The good stuff: Their vets are very skilled and they have empathy and compassion. Also, once you are established if your pet has an issue they get them in pretty quickly. The bad: This place charges A LOT! I have had the impression more than once that finding every opportunity to add charges during an exam is included in their staff training. Also, there is little/no transparency with charges ahead of time. I am putting it out there so people can be aware. We boarded our dogs and paid a lot extra for their "luxury run". It was supposed to have a tv that played soothing videos and be equipped with cameras that we could log into and check on them at our convenience. We were not allowed to see this in person because of "safety protocol" and the morning we checked them in we were informed that the cameras were down. We had no way of knowing if we got anything that we were charged extra for, and we were charged a lot extra. They were unapologetic about this and did not offer to reduce the bill for the services that were not provided. Over $200 for 24 hours and I have no idea if we got anything we payed extra for. Pros: skilled vets and usually can get an appointment quickly Cons: they squeeze you for every dime and you must take it on faith that you are getting what you paid for. read more

The best vets and vet techs ever. My dog, Bruno, is a little psychotic. I adopted him about six months ago and he has not had the easiest life prior to my adopting him. He's afraid of people and becomes aggressive at the vet. I've never felt judged by the staff or felt like my dog was a burden to them. They take excellent care of him and work with me to prescribe medication that helps him calm down at the vet. Today I had an appointment for his routine heart worm test and an anal gland expression. One of the vet techs, unfortunately I don't know her name, she had straight blonde/light brown hair, (very descriptive, I know) was so kind and compassionate with my dog and me. My dog practically wanted to rip her face off and she was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable knowing that I'm doing the best I can to take care of my dog. I've also seen Dr. Zwick and Dr. Couri and both were amazing. Dr. Couri is one of about five men that my dog isn't immediately afraid of. The north clinic is beautiful and huge, the south clinic is small and cozy but still equally as nice and has just as wonderful of staff! My roommate takes her cat here too and she's had great experiences with them. Lastly, I am a dog walker and pet sitter and almost every client I've had in the Peoria area takes their pets to Meadowbrook because they are the best. Thank you, Meadowbrook! read more

I have lost both my dogs this year (through no fault of the clinic; they both had terminal conditions). The whole staff, but Dr. Kevin Collins especially, are truly wonderful people. They took incredible care of my dogs in both preventative measures and treatment for their terminal conditions. You will always get phone calls answered and returned, and they will spend as much time as necessary with you. Dr. Collins is an absolutely amazing person, clinician, and surgeon. Meadowbrook used to be a 5 for our family, but have dropped below the middle line due to recent experiences. Our experiences have to do with the grooming side of things and also the staff's sense of urgency in communication. Let me start with the positives: The veterinarians and most of the staff are exceptionally friendly. They're knowledgeable and empathetic. The facility is clean and has a good feel when you walk in. Bad: picked dog up from grooming and has tons of stray hairs, was charged to pay $40 for tiny dog grooming before I saw her to give approval, called to find out the status of the dog and was on hold for 15 minutes. Additionally, if you use the grooming services, you have to drop your dog off between 7-9am. The dog won't be done before 3pm...why? Who knows. That's a long day for a dog. We have decided to go somewhere else entirely after today...I hope they review their customer service practices. read more

This is where I take my beloved cat, Ruby. She hates it here, but that's no surprise. I have had to board here on a couple occasions when I've gone out of town for a while and she does okay. The staff is very understanding that my cat is difficult, and does everything they can to make her visits a little easier. The only issue I have is that I have taken her here since 2006 and they just now tell me she can get 3 year shots instead of 1 year shots, thus saving a lot of headaches. Oh well. read more

I cannot tell you just how wonderful this clinic truly is. I have never found a vet that I have loved so much (both Drs. Wulfekuhle and Polley). It is usually easy to get a last minute appointment. The girls at the front desk are friendly and knowledgeable. The clinic itself is clean and modern. The doctors are caring and spend a lot of time with you and your pet. My favorite part about this clinic is that they do not run it like a business. They really treat you as if you are family. And the amount they charge for their services is beyond reasonable. We found Meadowbrook when we had a sick pet - they are close to the house and didn't want to make her travel too far. Unlike other clinics we had visited, they took the time to listen, spent time giving us options and cared for our pet like it was their own. We ended up losing her and the whole team was very compassionate. After that, Dr. Wulfekuhle quickly became our primary Veterinarian. He listens to our needs and doesn't push us for excess testing/labs like other clinics had. He and I have had regular phone conversations back-and-forth for weeks in the past regarding the status of another pet that became ill. It is nice to know that he cares and will take the time to reach out to check on him. I've been taking my dogs there for years. I currently have two Havaneses and they love going there, They can't wait to see Couri. Both dogs had a few medical problems this year and were given excellent care there. One day my youngest one stayed there while I was at work and sat on Dr. Couri's lap while he did paper work and joined them for their lunch. We have been taking our bulldog to Meadowbrook since she was a puppy. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. They always act so excited to see our dog when she comes in for a visit. The Dr.'s have all been very knowledgeable about Bulldogs and are very efficient in diagnosing her. She has had some skin issues and they are always prompt and spot on when diagnosing and treating her. They treat our dog very well and we have never had an issue or second guessed the staff once at Meadowbrook. I do think their pricing is reasonable and they are always willing to help with the paperwork for our pet insurance. I would recommend Meadowbrook to anyone with a pet. They have separate waiting rooms for dogs and cats. The facility is also very clean and they have hooks at the counter to leash your dog to as you check out. Very handy! read more

I moved my pets over to Meadowbrook from Demanes... mostly because my old vet was overcharging me on everything, the front desk staff was snippy, and the vets there refused to allow me a prescription so that I could give my kidney-failing dog fluids every other day. This meant I had to bring my dog in every other day for a $35 fee. That's crazy. I've been helped by Dr. Wulfekuhle and Dr. Polley at Meadowbrook and they've been nothing but helpful, caring and knowledgeable. They always give me choices and information so that I don't feel as though I'm being held hostage for my wallet (as I did with Demanes). Dr. Wulfekuhle allows me prescriptions so that I can buy fluids, needles and IV sets online at 1/10th the price of what Demanes was charging me. This means that I have been able to keep my dog (who was given 9 months to live at Demanes) alive much longer. He is now 2 years past that deadline and doing well. The front desk staff at Meadowbrook is terrific, too. Although I haven't boarded my pets there, their facilities have been updated and the dogs have an outside yard to play in (while supervised). I recommend Meadowbrook to anyone with a pet. read more
