 'n Fold is also great because they are never THAT busy and you usually have a quiet place to wait or enough space to fold your clothes. I often leave my stuff there and run some errands as the clothes are washing/drying and never have felt insecure about doing so. They also offer drop off services for those who can afford it or don't mind having strangers sift through your dirty drawers. (Side note: they were gloves so no worries there!) In all my years of experience in local laundromats this one is hands down the best!

Most of the machines are broken, the hot water does not work, the dryers open up midway even if you put a low amount of clothing in. Secondly, the workers are disrespecting and extremely hostile. I had walked in one time to change loonies and quarters in the machine, because I was going to come back with my clothes and the money ready to go, and the usual lady who is there started accusing me of coming in there just to change my money and not obey the customer only rule. That was my last time going. Third and lastly, the cleanliness and maintenance of the laundry mat is horrible and disgusting. I almost slipped on a dryer sheet twice, my clothes became full of pet hairs after using the xL dryer, and on top of that my clothes came out smelling like piss, and im a very clean person. It could be that they just want to make it a cash grab, or maybe they dont have enough workers, or maybe some other reason, but scamming people out of their money and wasting people's time is no way to run a business. ( and dont even think about replying to my review with an ai copy and paste response, claiming that you will try your best to resolve the issue, because there are hundreds of reviews here saying the same thing and nothing has been changed whatsoever. )
