This review is coming from an employee point of view regarding the center manager, Melonie Boddie, of Brandon, Clearwater and Lakeland. The most alarming incident was the most recent where I was kicked in the lower abdomen by a patient and am currently pregnant. I told her I needed help with filing a work comp, not only did she not follow up with me, she lied to her superiors about walking me through it. When I followed up with the Director of Quality, they had no idea what happened or why my paperwork was not filed. When I submitted my paperwork to Melanie Boddie, she did nothing with it. She called me later and admitted she didn't know what she was supposed to do or where she was supposed to submit it. (And had I not followed up, no paperwork would have been filed.) When I made management aware, HR simply stated in our meeting that, "These things happen in this field," and I completely understand that, but I am pregnant so there is cause for concern. Instead, the situation was downplayed and management continued to label this negligence and incompetence as "miscommunication." There were also multiple complaints before this incident where I requested to transfer to another location and my request was denied forcing me to stay in a toxic environment which I already made management aware of specifically due to Melanie Boddie's incompetence; giving me no choice but to look for other employment opportunities. I have received two apologies for the delay in my care, none of which were from management or Melanie Boddie herself. She doesn't take any accountability for any errors. The list of her errors are lengthy but this incident crossed the line. When I finally did get my work comp filed, it was evident that no OB would take this claim as a work comp, probably due to the liability and when I told the adjuster that I went to the ER because I could no longer wait for the work comp claim information, she was irritated that I didn't wait for that information after I was already hemorrhaging for several days and would have to do extra work to call the hospital and give them more information. Not only has this entire experience been a nightmare, but I only worked here for 4 months and the list of errors on Melanie Boddie's part are endless. Not only does she not take accountability, management continues to make excuses on her behalf and label these incidents as "miscommunication" when the problem is clearly the center manager who allows her personal feelings to intervene with employee evaluations, does not have any clinical experience except for front desk work and going to Medical Assistant school but never taking the exam, and works from home half the time, the other portion of the time, she is taking time off, complaining about whether or not her PTO is going to get approved, and asking other people specific details about the job that she is supposed to know. I am writing this today after learning how happy she was that I put in my notice and I no longer work for this company but there is nothing to be happy about here. Melanie is a sad excuse for a center manager and I feel very sorry for the next person that she fails and management labeling it a "miscommunication" at the expense of an employee because if it happened to me, it will happen to someone else. The list is much longer than what I explained here and I've kept documentation of multiple incidences. It would be different if Melanie felt any kind of remorse but not even receiving an apology after another one of her errors and now learning about how happy she is that I am no longer working there, did not sit well with me. read more
