I set up my Initial meeting with my tax strategist and we spent about 10 mins and he said he was not able to provide any strategy for me. They said they would apply the 4,000 towards tax preparation which I was fine with. Then when I tried to get my taxes prepared they were behind and unable to do them In time. I asked for a refund so I could go somewhere else and they refused. They didn't prepare my taxes. They didn't give me any tax strategies and said they aren't going to refund my money. It took me months and I fought tooth and nail with them and my credit card company finally refunded my $4,000 they tried to keep without providing service. Years later I get an email saying there is an invoice in my account when I have not engaged in business with them in over 2 years. I own a small business and have real estate investments. If you are in a similar situation stick with your local cpa/book keeper and don't fall for their used car sale pitch,

I explained my current tax strategy and he assured me there are better strategies available for my business, so I signed up with them to learn this "new" strategy. Fast Forward to the end of the process and Provision tells me the exact same strategy I was already using. Complete waste of money. I attempted to resolve the matter with Provision several times and they agreed to refund a portion of the cost. After constant lying and dragging of their feet, they said they had "closed it out" and never refunded any of the cost. If you are interested in getting a tax strategy, just contact a local CPA that is familiar with your type of business and they will be able to advise you for much cheaper than $4,000.

Hold on tight my Yelp brethren. This will be no Tweet, Thread or cute Emoji. It will be about…read moreEdward Jones and personal financial management. Item 5 gets to the point. 1. Steady Ray and Vassar Barb. I got to know Ray and Jim going to my third high school. They grew up together. Jim's mom was Vassar Barb. I call her Vassar Barb because her obituary said she was a Vassar graduate. Jim's dad was a Danish freedom fighter who came to the US after WW2, beginning a successful flower and vegetable seed company with Barb. The family accepted me and I got to listen. Vassar Barb called Ray "steady", saying he'd make a solid, loyal employee. Steady Ray went to work at the seed company when he was 20. A solid, dependable agricultural Field Man. Vassar Barb told Steady Ray, "Ray, you've got a job now, you should buy a house." Ray bought a house. Vassar Barb told Steady Ray, "Ray, my bank has financial advisors. Save your money, don't spend it all. Let a financial advisor help." Ray did as he was told. He was a plain living bachelor. When he was 40 he married the mailwoman. At 45 Ray retired, Replacing 100% of his work income with an annual 2% payout from his advised investments. I trusted no one, making my solitary way in life. 2. Honeywell Ann and Edward Jones Honeywell Ann has a high school degree. After various jobs Honeywell hired her as an electronics assembler. She assembled critical electronics 19 years. One day an Edward Jones Advisor made his way to Honeywell, explaining Edward Jones principles and policies to her work group. Ann signed up. contributing a little of her paycheck each month most of those 19 years. She trusted EJ completely. Honeywell Ann's highest wage was $13 an hour. She worked a lot of overtime, saved, is frugal and Edward Jones sends her a check each month greater than her Social Security. She's very conservative with her investment dollars, never rolled big on Edward Jone's Wheel of Fortune. I've been impressed for 13 years. I did OK in life. Worked my 46 years, had a fulfilling career and put away some money in a 401K. My savings choice was Vanguard, I trusted myself, educated myself, remembered my ancestors wild gambles and crushing losses in various markets. I was conservative, but risk-on. 3. Edward Jones has excellent online tools for building your personal finance ship. They generate a wealth "horizon" and personal financial goals. If you want to proceed, you can, if not, walk away. I am losing memory and vision. I'll need help going forward. I want someone close to home I can talk to, toss ideas to and help me preserve income going forward and distribute it as required when I finally rest in my final plot of real estate. Spencer Campman and Evelyn Garcia are my EJ team. Spencer's Phoenix born, educated at the University of Arizona - "Bear Down!" Evelyn's roots in the region are deeper than a centuries-old mesquite. She speaks Spanish. She's moved to Phoenix from Tucson Fiduciary is a big word for asset care. The Edward Jones Trust is a very Conservative asset management group. We've spent several weeks accumulating various funds into my new Edward Jones account. I git a notice flagging which of my investment choices were too risky to keep in my account. Vanguard has a Scottsdale office. Spencer invited a Vanguard manager in to view, prune and weed my many Vanguard holdings. Edward Jones systems looked over my several stocks, weeding them to acceptable risk Edward Jones choices. So off I go with Edward Jones. Will I catch up to Steady Ray? I will see.
