If you're buying, here's what to expect: - Lisa will sit down with you and conduct a friendly interview on what you want to buy. - Lisa will recommend fantastic experts as part of your buying team: home insurance, lawyers, and mortgage lenders. The only recommendation we did not use was the home inspector due to scheduling and our own prior use. EVERY recommendation Lisa gives is a "tried and true" team member. They are all excellent. We used Jeff Nelson from Bank of America, Jeff Shargel's law office, and Matt Davison for the homeowner's insurance. All were excellent. - Lisa will email you listings of what you want, schedule showings, and give you open house notifications too. We saw a ton of properties in many towns -- Lisa does a lot of legwork. She even picked us up at the train station once when our car broke down. She goes ABOVE AND BEYOND! - Lisa is organized, fights for you, and is always your advocate. She asks questions you didn't even think of asking. - Lisa is super friendly, confident, smart, and a FANTASTIC negotiator. Even at our final home walkthrough, she found a minor item needing repair, got us monetary protection in the 11th hour (at closing!), and worked with the lawyers. She does this all with panache and friendliness. - Lisa is honest and tells you what you need to hear. She delivers bad news with such friendly skill and diplomacy, that you can't help but move forward with a better feeling instead of a negative one. She is such an excellent advocate. I highly, highly recommend her. She has a great communication style. Go to Lisa! We were in such good hands with many life changes happening all at once -- Lisa was there every step of the way. Happy house hunting! :)

Long story short: she was everything and more! She took us all over the city and surrounding towns to search for the perfect home. Every weekend she updated us with open houses, checked in with us often and when we did attend showings together, she knew just what to ask the seller's agent. She remembered what we both specifically looked for in a home and went out of her way to find that. She was always available and responsive to calls or emails. Lisa is not only a wonderful person, full of energy and so friendly, she is extremely adept at negotiating with sellers agents and hooking us up to excellent lenders and attorney. We felt she was really looking out for us every step of the way, and count her as a friend! It was a memorable and positive experience buying our first home at Griffin, and we have been telling all friends and family about our experience, and hope this entry will help you feel confident about working with them too! We are also planning on coming back to Lisa when we eventually sell and buy our next home. 5 stars all the way!

*this review is for Valerie Foster Filiberto*…read more As a first-time homebuyer, I came to Val with an ambitious goal: find and close on a condo within two months to avoid renewing my lease. It was a tall order, but Val and I got to work immediately, and she delivered! We searched listings together, and Val connected me with properties and opportunities I wouldn't have found on my own ~ she has access to a private network of properties not yet listed on MLS that only the elite top 10% of sellers are invited into, super cool! She guided me through every step, from tours and offers to inspections, negotiations, and closing. What stood out most was how strongly she advocated for me. She never pressured me beyond my budget, welcomed every question, and made sure my concerns were addressed. Val was knowledgeable, approachable, and incredibly responsive--often calling me back immediately and sending follow-up emails before we even finished our conversation. My attorney and father were also impressed by her communication and professionalism. Val made an intimidating process feel manageable and protected my interests throughout. We successfully closed within my timeline (even earlier!), and on closing day, she surprised me with cookies and a beautiful jar--the sweetest first gift for my new home :) I couldn't recommend her more highly to anyone looking to purchase a home. she truly cares about her clients and does honest business with all involved parties. I'm so grateful she was recommended to me! thank you so much for everything Val!!!

Linda went above and beyond at EVERY turn -- from the initial marketing of the house, to the pricing of the house... to "talking me in off the ledge" a couple of times, to making sure everything was as it said it was, to making sure things were up to code. There is not a single detail that was too small to gain Linda's attention, and she executed on those details with absolute precision. Things started to get a bit weird around the closing -- Linda handled it with expert competence [me? not so much]. There is no way I can express my complete gratitude to Linda / Homes of Distinction for the tireless work and consummate professionalism. If the rest of the real estate brokers [or for that matter -- human beings] were like Linda -- the world would be a far, FAR better place!! ___________________________________________________________ I originally posted this review on Google 3 years ago. Since that time I have purchased houses for 2 of my kids as well as myself. I knew Linda was good, but I seriously had no idea just how amazing she is!!! By far, the best real estate agent with whom I have ever worked!!!! My only regret is that this system only has 5 stars -- Linda deserves at LEAST 7!!

We met Linda at one of our first open houses at the beginning of 2013. Linda was the listing agent…read moreof that property, which we did not care for. She then inquired if we needed a buyer's agent -- we didn't start off needing one, but figured it wouldn't hurt. Unlike my past experience with another agent in another town who only made me sign papers that binded me to using her without much benefit to my end, Linda started working with us immediately without any binders. Also unlike my last agent who did nothing more than showing up with a means of access (i.e. could not answer any question about the property), Linda came to our subsequent showings punctually and fully prepared: she took careful notes of our wish list, studied the recent history on a potential property before showing us (and would offer to pull permits/paperwork as proof of major work done), had the comps available for our reference, and gave us professional input on which "blemishes" were acceptable and which were the red flags. As first-time homebuyers, we found her guidance and opinions very useful and valuable -- we always learned something new at each showing! Throughout our house-hunting journey, we found that Linda was not just here to sell us any house so she could collect her commission check; she was here to educate us as buyers, and we could feel that she genuinely wanted us to be happy and comfortable with what we wanted to buy. Her motto is "If this is not the one for you, there will be one down the road." Linda always took notes of our feedback at each showing, and would leave the decision to us. She never pressured us into doing anything we were not comfortable with, and she was utterly respectful to our personal styles and opinions. Overall, Linda never comes across as a "sales rep" to us; she shows genuine care about her clients, from each and every showing to the signing papers stage. Linda has great work ethics, and would make sure that she is readily available to answer any questions or concerns in the process. Linda is naturally a warm and caring person, but she is also capable of maintaining the professionalism in her trade. Linda had not only done a superb job in helping us find and purchase our first home that should last many years to come, she had also become an ally and a friend whom we can trust down the road. We could not have been luckier that we met her by chance! We would recommend Linda Dillon from Homes of Distinction Realty to anyone without hesitation.

She has very deep knowledge of Newton and the areas she works in: local trends in the market, developers who are active, neighborhood differences. She's been quite patient with us when taking our time to decide what would work. She's very honest and plainspoken when she feels what's being asked isn't realistic. She's hyper organized and makes juggling the million steps and laws look easy. She's hyper connected to all the people you need... need a stager? I want to echo the review from Scott H…read more My wife and I sold our house about 10 days ago with Marie's help. It was a great experience and she did a great job. We could not be happier. Originally, I wasn't sold on the idea of using a real estate agent. I was considering selling the house myself. A friend recommended Marie and she came up and met with us for about two hours. We were impressed and decided to hire her. She did a great job of balancing our input with her expertise. Marie hadn't sold a house in our neighborhood before and was very open to what we had to say. She also was honest about how she saw our house. In the end, we listed the house for an aggressive price and got the full asking price. We not only had one offer at full price but we had a backup offer also at full price if the first one fell through. You couldn't ask for more. One of the great things that she did was bring in a team of "home stagers" to give us guidance on how to prepare the house for sale. We ended up doing everything they suggested and it was worth it. It was a bunch of work getting the house ready to be shown, we had to pack a bunch of stuff and move some furniture around, but it resulted in us getting the price we wanted and selling the house in ten days. She also brought in a professional photographer to take pictures. This wasn't the easiest thing to do since we were taking pictures in February of 2015 and there was about 5 feet of snow on the ground. The pictures did a great job of showcasing the house. Not to sing her praises even more, but she also did a great job of negotiating. The buyer's real estate agent was a bit of a challenge to work with, but Marie represented our interests firmly but politely and in the end, everything went very well. To wrap this up, I would highly recommend Marie if you are selling (or buying) a house in the Boston area. She is very professional, friendly and responsive. We could not be happier.
