Last year we moved into our house in South Lyon, it was a new house so we needed everything, trees, shrubs, grass, irrigation, you name it. We called around to get some quotes, for some reason a lot of landscapers would either be late to an appointment or never even show? What's with that? The first company to show up in and give us a price was Meadowbrook Acres Landscaping, we set up a meeting with one of the owners, Nick. We discussed what needed to be done and at no time did I feel pushed into anything, it was more of a friendly conversation, if I wanted to know more about something he would explain it but never push me to upsell it, there was absolutely no used car salesman routine, which I appreciate! Anyway, we learned a lot... When asked what made them different than anybody else and he explained to us how your normal landscaper orders the sod from a farm, the farm then has it trucked to the landscaper sight unseen, he lays whatever the farm put on the semi. Since they are the sod farm, trucking company, and installer, that not only is there no middle-man but they also can keep a good eye on quality control. He also said that because they are trucking company that they get plants from the farm, whereas other landscapers go to a nursery yard where the best plants are picked first and sometime are left getting bad leftovers. Right then we were sold, we still had some other landscapers eventually show up but they were either higher priced or just didn't seem professional. You know that gut feeling you get when somebody just doesn't come off right? We got that a lot. To wrap up my rather long review, I'll say that I'm absolutely ecstatic with the way things turned out, I'm soo happy knowing I made a good investment in my home. We moved to South Lyon near the end of 2013 and built a new home so we needed sod/sprinklers/landscaping...pretty much everything. We used a family friend for landscaping and they recommended we check out Meadowbrook Acres (along with several other neighbors in our sub). One of Meadowbrook's owners (Nick) did my initial estimate and to this day (nearly 3 years later) is still in touch with me when I run into problems or have just general questions about lawn care. Once we selected Meadowbrook, they worked exceptionally well with our landscaper to install our sod, irrigation, and landscaping very efficiently and very clean (which is rare when you usually have trucks parked all over (they actually parked their big trucks out of site so my neighbors had no complaints or issues maneuvering on the streets). Meadowbrook's outstanding customer service, quality of work, and most of all, continued follow up years after the install to see how the lawn is maturing are the main reasons I would rate them even higher than 5 stars if it was possible. Several others in our sub have used Meadowbrook and from the looks of their lawns, it's easy to see they are satisfied. One outstanding example of their customer service was that their technician was booked for 1 month so one of the owners (Nick) came out and did the repair on our control box himself. After meeting with a bunch of unprofessional landscapers, which seemed to be the norm? I was very happy to find this company. We hired them last summer to install landscaping, sprinklers, and the lawn on our new home. Everything turned out looking great, although I had to wait a while to get on their schedule, once installation began it was very quick! I called Meadowbrook for sprinkler & sod over a year ago, Devan came out to talk to us and tell us the process and timeline. They were out when he said and completed the job as promised. Fast forward to a year later, and I had a small issue with my system, Devan said he was in the area and came over and fixed the issue before I even asked him if he could. Installation of grass was good, I am very pleased my lawn is very pretty green. I also have sprinkler installed and function is very good.
