Park amenities include a shade covered playground, covered basketball court, three sports fields, concession stand, dog run, exercise path, and disc golf. There is also a building that can be rented for meetings, special events, classes, and private parties. There is a plenty of parking for the recreational leagues. I was surprised at how nicely kept this park is. On the day I visited there were several teams using the fields, a group of people enjoying the shade covered basketball courts, and another group playing disc golf. I walked around for exercise and checked out the wildlife near the water. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again but if you live in the neighborhood this is a wonderful recreational amenity to have.

They have a large basketball court area, a small park, football and 2 baseball fields. They do a lot of children's team leagues here. My nephew Jack plays here 3 days a week for a little league baseball team. He used to be on a soccer league here too a few years back that practices on the football field. They have a concession stand that is open during games that takes cash only. The park is kept pretty clean and the bathrooms are usually decent enough to use for a public park. There is plenty of parking in the lot. Most of the people that use this park either live in the neighborhood or just take their kids there for games etc. It's an ok park nothing special really.

They were among a half dozen sharecroppers who eventually were able to buy the land they farmed enabling them to work for themselves. Tony Mitchell helped those in his community get business loans and Cheatham Moore was the first African-American appointed to the City's Housing Authority. Mitchell and Moore were both instrumental in getting the city to create Westside Park in 1951 so that African-Americans in the segregated city would have a place for recreation. The park has now been named the Mitchell Moore Park and Community Center to honor the men's legacy. You can find the 16.1 acre Mitchell Moore Park next to Blanche Ely High School. Park amenities include a 10,000 square foot community center which has a gymnasium, arts and crafts room, meeting rooms, and kitchen. The park also has five lighted basketball courts, football/soccer field, picnic pavilion, playground area, lighted softball/baseball fields, four lighted tennis courts, volleyball courts, and the Houston/ Sworn Aquatic Center with 9, 25 yard lap lanes and 2, one meter spring boards. In 2021 The Orange Bowl Committee and the City of Pompano Beach partnered together to create a 4 million dollar recreation facility including a new football field known as Orange Bowl Field at Mitchell Moore Park. The Orange Bowl Committee's Legacy Parks program has provided over $21.5 million worth of improvements to selected South Florida parks and recreational facilities. Other improvements to the park included new synthetic turf football field, an electronic scoreboard, a new press box, shaded seating, an enhanced walking trail, and upgrades to the two existing baseball fields, and building refurbishments. Mitchell/Moore Park brings the community together. The park hosts many events. sports teams, lessons, and activities like summer dive in movies at the pool. The football field is state of the art and gives the youth in the city a safe place to practice sports and learn all the great lessons that come with it. There are so many recreational opportunities to enjoy in this well appointed park.

This five acre park is located in Palm Aire in Pompano Beach. It had its grand opening 12 years ago…read moreon December 10, 2011. It was named in honor of Pompano Beach Commissioner George Brummer who was elected in June of 2003. He was the successor to his friend, the late Vice Mayor Herb Skolnick, who served three decades. Brummer was well known and liked in Palm Aire where he served as President of the Civic Association. He was the one to suggest the creation of a park for Palm Aire. At the opening of the park George Brummer was praised for his leadership in both business and community issues and he was recognized as a champion for the Palm Aire community. At the dedication Brummer said he wanted people to use and enjoy the park. George Brummer Park was designed to appeal to all ages from youth to seniors. Park amenities include six popular pickle ball courts, restrooms, large shade covered playground, benches, tennis courts, basketball court, bocce ball, handball, and outdoor exercise equipment. While I was visiting there was a children's birthday party and people were playing basketball. I was actually kind of surprised at how many people were using the park given the heat index. A lot of the people in Palm Aire live in multi story condo units and this is the only outdoor recreation area they have. Fortunately the park is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The City of Pompano did a great job exceeding Brummer's vision for a recreational area that the residents of Palm Aire can enjoy for years to come.

Cresthaven Park is a cute neighborhood park in the Cresthaven section of Pompano off of Copans…read moreRoad. Cresthaven used to be an elderly community but in the mid nineties young families began buying in the neighborhood because the prices were good for entry level home buyers. In 2000 Cresthaven a formerly an unincorporated community of about 3,000 homes and retail and industrial properties was incorporated into Pompano Beach. Cresthaven Park was created out of a vacant lot on the corner of Northeast 27th Court and Northeast 13th Avenue. The land was an old sewage pumping station owned by the county. Former President of the Cresthaven Civic Association, Virginia Eckberg and a few parents toured the lot with Broward County Commissioner Sylvia Poitier. With Poitiers help the lot was turned into Cresthaven Park in 1990 giving the children in the community a safe place to play. By giving families a place to take their children for recreation, Cresthaven Park became a stabilizing force in the community. Today Cresthaven has a few parking spots out front. The entire park is gated for safety. Inside the park there are restrooms, a paved walkway, a sand volleyball court, basketball court, lending library, and covered playground. My favorite part of the park was all of the native landscaping attracting bees, butterflies, and birds. I saw a gumbo limbo tree sometimes called the tourist tree because its bark looks like a tourists sunburned skin peeling along with butterfly attracting shrimp plants and dwarf jatropha. Cresthaven Park provides a much needed refuge of nature and recreation in the middle of an urban neighborhood.
