Got my hair trimmed and colored here by Alvin! He was so professional and attentive to my needs. Usually I go for a medium warm brown, but I wanted to try something new. Alvin gave me some suggestions based on my style and preferences, and the color turned exactly what I wanted. I didn't know what to expect because it was my first time getting it this color, but I'm so happy with the result! I also came here to get hair treatment since it was a little dry before. They use this Japanese product called Milbon, which seems pretty good. My hair feels so soft. Definitely would come back again, and I'm really picky with my stylists. read more

Do not come here - the previous owner left and someone new took over. All the positive reviews were for the previous owner. I'm not sure what happened, but I just know that the guy who's currently managing the salon is leeching off of the positive reviews that customers left for Alvin (previous owner). The current guy is absolutely terrible. I went here to get my hair dyed, and he bleached my hair THREE times without telling me what he was doing. When the color wouldn't show up on my hair, he blamed my hair for being too thick. Uh my hair is definitely not thick - I'm suffering from hair loss - so maybe blame your skills and the products you're using instead? Needless to say that the color faded within a few days. read more

This is my first time visiting and I came here because location and other great reviews. I haven't had a hair cut since the beginning of the pandemic so overall my hair was super long, shapeless, and sprouting grays on top. I did the japanese straight perm, color and a cut was included and I really love the outcome. Alvin cut my hair. He did it so effortlessly and it came out great. The perm helped with my frizz and hair felt really soft and looked natural (not that flat pin straight look from the 90s). I wish I asked what shampoo and conditioner they used because it smelled so nice into the next day. :) read more

Finally decided to do a post-covid haircut and landed on this place. Making an appointment was super easy. Upon entering, the soles of your shoes are disinfected, your temperature is taken, and hand sanitizer provided. Def made a good impression right off the bat. I requested Alvin as my hair stylist after reading all the great reviews. My haircut turned into an impromptu color as well after recommendations from Alvin. I had wanted to change my hair color for some time now, but never could settle on a color. So I put the decision in Alvin's hands! It turned out amazing. I love the color (although I'm still not sure what to call the color). And I was thankful he warned me not to freak out after the first of two coloring and wash because my hair was orange. I want to also give a shoutout to Amy who helped Alvin wash and color my hair. She was very thorough and offered me water multiple times. They did such a good job with my hair. They gave me a straight perm and bleached with the pink dye for a really affordable price. Includes the haircut too! James really took care of my hair along with Alvin. This was my first time coming here and now it's going to be the spot I'm always going to go to for my hair. A really awful and unprofessional hair salon experience. I want to preface by saying I don't know if this establishment changed owners because the name is now "@me" not tease and I'm pretty sure all the "good" reviews were for the previous place because the place I went to was no good! I'm not even sure who the horrible amateur male stylist was who cut my hair was because he never told me his name! I also want to mention this particular "stylist" doesn't speak any English so forget about asking for layers, shape, or style because he won't understand you. I had to pull out my google translate for everything. Even with the translate app I was lost in communication with him!! So he doesn't understand English but when I tried to translate to Chinese on my translator app and he can't even understand that, is he just slow? Such nonsense! Also this guy is the rudest person I ever met, can't believe he works in the hospitality industry. Be warned! Now let's get into the actual cut. I blame myself for not thoroughly looking at the haircut pictures on this page. The bangs looks awful in every single picture posted except for the profile picture I think that's someone else's work and the picture of an example that the client wanted the only two good pictures here but every other bang picture with the wispy bangs and longer thick sides is exactly what he gave me, strange looking wispy bangs with two thicker pieces of hair on the ends. I never seen normal bangs look like this! Not to American standards anyway and I'm not trying to look like a fob so shame on me for choosing this place. I made an appointment for a trim with layers and getting bangs. The easiest process for any salon to do, I was not asking for a crazy hairstyle, pixie cut, highlights or bayalage something complicated. No, I asked for a simple cut with layers.... Basic easy, standard trim. Nothing complicated. Right? No I was wrong this guy can't cut at all. Then the stylist came over and asked me what I wanted I showed him pictures. He started cutting my bangs and left two semi long thick pieces next to the bangs he was working on. The bangs were literally a few wisps of hair see example ( nearly every single bang picture posted here), he did not bring enough hair in the front to cut, I told him this but he said no that he was the professional and knew what he was doing he then cut two thick pieces on the sides of the "wisps" of bangs it looked so weird I told him I don't like those thick pieces of hair next to the thin "wisps" of bangs and he didn't understand me nor listen, It looked like a beginners hack job. He kept huffing and puffing and making rude sounds to show his disapproval of what I wanted. Very unprofessional. I want to add that I shown him a picture of my amazing cut that a previous stylist did and he rudely and offensively told me "it looks horrible I would never do such a horrible job and your previous stylist don't know what he was doing" Ironically the guy saying this to me doesn't even know how to layer and cut bangs or speak simple English! :/ The bangs come out horrible and too thin because he did not bring more hair in the front to cut into bangs. I got no shape and layering to my cut. A simple request. He did not understand simple salon terminology like shape, layering or too thick hair. When I asked for layers he said it's not called layers it's called "angles" excuuseee me? I lost so much patience for this guy that I was too frustrated to correct him, because he probably wouldn't understand me anyway.... And yes I been getting layers since I started going to salons... I was so dumbfounded by this and had to pinch myself to make sure I was at a real salon and not being pranked. A stylist who don't know what layers are!! But anyway he didn't layer my hair or give me anything I wanted he cut straight across to " trim" my hair and gave me his version of bangs.... Which I went home and fixed myself. Only thing ok was that he did not cut my hair too short like most salons do. I left extremely unhappy and disrespected the stylist was very rude. Obviously I would never in my right mind go back but he told me to make it clear that next time to go to a different salon because he can't do it. He really thinks he is such a great hairstylist, from my experience he's one of the worst and most amateur I seen and been to, I never seen such entitlement coming from a person who can't even cut hair properly. I went home and fixed it myself that's how much of a mediocre job he did. If you can't cut simple bangs correct or layer hair, you can not possibly call yourself a hairstylist. Waste of $50. I would have disputed paying but I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. This was the weirdest, most unprofessional experience at a salon ever. If you are reading my honest review, do yourself a favor and do not go! read more

[Update]: 4 months later and my loose digital perm from this salon looks even nicer lol, it takes a while to relax but it's so worth it!! This was my first time here and I got a digital perm. It took around 5 hours (including a cut) and I love it :) I forgot to ask for their names but I really recommend this place and the staff!! The guy who cut and permed my hair was really skilled and nice! He trimmed the front of my hair to frame my face and trimmed the damaged parts of the rest so I could keep some length. For the perm, he and his assistant checked on me consistently even when there were other customers. I was scared it would be too tight but the duo loosened it just enough. His assistant who washed my hair many times was also really nice and I think learning the technique my stylist was doing. She was great too :) read more

Got hair colored, treated and cut by Alvin. Really liked the results..I specifically asked to have a medium natural brown color, nothing to light or orange looking. Alvin took his time and made sure the hair color is what I wanted. After the first round of coloring when I voiced that my roots looked a bit too light, Alvin immediately help fixed it and made sure it's the color I wanted. He took over 3 hours on my hair and made sure I was satisfied even though he was also very busy with other customers. BEST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER. BOOK ALVIN AS YOUR HAIR STYLIST. I first contacted Tease on yelp to book an appointment for balayage. They promptly replied to me and we ended up taking on WeChat. There I sent Pictures of my desired hair and date and time I wanted to come in. I came on a Friday around 4pm for a light brown ombré balayage for my virgin black hair. My hair stylist was Alvin - who is also the owner of the salon. TRUST ME YOU WANT TO BOOK HIM- not only does he have +18 years of experience but he stayed with me until MIDNIGHT FOR MY HAIR. I did about two rounds of bleaching and color and then finished off with a treatment for my hair. Not only did he make sure every step was perfect - he truly cares about his patients and he will make sure you don't leave until you are satisfied. Even though the salon closed at 9pm he stayed with me till midnight until I got my perfect color I wanted - exactly like it photo I showed him- actually even better. The prices are so affordable and all the hair products they use are Japanese and less damaging than other salons. Lastly, after you change your hair color- you have a month to come in and do a FREE appointment where you can change your color or do a root touch up . Seriously, it's conveniently located under Toto ramen and the best salon experience I've been too. read more

Was looking for a new place to color my hair and found Tease and the reviews recommended Alvin.  I showed a photo of a steel grey blue ombre balayage.  My hair was previously dyed and grew out.  The whole process took about 6 hours.  He trimmed my hair, bleached it twice, painted a darker color on my roots and recommended a blueish purple color for the hair so it'll look more feminine.  I trusted his judgement.  The color came out wonderful.  Its more blue purple than grey but still looked work appropriate.  In person it looks dark ashy blue, but under lighting in photos it looks almost purple.  The price was very reasonable with the 20% promotion and included the cut, milbon treatment, and touch up/new color if I come back in a month. read more

First, the address on Yelp is incorrect as they have moved. I wasn't told this and no one picked up when I called. I finally found the salon and they took my temperature as well as sprayed my shoes. I got there at 11 and by 11:30, I left, because I was sitting for about 20-30 minutes without being helped. There were 3 workers and no one told me what was going on but it seems as if they were waiting for someone to start working. Someone came in and got a consultation immediately but anyways, I got up and told them I needed to go because I had to be somewhere by 12. I had such a fantastic time here! Everyone is really sweet and Alvin is amazing. English is not a problem but knowing Chinese definitely makes conversation flow more easily. I've normally very lazy with my hair maintenance, which is very much at odds with my desired hair colors (recently, purple, silver, etc). I decided to come to get my roots touched up and my silver color refreshed, but wasn't sure what to expect. Alvin considered the history of my hair, how damaged my ends are, and really pulled out all stops -- and at a very reasonable price! Honestly I felt a little bad because he stayed so late to finish up my color, taking over five hours in all. It ended up matching the reference photo very well. Searched for a Salon in the Flushing, Queens area and Yelp sold me on trying this new Salon. My 1st impression of the Staff was friendly and attentive. I was offered water which was appreciated on a summer's day. They currently have a 20% off promotion on coloring, straightening and perms. I've decided to straighten my hair which includes a haircut. My stylish was Alvin, he's fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English - so communication was an non-issue. I didn't not feel rushed and they were very thorough with straightening my hair (and you can trust me - I have straighten my hear many times over the last decade, lol). It has been hard finding a place that knows how to layer and cut shorter hairstyles. My stylist was super attentive and spend the time and energy to flat iron my hair after a cut. Probably the worst place to get my hair dyed ever. Why? The color faded away just in few days(3days). I don't think this place uses quality products. Even the cheap CVS/Walgreens color dyes don't fade away in matter of days. Then it must be the quality of the workmanship, lack of experience, skills.
