I was told everywhere from 9 months to 1.5 years. Because we didn't have 7-9 months to plan for a baby coming, our options were limited. My daughter started going here when she was 7 weeks old and she went until she was 11 months when we moved to NYC. The teachers were really great and my daughter seemed to really like it and didn't seem adverse to going. We stayed in NY for a year and when we got back, we enrolled her again. She loves her teachers. She talks about them all the time. The people who work here seem to really care about the kids. I also like the fact that everyone who works there knows the kids names even if they aren't in that class (pre k teachers knowing 2 year olds). The place is really clean and that's also important. The price is also fairly economical (compared to a lot of other places I had talked to) which helps. They only seem to have waiting lists for Pre K, but for infants and toddlers, they have an extra room so if they need to open it up to fix the teacher/student ratio they do.

The daycare thing is pretty new to us and leaving the boys for the first time was a bit nerve racking but now I know, with no doubt, that they are at one of the best Centers in town.

A hot mess! The start date for class was postponed two weeks later the day BEFORE the original…read morestart date because of a "family emergency". Two weeks later we're told we have a new instructor just for the second day another family emergency occurs with her which isn't her fault. However the following day everyone is waiting outside the locked doors 15 minutes after class was supposed to start because no one's there! No lights, doors locked, no one was answering our calls, no emails or a heads up, nothing! Our class of 25 dropped to 8 that following week because the lack of unprofessionalism and communication was absurd. The one saving grace out of this school was our instructor Miss Terri. She went above and beyond making sure we weren't behind on our course due to the inconveniences that occurred that disrupted our learning days. She was patient, understanding, and lit up the classroom with her lively energy. If it wasn't for her I think the course would've been postponed again for god knows how long until they found another teacher on short notice, she saved my time and made sticking through the struggles worth it. I couldn't be more grateful but besides that I would not recommend. The lack of communication was terrible from the people in charge and even though Google reviews has a high rating (god knows how) I recommend going somewhere else for these kind of certifications. Yes it might cost a bit more but trust no low price is worth the headache and uncertainty.

After several weeks and a conference with my sons teacher and director, it was obvious this was not a good fit for our son or family. If you have a busy boy, a social child, or a child with a vivid imagination- be warned- he or she will not be perceived well. If you are a mama who communicates- this is not the place for you. I have older children in highschool and have never had a back and forth in a parent teacher conference. I was told by the teacher that she is great at activities and puzzles but she used to get upset at certain points of the time. It was told to me that being upset like this was disturbing to other children and so I should pick her up early every day. She only went to YCS for 10 days and that was it. The teachers don't know how to handle a 3 year old kid. It makes me very happy that I made the decision to withdraw her from YCS.
