That being said, it is fairly efficient at hearding people who may not be used to air travel. TSA is always running at maximum capacity, they are not the friendliest of representatives, but they get it done. The gates are too small and are showing their age and their bathrooms are not really equipped for the amount of traffic. They are just prepping you for future queues. However, if you are going to the happiest place on earth, this is the gateway there.

Luckily we still had enough time to grab food beforehand. The food court had decent options, nothing amazing, but enough variety to find something. It also looked like they had some pretty good shopping spots, but I didn't really get a chance to explore before boarding. Overall, no complaints and nothing super memorable either. Just another functional airport experience.

I needed to book a flight home with only a few days notice. I was looking at all of the airports within a 3 hour radius of Jacksonville. To my surprise Daytona was actually cheaper than JAX or MCO, and it's significantly closer to Jacksonville. I decided to give it a chance and I was quite surprised. The drop off area is small but had enough space for the departing people to unload. There were a few gates and then a quick walk to TSA security. We have pre-check and only had one person in front of us. I will say, for such a small airport, these were some of the rudest TSA employees I have ever met. Usually they are somewhat friendly and say hello, not here. At least not the 2 I came into contact with in the beginning. Considering there wasn't many people, we were done in a matter of minutes, including the additional screening time, due to my Buccees BBQ sandwich that had been wrapped in foil, whoops. That TSA agent was actually funny and had a good laugh at my food I brought for the flight. There were only 3 departing flights that afternoon and there are only 6 gates so walking to the last gate in the terminal was very quick. There was enough seating for the flights. There aren't many food and drink options, but it was not a big deal. Overall this was an easy airport to fly out of and I would happily fly out of here again.

Arrived at 5 for a 6 flight, pre check but still went through quickly for all passengers. Pickup and drop off were both smooth, and it's well situated. Basically a 10-15 minute drive from everywhere you'd want to go quickly(the track, the beach, a resort etc.). I also appreciated the business center - it was quiet most importantly, but also modern.

They wave the first landing of the day for aircraft under 5000 lbs, but otherwise will bill you $3/1000 lbs per landing, They are also charging $20 if you want to land a helicopter. The vendor they are using (Vector) does not immediately bill you and it may be several weeks later that you receive the bill. Vector also refuses to publish a list of airports where they charge for landing. It is not well know and is in so way transparent. AVOID flying here.

Finding an Uber was easy and quick. Departure was a little more annoying. I'm not sure why there were so many self check kiosks if you still have to stand in line again for checked bags, but it was an annoying amount of extra waiting. TSA line was ok, but pre-check did not go as quickly as I am used to. Lounges were decent here. There was a sky club and also a priority pass lounge and we tried each. The airport itself is showing its age a bit and could use a refresh. But still beats the other airport

The shuttle was easy to get to. The other issue was the wasn't much places to sit in the airport, lots of empty spaces with nothing in it. Please put more seating in those areas. Departure was easier the car return area was directly connected to the shuttle to get to the main entrance of the airport. TSA was a little busy but wasn't too bad. Staff was pretty good.
