I don't believe there are proper protocols for administering IVs. The doctor left me with an IV bag and needle in my arm and went for the day, which was concerning--what if I had an adverse reaction? It is not safe here. They may be cheap, but there are many other places that are safer to visit.

My Aunt (in-law) treated me to a basic pedicure and express manicure at Esthetique this weekend…read more She is probably one of this salon's most loyal customers. I would not dare say anything to her about what I think of it because I do not want to hurt her feelings and seem ungrateful, but I think she is getting royally ripped off here. The Basic Pedicure (60 minutes, $47) The service started with a 15-20 minute soak of my feet in a pedicure sink, which I thought was a little too long. The remaining 40 minutes or so was spent by my nail tech gently smoothing out my rough skin, trimming my cuticles, shaping and buffing my nails, "massaging" my legs, and applying nail polish. The "massage" itself was lame because I did not feel like I got a massage - it felt more like someone rubbing lotion on my legs for about a minute. That said, I can't complain too much since the objective of the pedi - to have sandal-ready feet - was achieved. The Express Manicure (30 minutes, $18) This was supposed to be a 30-minute service, but mine was over in about 20. The nail tech shaped and buffed my nails, trimmed my cuticles, and applied clear nail polish. She did OK, but it was nothing great. I would have rather saved my Aunt her $18 because my nails did not look much better than they did before the manicure and my cuticles are now cracked and a bit inflamed. Conclusion The staff are nice enough, but they do just a "meh" job and I therefore do not feel that paying to get a mani/pedi here is money well spent. If I weren't so gutless, I would tell my Aunt to save her money and seek better and/or less expensive alternatives to this place.

I had a facial and eyebrow wax and really felt that Eva took the time to get to know my skin and my personal needs before she started the facial, with the effect that I walked out looking and feeling great. I find it hard to find a skincare professional that walks the line between actually doing some lasting good to your skin and giving you a relaxing experience. This spa does an excellent job both. I found out they were voted best day spa by in their local area and can see why. Their location is warm, relaxing and quite beautiful. It's also very clean and looks like it's very well taken care of, not like some cheap nail places I've been to. It's a little pricier than the cheap nail places but reasonable overall and worth it. If you want quality spa services this is a great place. Their Pitt Meadows location is now easier to get to than ever with the Golden Ears and Pitt River bridges.

Worst massage I ever had. I highly recommend not wasting your money on this place…read more I showed up for my appointment and they didn't even know I had one because the lady had forgotten to write it down. After about 20 minutes of talking to the person at the desk, the one I originally made the appointment with walked in and said she had forgotten (no apologies or anything, just acted like it was no big deal). Had to then wait another 10-15 minutes to get in. Then they proceed to tell me that I can only get a 30 minute massage instead of the 1 hour I originally booked because they don't have enough time now (even though I had been there in time for an hour long) . They made me pay before going into the room and expected me to give a good tip before knowing how the massage would be. The lady that was doing my massage gets me to undress and lay on the table, then proceeds to say she forgot something and goes out of the room leaving the door wide open with other people walking in the hallway. She then comes back in and does the massage. She doesn't use her hands and just uses her forearms pushing them up and down. I tried asking to only do my back, but she wouldn't listen and spent more than half the time on my legs and arms even though I kept repeating myself and asking her to stop and just focus on my back as that was my whole reason for going there. I came out feeling far worse than I did going in, kind of glad that I didn't have to spend an entire hour there after all.
