I stepped in Mail Boxes ETC with my bread machine, I asked the price of packing and sending it and I was happy with the first and only option I was aware of. I asked when the box will reach the destination, the person said Monday/Tuesday. It all sounded suitable, so I fulfilled the form with all the details and paid with credit card for packing and sending it (packing= 10£ sending = 40£) very satisfied in term of pricing. Later on during the week (Wednesday), an email was sent to me with the detail of the shipment and the address was incorrect (the wrong house number) and the email was meant to be sent to the receiver.I contacted Mail Boxes ETC by phone, they checked my address and they assured me that the box will arrive home. Apparently the mistake was only in the email sent content. I also informed him that I was told it will reach the destination by Monday or Tuesday, the person replied it was an approximation and no promises were given. After my experience with Mail Boxes ETC considering the price I would say this company is a good alternative. In term of customer service they were friendly, warm and quite casual yet I would rate it average mainly because they expected me to know about the verity of services Mail Boxes ETC offer and decide on my own. If you are lazy ( like me) and know nothing nor bothered to know much :D with a desperate desire of having your parcel packed and sent while paying a bit more for extra peace of mind in this case, maybe Mail Boxes ETC is not the best option. Try to avoid going to Mail Boxes ETC and expect them to give you a complete tour guide about the different options they offer. I have a friend who has an E-Bay shop and usually dispatches her stuff through Mailboxes and has never had any problems with their courier service. In addition to postage services, Mailboxes also offers a print and copy service so ideal if you need to print off lots of flyers for an event.

Judging from the amount of completed printing lying around, it is a well used service. Their website is well worth a visit, and has comprehensive information on all the services they offer, as well as giving you the option to track and trace shipments, get quick quotes for parcels, and rent mailboxes, all from the home page. It is slick and professional-looking, which helps to add to the credibility of the company. I couldn't fault the job they did for me, and have given them a rating of 3 stars. The true test for Mailboxes Etc would be with a bulk printing order, but I would have no qualms about using them again.

They have the ticket machine so you can sit and wait rather than queue. Unless you're there for ID or biometric services in which case you need to stand in line. There's quite a few self service machines as well which are quick and easy and they usually have staff around if you need help with them. Usual selection of envelopes and other posting things. Also has travel money & insurance services. Functional, staff have always been helpful and friendly on the few times I've been in.

Initially the person I dealt with seemed to at least know what they were doing, despite telling me I would have to wait at least two weeks to even get my items picked up and they wouldn't send it the method I preferred. Then someone else takes over, and she doesn't seem to care or have a clue about what has been agreed to. Despite endless emails and having to call overseas multiple times, she still managed to ship my package TO THE WRONG ADDRESS, using the WRONG COURIER. I caught this the same day I finally got tracking after demanding it...and had to call again. No apology, not interested in fixing things - she had the nerve/silliness to tell me she was sure my package would still reach me. Yeah, packages that are not addressed correctly just somehow know where to be delivered...right. This, after paying a hefty price and now waiting close to three weeks and having to be on them to get things done. Unbelievable. I have my doubts my package will arrive at all, given she didn't care to make this right and the manager wasn't in. Perhaps my UK attorney reaching out will get something done. I recommend AVOIDING this shipper.

I'd thought that somewhere this central would be jam-packed, especially at lunchtime, but not so, and the queue was moving along at a fair lick, so kudos to the folks at the windows. I, however, poor soul that I am, fished out my envelopes and was instantly barked at by a lady on patrol. "STAMPS? YOU WANT STAMPS?" - and she hustled me out of line. There's an express queue for postage, it seems, of which I was unaware; my regular post office is the one on St Mary's Street - infinitely more compact and manual - so I wasn't used to the idea. Oh, provincial me. It was helpful of her, but she was also slightly alarming and officious in her manner, which kind of made me want to take these lengthy epistles, toils and spoils of my aching hand and brain, and run for the wind. "I won't let her hurt you," I would whisper as we fled down to the shore... But fortunately, reason prevailed, and I was swiftly served with the correct postage. A point here and there at the card machine and she bustled off to find somebody else. I feel a warm fuzziness about post offices not dissimilar to that which I feel about Christmas, and so I wasn't equipped to deal with this mild intimidation. Trying to claw back some of that festive posty spirit, I pulled my international stamp for the New York missive out of the machine, and bounced excitedly. I'm no avid philatelist but I do love to see a pretty stamp with a picture on it. "Look, it's all colourful and pretty!" I squeaked to the customer at that moment replacing me at the machine, and pointed at my picturesque postage stamp. I was met with a derisive stare. Oh. Not that kind of post office then. Still, it was light, it was quiet, and I got everything done quickly that I needed to do. I wouldn't avoid it if I were nearby, but all else being equal, I would choose the queues and jovially messy jiffy bag walls at teeny weeny St Mary's Street over the efficient brusqueness of Frederick Street.

They don't do passports, drivers licences or any other fancy stuff but they do do sending things in the post. They never have that big a queue and seem to know most of the regulars who use the post office. They also sell some birthday cards, wrapping paper and all sorts of different sizes of boxes.
