I arrived early which was a mistake. I ended up waiting over an hour to be brought back to a room to wait more. They request payment prior to seeing anyone. Only in he state of Florida you have to pay to see a medical professional before services are rendered. While waiting I was subjected to Dr Phil on the television talking about torture and killing. I requested that the television be lowered and my request was ignored. I would never come back here again. They treat you against your own will. Then they force you to pay for it. They violate patient rights and wishes because they are money hungry. I've tried to be nice but I've been dealing with this since November. It's February. I was charged for a $65 COVID Test at my visit in November. I repeatedly told them I did not want that test because it's an extra $65, and I had tested before I came in. But they did it anyway violating my patient rights. I did not sign a specific consent form for a COVID test, and the center cannot provide one. I contacted Customer Service, and they told me to reach out to the center directly to update the bill. This center told me I'm out of luck because the test was performed even though I told them no. So I have to pay. "Oh sorry yeah we know you didn't want one, but we did it anyway so you gotta pay for it". Wtf? No wonder no one trusts this place anymore. Customer Service can't reverse their decision either. I did not want this test because I knew it was $65 out of pocket and I had already tested at home. I told them so many times, the doctor, front desk etc. Only to find out they violated my patient wishes and did it anyway because they want an extra $65. Anything they can tack onto a 2nd bill - they will. I did not consent to this test, nor did they even tell me they were doing it!!! This Advent center is treating people for things they specifically DID NOT ask for, that's scary. I wonder what else they've done. I won't be back to find out. This place used to be great. However, the last two visits have been horrible. Starting with the first one. After making an appointment online I showed up to be told I did not have an appointment. After showing them my text confirmation, I was told it was a system glitch. They said they would work me in. I waited an hour in the lobby. I then went and asked how much longer? I was told another 1.5-2hours. Only one person working today. I asked why didn't you mention this when we were discussing my system glitch appointment. The girl said you didn't ask me for a wait time. I left and never met with doctor. The second situation was my son was sick and I decided I would try one more time as previously I had good experiences. I scheduled 2 appointments in the same day due to being turned away for the 1st appointment. I contacted the office prior to scheduling to gather mother information in regard to items needed. I was provided one thing over the phone and another in person. I requested for the needed document to be emailed or faxed over and was stated that could not happen. I spoke with the office manager after my son left who advised the front desk associate was incorrect in not sending me the docs. This was after requesting to speak with the manager and told she was at lunch; she would have to call me back. 2nd appointment was at 4:20pm, I checked in at 4:22pm and was not seen until 7pm. I asked about the wait time, and she stated there was 2 people ahead of him at 5:00pm. I exited the facility at 5:20pm and his sister stayed (adult) waiting for him to be seen. I checked back in at the front counter at 6:20pm, as everyone who was in the lobby with my son prior to be exiting was gone. There was one new person and he still had not been seen. There was a request for the cooperate number and she found the smallest sticky note she could find, gave me the office number and the number for financial services. She had no sense of empathy, consideration nor good listening skills. She was not attentive at all and very rude. I have health insurance and could go to my PCP, but Adventhealth Centra Care has always been great to my family but these last couple of experiences have me rethinking my life. read more

Don't waste your time here. If could give this facility 0 stars I would. I have taken my baby here two times and have been turned around both times. The first time I came to this office there was no one in the waiting room but they said they couldn't see me because I didn't have a time slot. This is supposed to be a walk in clinic... The second time I scheduled an appointment online for my daughter and when I took her in she said there were no providers in. The parking lot had multiple cars parked but no Dr?... I'm not sure why they were staffed like a normal day but didn't have a Dr. This facility needs new management of they can't be a reliable source to people in need. I moved to Brandon, Fl in December, 2019 and didn't have a PCP yet. During the Covid19 virus situation I developed allergies and felt terrible. I looked these folks up with my insurance company and they were fantastic. When I pulled up they interviewed me prior to going in, gave me a mask told me to wait in the car (in case I was contagious), I immediately got a phone call from inside telling me to come in, then was taken back to an exam room right away. Needless to say it turned out to be sinusitis, for some meds and within five days I was feel much, much better. They were Thorough, professional, and on top of everything else extremely nice. Do not go here if you are a timely person or have short patience, I have a lot of patience and the wait time here is crazy. I have been here twice for simple tb test that are two step where the first visit you get a shot and the second visit they just look at your arm and sign a paper. My first visit I had an appointment and I arrived early where I had to wait 2 hours then be brought back to a room where I waited another hour till I was seen. My second time here I waited 2 hours just to get a freaking paper signed but I could hear everyone laughing and giggling in the back the whole time I waited. Mind you it's not like the place is super busy and there are 20 patients in front of me each time there has been about 4-5 people max. read more

I woke up this morning with body aches, chills, a headache and what I believed was a fever. I got tested for strep, COVID, and mono. While I was in the waiting room I overheard the doctor refer to me as dramatic. Honestly, this wouldn't usually bother me but what they don't know if that I am in the process of getting tested to see if I can donate a kidney to my 20 year old brother that is in end stage renal disease. My health right now is priority for both myself and my family. I sympathize with the fact that healthcare workers are so over worked right now but gaslighting your patients is not really going to change the results of a test. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. I went in for a dot physical, I got the horrible doctor that is Dr. Linda. I asked her to look at a 3rd degree burn on my finger she brushed it off didn't even glance at it told me just put cream on it, but didn't specify what kinda cream. I told her I didn't want to continue the physical after seeing her horrible bedside manner, she refused she literally wouldn't let me leave until she complete her exam I scheduled. Seriously if a patient says don't touch me, I don't want you to touch me a doctor should respect that. I called the office manager was on hold for an hour before I got to talk to her, only for her to tell me " let me talk to Linda and I'll call you back in 20 mins to an hour." She never called back so my only option left is to report the doctor and the office to Florida's medical board. Today we were told only one doctor showed up and no nurses and they need to take walk ins along with appointments. What is the point of an appointment? I was forced to pay over $100 before they would even start my visit. I provided my insurance information and told them it was covered under my insurance; however, the staff was very rude and demanding. So I paid because that was the only way they would see me. Over a month later and my insurance has already paid the entire claim, as I told them they would, and I still have to call and beg for my reimbursement. Now I have to wait 30 days for a check for something I should have never paid in the first place. Very rude and unprofessional! read more

Love waiting forever? Well then this is your place! I walked in and only one other person was on the lobby and I STILL waited over an hour! 2 receptionists and one doctor? Makes total sense! We had to wait for a very long time and then we heard many of the workers sitting at the desk having conversations with one another while patients are waiting in their rooms :(. First of all, the smell when you first walk in is atrocious. It smells like moldy wet dog. Second, the nurse that attended us did not pay attention to the paperwork in front of him that had all the information he needed on why I visited. He kept asking questions that were already on the paper and that he had already asked. As for the doctor who took care of me she seemed as if she did not care for what she was doing. She got in, was there for 3 minutes, and got out. The only good thing about the whole place was the coffee. I truly wouldn't recommend this place unless it's your only option. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I was hospitalized due to the dr telling me to do the wrong thing. I went in and the wait was longer than should have been. I get back and this older lady doctor (rudest lady) talking to me and my husband like I was 3 years old the whole time. Said I had the "stomach flu" she asked what I was taking for it, I said: "pepto" her head spinned and said no that's the worst thing you can take, insisted I take Imodium and tablets that keep me from being sick to my stomach. So I did exactly that. My diarrhea stopped, but my health continued to get worse. Day 6 of the flu I went to the ER, I knew something wasn't right. Turns out when you have a viral stomach bug you shouldn't take anything to keep you from getting it out. DID YOU KNOW YOU THAT YOU KNOW IT ALL RUDE DOCTOR?! DID YOU? So for days I kept it in making it worse. All my organs started to not work and my blood had no hemoglobins from being so dehydrated(which means my blood was like pudding) A 72 our bug turns into the worst 2 weeks of my life! Your dr could have killed me! You understand this?! And Don't you dare try to apologize for my experience either. You need to have her turned into the board. This place is extremely slow don't even waste your time coming here because they'll never get you in to be seen.

For starters their staff is not there to help you nor do they truly care. The entire time too they were gossiping about how they hate taking on medical students because they are too sensitive and don't know anything and how one doctor even made a girl cry. Then they make you wait forever even when it's not busy for literally nothing but "paperwork" that they never even give to you or have you fill out and then tell you you're good to go. They have horrible communication among their staff as well. As if that isn't bad enough they overcharge you for literally the worst care. Avoid going here at all costs if you can! read more

The most terrible customer service I've ever received in a health care facility! I've went it to this place feeling very sick with a sore throat, fever, dizziness and coughing. My copay was $300, which I wasn't mad about because I knew they were going to treat me. The doctor then prescribed me COUGH SYRUP! I could have gotten this myself over the counter! So I take the cough syrup and 3 days later I feel worse than I did on Monday!! I called back in to see if I could get something else and they tell me I will have to pay another $300 to be seen- so at this point $600 total just for them to find the correct medicine!!!!! This is the slowest location for care. After 2 hours, I saw the doctor for 2 minutes and then was left to continue waiting for another hour for my meds. The cost and time are not worth this. I feel like I should be able to rate this place in two different ways. One for the actual process and facility and one for the treatment and healthcare providers. 1. Facility and process - The place is new and beautiful. When you enter they have a very pleasant lobby that is spotless. The entire place actually was spotless and I really like that. It didn't have that depressed, dingy feeling most places like this have. The staff that took my information were ok. They weren't overly friendly but they weren't rude either. I had an appointment and I had filled out my registration paperwork online prior to coming in that day. I also still arrived about 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was checked in and then later called back to the office person because apparently they saw where I pre-registered but they were unable to get that information. So I had to fill out and sign a few forms I had already done online. I ended up waiting a good while to get in. I spent 30-40 minutes in the waiting room. Of course I have no knowledge of other people's appointment times etc but there were about 3 people who arrived after me and were taken in before me. Finally they called me back, took my vitals and they ushered me into a room. The person informed me that there was only one patient ahead of me. I was happy knowing maybe my waiting was over. Not so fast, I ended up waiting another 50 minutes to see the doctor. In the meantime, I had to again fill out more paperwork since my pre-registration wasn't able to be pulled up. I hate having to do things twice because someone else screwed up. I honestly was ready to walk out. I came very close to leaving. It was so frustrating to sit there in that tiny, freezing room. Finally the doctor came in. He was quick, thorough and actually quite enjoyable. I was happy that after seeing the doc the staff was quick to bring me my paperwork and discharge me. 2. Healthcare providers - Everyone I dealt with here as far as nurses or MA's were fantastic. The doctor specifically was wonderful. I felt like he really listened to me and responded to what I was saying. He asked me questions and was friendly and joked around but he didn't waste time either. He was patient and he let me ask questions too. I was most impressed that before he left the room he looked at me directly and asked if I felt comfortable with everything we had talked about that day and if I had any more questions. It was so refreshing to see a doctor that is efficient without being rushed. Honestly this doc was the saving grace of the entire experience. I ended up leaving happy knowing that I got some sound advice and even though the rest of the experience was poor. I hope they can get it together here. It is a great location and the facility itself is quite nice. read more

Worst place ever. They talk amongst there other coworkers and dont even think to check on there patient. There are atleast 10 empty rooms and only two are being used . (One being me) and i havent been checked on for atleast 20 minutes. It took me an hour basically to get into a room and then another hour just laying and waiting on a doctor. Or even a nurse. A dude fell asleep. On the bed. And i only wanted a simple check up. I know i have the flu and or the fever and wanted antibiotics for my sickness. My husband and I went yesterday to get COVID Tests. My husband's appointment was at 12:30 mine was at 2:30. My husband wasn't seen until 4 something. My husband works for Advent Health. After numerous calls while waiting in our car for many hours we had zero information,only that there were a few patients ahead of us. No time frame. After informing guy on the phone that he works in patient care and he'd NEVER make patients wait for hours and hours still nothing He finally got seen and tested and tested positive ,I went in to get tested immediately after and still had to wait well over an hour and finally tested but had to wait well over an hour for my results. Very short wait time and the nurse and receptionist were very nice and professional.The facility was very clean. However when it came time for my children to be seen by the NP, last name Valentine it didn't go so well. He was very nonchalant and made me feel like there was no reason for me to be there. Both children had a very bad sunburn as in raised more concerns and had more symptoms than the old run of the mill sun burn. Rash,fevers(not at the time we were seen),localized pain,swelling etc. He said that this was just a normal sunburn. No. Otherwise I would not have brought them in. Being a Floridian and a mother for 11 years I believe I know the difference between a normal sunburn and a more serious sunburn that raises concerns. He was condecending and absolutely no help . Just told me to put aloe on them and alternate motrin and tylenol (which I've already been doing) and to top it all off he DID NOT even look at both of my children's backs. Just one of their backs. On my oldest the burn was 80% on her back and he only looked at her arms. I will not be returning if he is working at the time. I'll be sure to call ahead to see who is the NP on duty. Every single time I've come here there's a wait, even with an appointment. I get it, doctors get behind. But an hour and a half behind just to be placed in a room is ridiculous. And now that they ask you to wait outside, when I get the call to come inside they expect you to know where to go.
