My boyfriend and I had THE BEST experience with Patrick and MDI e-bikes! This was our first time ever renting e-bikes, and what better place to do it than in Acadia. Not only was Patrick such an amazing person to work with, you can tell he really cares about his company and the people that rent from him. And the bikes were TOP TIER! We were able to enjoy our whole day exploring the carriage trails without any worry about the batteries dying. We did the big loop around Eagle Lake, down to Jordan Pond House and around the big mountain with about 50% (9am-3pm) juice left once we returned the bikes. We also had other family members who rented e-bikes from other companies for a cheaper price and all of their batteries died mid-way so they had to bike back, which was a bit rough for them. It's totally worth spending a bit more for a higher quality bike like MDI!! Thanks Patrick, you provided us with the best day of our trip! Our family loved this experience, it was fun, active, and scenic. The business owner, Patrick, is just starting out, but you wouldn't know it. His bikes are truly the best E-Bikes on the market and he is so knowledgeable on how to upkeep and fix any problems they might have (we had none). He is also super personable and fun. Our family went out for 50 miles on the carriage roads and still had plenty of charge left. As a family he has done many e bike adventures, this one was by far the best. Although his website said we could only have the hikes for 6hrs, he said we could have them for as long as we wanted. He wasn't "Rulesy" at all, and just wanted to make his customers happy. My wife and I rented e-bikes from Patrick today. The forecast called for rain & he offered to let us cancel at no charge because he didn't want us to have a bad experience. We only had two days left in our trip & thought what the heck - let's go for it. We got SOAKED but had an amazing time - one that we'll remember for a long time to come. The bikes were phenomenal. Made the trails so much more enjoyable than if we'd had to fight to pedal all the inclines on our own power. We went for a good five hours and barely used 1/3 of the batteries! We couldn't be happier with our experience with Patrick & MDI e-bikes & wholeheartedly recommend this business to anyone looking to rent e-bikes in Acadia National Park. read more

Our adult family of 6 had a fantastic time riding e-bikes on the carridge trails at Acadia. Patrick the owner was easy to find at the Hulls Cove Visitors Center and gave indivdualized fittings and instructions on his nearly new bikes. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use, equalizing the playing field for our diverse riders ranging in size from 5 to 6 feet tall. Patrick was easy to talk to and communicate with before, during and after the ride. No worries about finishing the adventure by a certain time- we merely had to drop the bikes at the end of the parking lot and text Patrick that we were done. Patrick was so helpful and so friendly! We booked last minute and he had us test drive our bikes to make sure they were comfortable, he even helped adjust the seat for me I'm barely 5ft on a good day. His customer service and professional attitude made this adventure event better and once we come back to Bar Harbor we will gladly rent again from him! The bikes were not only beautiful but easy to maneuver. and he provided locks aswell for when you go exploring! He provided a helmet and even got us a map and suggested which trails we should do. Patrick with MDI e-bikes was a great person to rent from. He was very knowledgeable about the bikes and the trail system/park. The pickup/drop off instructions were clear and he was easy to reach if we had questions. The bikes were comfortable and easy to use, and we had no worries about the charge running out during our day. Meeting at Hull's Cove is a lot easier than renting from a shop in Bar Harbor, since there is ample parking and the Carriage Roads are right there! If you want to ride the carriage roads in Acadia, I would highly recommend renting from MDI e-bikes. Patrick, the owner, has a small fleet of very high quality e-bikes and we rode them easily and battery lasts forever. Patrick is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. He took lots of time to show us how to use the bikes and make sure we were familiar with the trails. I had an amazing experience with MDI e-Bikes. Witch Hole Pond was beautiful and I saw several turtles on the journey. I also did the Eagle Lake loop including Bubble Pond. I took some quick pics there. The e-Bikes are very smooth and powerful with a saddle bag big enough to hold my water, cellphone and other items. I highly recommend MDI e-Bikes. Patrick was the best person, funny, but down to business, very helpful. 100% i would rent from here, we heard complaints on the trails from other electric bike riders, that said they couldnt get up the hills, even with the electric bike..
