I have a…read more'73 Mercedes 450 SL (been in our family since it was new) that Imported Car Center maintains. If you are familiar with them, you'll appreciate that, for their time, these cars are relatively complex. In all sincerity, Arlo's shop is staffed by the only people I've encountered who actually have the expertise to work on the more complicated systems in the car (fuel injection, etc.) - to include Mercedes dealerships (shame on them, by the way - if you're going to brag about your brand's heritage, you should at least invest towards staffing that can work on the classics you've produced). Furthermore, I've yet to experience anything other than a fair shake from ICC on pricing. Early on in my life, I also owned a Jag XKE. I knew a lot about that car, and could do most of my own repairs. I can tell from talking to Arlo and his team that they know their way around vintage Jags as well. Well .. to each his own/her own, I guess. I won't be taking my car anywhere else.

This is a review of the service department…read more If you have a weird or obscure car by Vermont standards this is where you go. I have a 1997 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas that is a joy to drive but I have had many niggling issues with it. Arlo Cota and his team sorted me out in a matter of days. New battery, rear brake rotors and pads, and an electrical gremlin that was keeping the right front headlight from lighting fixed for a total of $1200. That included a fresh new VT safety inspection. Also, the shifter position sensor was getting a little janky and the car sometimes wouldn't start because it didn't know it was in Park. They fixed that. I am looking forward to ICC working on the hydraulic system in my 1987 Rolls. They did me right on my Jag and they'll do me right on my PMC. There are some haters saying Arlo is a shady guy. I disagree. Those people want to drive a distinctive car but get resentful went it costs them more than driving a Camry. I bought one of my first college cars, a 1984 Jetta, from Arlo, and he took good care of me then as he does now. Rob the service writer is also a peach to deal with. Super nice guy. Got a Peugeot? Citroen project? Old fiat? Alfa? Bentley Turbo R? These muhfuhs know what they're looking at. They're the only people in this area who do. If you have an Audi, Subaru, or BMW, I recommend Nate's Automotive in Essex. But if you have something that's weird to others but beloved to you as a regular driver, take it to Arlo and his team.

It's honestly such a shame, I wanted to like this place and leave a solid review but I was sadly…read moremistaken. Buying the truck was awesome, great communication, and a super quick and easy process. Warranty was purchased with the vehicle and paid full price (over $22,000). In the first month I owned the truck, typical used vehicle stuff happened, they sorted it out for me no worries right? 3 weeks after I bought the truck the transmission completely failed after having just put just over a thousand miles on it. Slipped out of gear in third, then completely lost power and knocked and went into limp mode. It's a known issue on these trucks that CDF drums fail. I bought the truck to my local transmission shop and they confirmed exactly what I thought it was. Remember how I bought warranty? Ha well it only covers a maximum of $5500 of parts and Labor and the transmission repair/replacement was $7500. So here I am $2000 out of pocket. There I was thinking maybe they'll cover the repair or at least help me out, pffft not a chance, gave me a whole spiel and every excuse under the sun saying that these "shops", are not trustworthy and they're charging me too much and so fourth. Marin told me he had just sent a 10 speed to get rebuilt, and that he might be able to help. He also said "oh I'll also see if my mechanic wants to do it", no offense mate but that alone is just bullshit. If a customer buys a vehicle from your business, you should make time for your customers or at least make an effort. I ended up replacing the transmission at my expense with no help from these con artists. No communication has been made with me, let alone they ghost my phone calls, and want nothing to do with me or the truck. Do not buy anything from here they are selling used garbage that isn't worth the money, don't be fooled by the price. If you do, bring someone who knows cars or the car inside and out because they're a bunch of liar's (not the mechanic who fixed the wiper arms he seems like the only one with some integrity). Stay away from here get a certified vehicle it's worth it!

The next experience was getting snow tires. I called another store to get snow tires and could not get in contact with anyone. Champlain Valley Auto came to mind. I talked to them about my car and they gave me two options. I was new to Vermont and they could have taken advantage of me selling me the higher priced tires. But, they asked questions about where we drive and told me the lower cost tires would work for our needs. When I went in to the store, the woman working took me to the tires, showed me them and gave me a story of her experience using them. I was happy with my purchase and still am. I will continue to do business here.

They lost a keyed lug nut and the key. They did not admit to it. They refused to take responsibility once I brought it to their attention. They lied that they used a tool that they had in the shop to remove my lug nuts, which was disproved when I asked them to take the keyed nuts off of the other wheels so I would not be stranded when they had a flat. They were unable to produce the tool, but still would not take responsibility. I had to pay $100 elsewhere to fix their mistake. Then I saw in the paper that they were selling cocaine out of the shop. Explains a lot.

At a friend's recommendation I brought the car to Washburn's, and I couldn't have had a better experience. Erin (the owner) handled everything - submitting the estimate, dealing with the insurance adjuster, and even coordinated a rental vehicle for us (it was ready and waiting for me at the shop when I dropped off the car to be worked on.) I could not be happier with the quality of the repair, as well as the paint work that was performed. I looked over the repaired area very thoroughly trying to find something that was done incorrectly/poorly, and couldn't find anything. I highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a high quality repair to their vehicle.
