I met Dr. Meadows in 2018. After meeting multiple other surgeons from Atlanta, I happened upon Dr. Meadows. I have autoimmune issues, so I asked for a breast explant. My surgery went better than expected, he put me in his oxygen chamber the following day, and he sent a few things to pathology for me. I was initially disappointed because I paid to have additional surgery, but Dr. Meadows didn't feel comfortable proceeding until he received my pathology back. I told Dr. Meadows that I couldn't afford to pay for the additional surgery, but he assured me that he would complete my surgery at no additional charge, "whenever I was ready." I asked if my free surgery ever expired, and he told me "never, whenever I'm ready, I won't pay for anything because I already paid." Due to my autoimmune issues, I was frequently at the commerce office. My body had so many issues with recovery (not Dr. Meadows fault), so Dr. Meadows eventually gave me his personal cell number for emergencies. I have met Dr. Meadows wife, and Dr. Meadows knew my husband well - so the phone number was completely professional and intended to keep me safe. After a vehicle accident (not my fault), Dr. Meadows had me come directly to his office. He called my husband and sent his patients home, opened his OR, and then called his anesthesiologist in for emergency surgery. Dr. Meadows saved my life that day. There are other occasions when I needed immediate medical attention (autoimmune issues), and Dr. Meadows either handled the situation himself, called in a prescription, made a referral, whatever I needed. Every time I went to Dr. Meadows office, he asked me, "when are we finishing up your surgery?" His office messaged me to confirm that Dr. Meadows would be completing my surgery for free. His office also asked me if I would write a blog post about my explant experience. I have plenty of texts and messages from Dr. Meadows staff and himself, personally, to remind me that he still needed to complete my surgery. Fast forward a bit, and...Dr. Meadows went to be with Jesus. I have my "before" pictures...but no "after" photos. I have handfuls of friends who went to Dr. Meadows based on my referrals. I had every intention of finalizing my surgery after I let my body "rest" for a bit...because the surgery was "never going to expire"...but, it did. My body will forever remain *unfinished* because I seriously doubt that the new surgeon, "Big Daddy K" or whatever is going to honor Dr. Meadows promises to me. I haven't even asked because I know that the answer will already be "no" regardless of how much evidence I provide in writing. I can live with never having a beautiful "after" photo, but my heart will always be broken that I lost my friend. Dr. Meadows started as my surgeon, but he quickly became a friend to me, my husband, my mother, and he knew everything about my children. He constantly swapped husband stories about Kathryn with my husband, and he always bragged about his wife and children. I have a LOT of doctors due to my autoimmune issues, but Dr. Meadows was my only doctor who became a friend. I still have prescriptions in my drawer with his name on the bottle, I have other doctors who sing his praises, and I'll forever wear his scars with pride. This man saved my life, repeatedly - then he lost a beloved nurse, and after Dr. Meadows passed...he lost a lot of really great staff because jerks only want to talk trash behind a computer or behind a phone without taking everything lost into context. I could be pissed that I'll never have my surgery completed, but instead I CHOOSE to *honor* the man who saved my life, prayed with my family, ADORED his own family, and gave me his undivided attention EVERY TIME I EVER needed it. Life doesn't always turn out the way we want it to, so some of y'all need to stop and show some respect to a man who sacrificed MUCH to give back to his community, and stop talking badly about a medical practice that is doing their very best to keep the doors open for the memory of their husband/father. Kath could shut the doors entirely and walk away but she chooses to walk into the buildings that her husband built and do her BEST to fill shoes she should never have to walk in!!! Gosh, these reviews really irk me. There are more important things in life than your crooked breasts or the fake reviews that you read from a competitor. Stop acting like children and put some RESPECT on the name of Dr. Lionel Meadows AND his FAMILY. I have went here for years for my Botox + lip and chin filler. I have always left happy with the results no matter who did my injectables. I have decided to do a breast lift and augmentation with Dr. Kluska. I had preop today with Jasmine and she was very understanding and listened to the results I'm looking for and any questions I had. My veins would not cooperate while she was getting my labs but she was very patient and nice the whole time. She constantly made sure I was feeling okay and apologetic when it was definitely not her fault. I felt very comfortable and appreciated her caring and patient personality. I have gone to Meadows for Pellet insertion several times over the past 3 years All in all I have liked the people I've dealt with. My chief complaint is that they always wait to day of to insist I provide a current mammogram It got a little old last time as we traveled from our home in Tennessee. My daughter needed breast reduction surgery for medical reasons. I didn't think about checking Yelp for reviews. If I had I would have seen what we experienced! In a nutshell, Dr. Meadows was not in the consultation! This is major surgery. My child may be 18, but still she needed me. I was shocked he wasn't there but this was our first time at a plastic surgeon. I didn't know what to expect. I was not impressed. After this visit, we began researching him and other plastic surgeons. The hospital Dr. Meadows performs surgery has a score of 2. No thank you. After much research we found an amazing plastic surgeon who was ACTUALLY PRESENT in the consultation. He was available for questions my daughter had throughout the process. I went to Meadows for a CO2 laser in combination with another laser because they had a special. I have had a C02 laser before 3 years prion that was totally awesome and my skin was like glass. This time it was like I had nothing done at all. I spent $1,500.00 for nothing. When I spoke to the girl who performed the laser, all she offered me was to pay to get a Hetter Peel instead. I feel that they should have redone the procedure and not suggest that I pay for another. VERY DISAPPOINTED. On a side note I had the same experience with a bad Brest implant surgery here as well where one of the breasts shifted into a funny shape and the surgeon told me that I would have to pay for another procedure to fix it. The 1st major red flag with MSA was with lab work when they had to redo my labs 3 separate times. 1st time, they said my blood coagulated after collection. The 2nd time they forgot to send my labs on time. The 3rd time they said the laboratory lost my labs (later learned that this was due to a typo). The day before the surgery, I found out from the pre-op nurse that my surgery would be in the Commerce office. Until the evening before my surgery I was planning to show up at 9 am at the Buford office. No one had told me at my pre-op that all surgical procedures are performed at the Commerce location. The surgery went fine, but they did not give me a narcotic for pain until physically seeing the extent of pain I was in (balling my eyes out) upon waking up from general anesthesia. When I regained full consciousness I explained that I was in a lot of pain and that my face felt like it was burning, like it was on fire. Dr. Meadows said he doesn't routinely prescribe pain medication for Hetter peels, which is concerning. The following year, I was scheduled for a 4/22 surgery but ended up canceling 2 weeks before and rescheduling to 10/22. 2 weeks before my appointment, I called to reschedule again & was told that I can reschedule but they would charge me $1000 to do so since it was my 2nd time. I'm unable to find evidence of this stipulation from his online store. When I went to my pre-op consultation in Buford, Dr. Meadows was not there. Day of surgery, I was in the OR for 4 hours and no one followed up on how I was doing after my surgery. At 2 week post op, I had a scheduling issue. I left the office with 1 appointment card. Though, they subsequently called to confirm appointments, on 2 separate days. They apologized and explained there were a lot of new front office staff in training & a new computer system. They worked me in on the same day/time for both providers. Dr. Meadows came in the room and looked at me from near the door. He did not physically examine me. I question a surgeon not examining 2 weeks post op. Fast forward to my 4 week follow up and they managed to make the same scheduling mistake again. Karina, the manager, did not call me back even though I was assured that she would. I showed up to my appointment and Karina stated that the reason I couldn't have my appointments on the same day is because I was seeing different providers. She genuinely believed what she was saying even though my last appointment was with 2 providers in the same timeframe after they fixed their error & worked me in. She then said that it is completely normal for them to change appointment times and days for patients without their knowledge. I have never heard of anyone moving appointments as they wish for patients or customers without calling them 1st and communicating (something that's lost on Meadows from top down). I inquired about my post op appointment and was told that since it is a month out I am fine. Again, Dr. Meadows was unavailable to see me for my post op. I had a complication from my surgery, the sutures used did not dissolve, but came up to my skin surface, and no one was going to physically examine me until I asked them to look. My interactions with Meadows Surgical Arts, altogether, lead me to the conclusion that they only care about money and not for the patients themselves. I would advise others to look elsewhere for your cosmetic needs. The providers are not always competent and there is a toxic attitude amongst members of the staff. The facade of Meadows Surgical Arts may appear appealing at first glance, but there are deep and critical foundational cracks. These may end up endangering your health and results. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Meadows since 2019. I came to him first seeking advice for a possible auto immune disorder affecting my bladder. Throughout the entire process Dr. Meadows and his staff gave me the highest quality of care I have ever received! I truly felt cared for and my validated every step of the process. Recently, I have come back to his office for a breast augmentation in June of this year. My consult was delightful, a cute little blonde woman came in and went over my medical history. I was then given a comfy robe to change into while she went and grabbed Dr. Meadows. Dr. Meadows is a serious man, but is known to crack a few jokes every once in a while. He was patient with me while I answered his questions about what I wanted to change and what I like about my breasts. His genuine desire to give his patients exactly what they want truly stands out! I tried on the sizers with a bra provided to me and then also with a tank top. I then picked the size range I would like and booked my surgery date. My results are spectacular!!! Honestly and truly. I will brag about my new boobs and the amazing surgeon who provided them to me, every chance I get! I was a small B before and I went with 380cc extra high profile silicone. I didn't go to my appointment . Because I looked up the address on Google so I could get it in my phone for my trip there and got lost in the reviews or comments that were left. Each one touched home with me from different surgeries I've had before. Between the office having bad aura and the patients telling of no pain meds feeling it all and one breast bigger than the other and poor post surgery check ups and the belittling someone for things to get more money from more surgery. I was stund and speechless and yes very very doubtful and when my mind and gut said no I went with them cause what you think about you bring about so I could not make myself go after I read it all. RUN!!! Dr Meadows only interest is the "upsale" so that he makes even more money. His technique is to make you feel bad about yourself so you agree to MORE procedures. Then his assistants will try to make you believe that if you'll schedule for the procedure and pay 10% down that day, you'll save $$$$ because of a special discount. When reality sets in after a couple of days to think about it, you realize you were essentially bullied into all of it; and when you cancel, they KEEP the 10% you paid. The staff is very friendly and the facility is nice. The issue is Dr. Meadows himself. First off, he does not attend the consultations, which should have been my first indicator of a potential problem. I never saw him until the time of my surgery. Next, he completely ignored my requests and pretty much just did what he wanted to do. I had breast augmentation on both & a lift on one side. The sizes I chose in the fitting appointment were not the ones used - I picked out a 400cc and a 550cc in order to correct asymmetry issues but I was given the same size (380,overfilled to 450cc) in both! When I woke up and the nurse told me that, I immediately said that was a problem and have been complaining of the size difference between the two since. However, at my last appointment (now 6 months out), rather than address the problem, Dr. Meadows simply told me I needed to lose weight to even them out. Next, my left is 1/2 inch higher up than the right - this isn't super noticeable unless I lift my arms but becomes a real issue when wearing a tank top or swim suit. On top of all that, my right breast is too far over to the left and the left is too far to the outside of my body - basically, from looking at me straight on, my breasts are left centered and look ridiculous. Dr. Meadows just brushes off my concerns and refuses to do anything until 1 yr from my surgery, which I highly doubt even then he is going to do anything but make some arrogant snide remark yet again. I am now going to consultations for revision surgery and possible removal since it seems that fixing the issue will be harder than just removing them all together. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I am not sure if I have anyway to recoup the money I wasted at this horrible place but I am certainly looking at all options as it is going to cost me more to fix this than what I paid for them. read more

Most of the staff here was great, the issue was the plastic surgeon himself, Dr. Meadows. Very rude and did not seem confident in doing the procedure I was needing. He made me feel as if it was an inconvenience for him to talk to me about my procedure. I don't understand how he keeps any patients if he acts this way with everyone. Last week (May 28th) I scheduled an appointment with Meadows Surgical Arts as a new patient for an annual check up and to talk about switching my birth control method. Scheduling my appointment was pretty straight forward and easy. I asked when their next available was and I was put down for June 8th 2020 @ 9am. Cool right? Cool. I then plan accordingly and ask off of work. So now, I'm using PTO (PAID TIME OFF) so that I can make this appointment. An ENTIRE week goes by and I received a call TODAY about rescheduling my appointment because they have "photos to take and don't want me showing up and the office staff not be there". I get that things come up but I thought this was unprofessional on so many levels. It's Friday, giving me two days before my scheduled appointment to find another office to hopefully get an appointment for Monday. Now, you guys are being an inconvenience. Not only that, inconsiderate. If these "photos" were scheduled prior to me making an appointment I definitely should have been informed from the beginning but in the event that these were scheduled afterwards - you guys just thought "oh we can reschedule all our Monday appointments" Best believe they lost a potential client. I got a breast augmentation November of 2017. When I had it done Dr. Meadows recommended 375CC Saline implants. At first, I was very pleased with everything. After a couple weeks I got VERY bad stretch marks.... I had never gotten stretch marks before in my life. And I was impressed and so thankful that Dr. Meadows gave me free laser treatments on them. However, about 5 months ago I felt like my breast were drastically smaller. And one was pushing over to the side... I went in frantic about this. They asked if anything might have happened.. I told them I had been in a car accident a couple weeks prior and they said that this might have caused it... They said I could spend ~$4500 to get TWO SMALL stitches on the side to keep the implant from pushing over to the side or spend ~$3500 to have the surgery all over again.... And they told me maybe I could sue the person that I got in an accident with to pay for it..... NOW my implants still feel like they're smaller and they look horrible. I called them to have my before and after pictures sent to me. I'll be going somewhere else to see if I can get them redone. read more

I only gave one star because I have to to write a review. This office is not run well. I am in the healthcare profession myself and I cannot recommend this provider. I was referred by a friend for a skin consult. I was not seen by the doctor, which surprised me. When I did see him on my next visit, he was quite arrogant and treated me like a nobody. His staff told me he could be " moody". I am from Dallas, Texas. There is certainly no good reason for anyone in Commerce, Ga to be snooty. The Dr. removed cancerous skin on my wrist. I was never called about the pathology report but I got a bill from the nearby hospital and paid it. I called the office to ask about my pathology report and never got a call back. I am writing this today because all of this was done in September of 2018. I just received my first bill a few days ago for a little over $100 from Dr. Meadows office and on the bill it reads " call this office or you'll be referred to collections" There is no number on the statement to call! It showed my account was over 120 days late. Again, I just got my first bill. I called the office. I got a call back today and he left a message that said " if I need to work out a payment plan to call the office" Really? So annoying; that's not what this is about. I never got a bill until 14 months later and now I'm late on paying my bill?! This office must be terribly disorganized. In addition, I had Botox one time at this office. I will never go back. I had a headache for 3 weeks and my forehead and eyelid drooped for 2 months. Again, attitude about how wonderful they are. This is not Dallas folks. Go to Atlanta if you want it done right! Not only is Dr.Meadows unprofessional, I feel it's very important for the public to know that Meadows Surgical Arts broke a very serious HYPA law by including another patients personal records within mine. I have since then contacted that patient so she may be made aware that her personal medical records have been compromised by Meadows Surgical Arts. I find he and his staff's lack of privacy for both my medical records and those of other patients deplorable. There is no excuse for the botched breast augmentation he gave me other than the surgeon holding the scapal being inefficient. Dr.Meadows and his team promised a service that he was unable to provide and instead continued the surgery instead of backing out, and the results were evident of his inability to provide the type of breasts I requested. Meadows Surgical Arts is the last place I would recommend getting any type of surgery.
