I scheduled a lesson with Mark Parson, and it was the best lesson that I've ever had. Upon arrival, Mark had me hit about a dozen balls with whatever club I felt the most comfortable with. Mark suggested that I put my left thumb in the 1 o'clock position and open the club face about 1 degree. I then hit another dozen balls, and immediately my ball contact was 50% much better and more consistent. He then noticed that I couldn't do a full turn, so he suggested opening up my left toe about 30 degrees and trying to rotate my right heel to hit an imaginary range bucket with my right ankle on the turn. I hit some more balls, and I could definitely feel a big difference with my follow through.
I love the fact that Mark looked at my grip, swing, and form, and didn't tell me what the textbook says. He basically took what I had, and tweaked it by making suggestions and explaining the fundamentals behind it.
I still have a lot of practicing to do at the range, which I hate, but I can't wait to see my scores 2-3 strokes better than what I usually hit. 'm looking forward to seeing Mark again in July/August so that he can help me with my short game.
I highly recommend this Mark and the MC Golf Academy for all skill levels. read more
