Not sure what happened to McMullen Ford but I will never take either of my 2 cars there again for service. We took our Ford Fusion in for a squealing noise. First they make you do a $179 diagnostic for something that should have been obvious and wouldn't waive the charge even though I was going to have them do the work to fix it. The issue was the front brake pads and they said that since they don't resurface the rotors I would need new rotors for the front as well. They quoted me $837.99 for just the front pads and rotors! This included the diagnostic charge but still, are you kidding me?? The diagnostic found a couple other issues but honestly I would want a second opinion on those especially since their quote was over $1000 on those. After I pushed back on the pricing, they offered a slight reduction in price on the pads/rotors, but not nearly enough to keep my business. I ate the diagnostic charge and couldn't get my car out of there fast enough. Beware! read more

Service date 2023-08-02 - never returning - details below We took our vehicle in for the works package. The shuttle driver to bring my wife home didn't use GPS. She had to give him directions. When the car was ready to be picked up, they called and were surprised they needed to come get her after having dropped her off earlier. A few minutes go by, and the driver calls to say he is here to pick her up... there is no one outside. She calls him back, turns out he went to the wrong house and is now still 15 minutes away. They need a better system for coordinating with their shuttle drivers. While the shuttle aspect is annoying and would have gotten 3 stars, the details below move it to a 1 star because there is not a lower rating. Upon return with the receipt, the works package which was the scheduled service, advertised at $74.95 ended up costing $89.09. This is the second time we have gone there and the billing has been higher than the advertised price. They know the vehicle they are servicing ahead of time, because part of scheduling the service requires the VIN. So, there shouldn't be anything unexpected, but there always is. The first time, I thought it could have been an honest mistake. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you. We will never return here again for service. Instead, we will choose to travel 96% farther to a different ford service center. read more

I was very disappointed this time around not because of the service but because of the pricing. $1170 was our quote to replace 2 motor mounts. I ended up taking it to another reputable shop here is town that completed the repairs for $805. I expect to pay a little more at the dealership but almost $400 difference for the same repair is a bit excessive. read more

I was traveling from Arizona to Wisconsin my vehicle was not running good had a gasket seal break in the transmission near Omaha Nebraska asked 2 or 3 Ford dealerships to diagnose the problem told me they couldn't look at it for a week so I called McMullen ford in concilbuffs Iowa and they said bring it in and will diagnose the problem that early afternoon even though they were really busy found out what was wrong and ordered parts from Kansas city and worked on it first thing the next day and they were very very helpful called for a room to stay and drove me there and picked me up I just want to thank McMullen ford what a blessing knowing people who take pride in there work getting travelers back on road home to Wisconsin I wish all dealerships would learn from there example of great service thank you again all of you at McMullen ford concil buffs Iowa read more

My husband and I bought our retirement car in 2013 at McMullen Ford. After owning the car for 5 years it started to have problems. McMullen Ford was real good at fixing it at first while my husband was still alive after my husband passed away I was ignored. I called numerous times to get the car in to be serviced as it was experiencing times where it would not run and was told that they would call me when they had a spot opened to take care of my car. This went on for well over a month, I would call they would tell me they would call me when they had a spot open they never called me my car was never fixed. The car was still under warranty as we bought the extended warranty. I ended up selling the car for a very low price and buying a used car to be able to get around as the 2013 Ford fusion did not run. So buyer beware if there's something wrong with the car they sell you and they have to fix it numerous times you will get to a point where they will no longer fix it for you even if it's under warranty. read more

I can only speak to my used car service experience so if you are buying a NEW car from them and get it serviced by them, everything may be entirely different for you. Noticed a leak on my 2010 Jeep. Brought it in to McMullen because it has been approximately 3 months and 3 weeks since I bought it FROM THEM. I have put less than 2,000 miles on the vehicle, living only 5 minutes from work. The service department quoted a price of $850 over the phone to get it fixed and that I would have to pay it entirely myself since my warranty expired on March 3rd 2017 and I was calling in on March 22nd 2017. I thought surely with the low miles of use and the time since purchase they would help pay for this repair. It took getting a hold of a manager outside the service department to say that they could cover half as a show of good faith. This was okay by me and I told them to go ahead. I got a loaner vehicle from them to get to and from work as a part needed had to be ordered. A day later I am called to say it is ready and that my half would be $500.68 Wait a minute. They were very specific about the 50/50 split and that my half would be $425 so what happened? The service department told me he read the wrong line quoting the parts cost only. I will never recommend this dealership for a used car for ANYONE. He would not stand by his original quote and I had to pay this new amount to get my vehicle back. On the phone he also attempted to make me think he was doing me a favor which I abruptly shot down. Never tell someone one price then expect them to pay another. McMullen or the service guy should have paid the $75.68 Stick to new vehicles with them. DO NOT BUY USED. read more

The salesman at McMullen Ford was not pushy, which we liked, I'd give him a 4. However, we specifically asked for a black bumper and grille on our new F250. The truck came in with a chrome bumper. We will now have to do an aftermarket swap. Additionally, the dealership charged too much for state registration. When queried the salesman was helpful but the lady in the title office at the dealership was brusque and borderline rude. Need to keep her away from customers. Also, because of the error in registration dealership then realized they had overcharged me $1000. This was sloppy back-office paperwork pushing. read more

This is by far the worst dealership We have dealt with. Purchased a new Edge in May and just had a tire go bad, They required us to purchase a 280.00 tire with no warranty at all . I took my car to the body shop to have the bumper covers and the trunks lid changed (I provided all the parts). I asked them to get it ready for a vinyl wrap, which they don't do and recommended a shop that does. They didn't bother to change the fog lights from the old one to the one I brought them. This would have been extremely fast and easy on the workbench. A friend looked at the trunk lid and asked why the gaps are so far off. The back fenders had dents about the size of an egg and they didn't bother to fix them! I was in a hurry when I picked it up and overlooked the damage they didn't fix. I moved out of town shortly thereafter or else I would take them to small claims court. I can NOT recommend them. When I complained to Matt, the body shop manager, he tried to smooth it over by telling me he fired the idiot that worked on it. read more

I appreciate the courtesy transportation. I really like having the service plan though. Just do whatever maintenance service is supposed to be done at that mileage mark. read more

I bought a used car from these yahoo's. I paid $10,000 cash for a car for my son to use for college. The car looked mint and had only 80,000 miles on it. I wasn't offered an extended warranty at time, and most likely wouldn't of thought I would need one. My son drove to college and returned wihin a month. We took it in to have the oil changed at Jiffy lube. They noticed it had a leak at the pan. So, we took it in to Mini Cooper BMW in Omaha. They found three leaks and a bad water pump. It was going to be $3500 to fix. I called McMullen spoke to the Owner Dan McMullen to see if they would remedy the situation, and he said tough, not his problem go pound sand. Do not buy a car from this dealership! if you do, have a mechanic check it out! Do not make the same mistake I made. One star is too generous! The service member acted like he had no idea what I was talking about after he looked up my vin number realized I wasn't lying I told him I receive free oil and last time I told a different ford a receive free oil 3,000 miles later my car is out of oil. The he made stupid excuses like because my car uses 5w20 and it's 2 yrs old it won't last as long. McMullen Ford was dishonest and flat out stole money from my parents who are both in their 80s. The new car was picked up on Saturday 6/3. They wanted to bring it back on Monday 6/5 because my Mother could not see well out of the car and my Father decided he was having a difficult time getting out. They would have brought the car back the very next day but it was Sunday and the dealership was closed. My parents asked for their trade and their money back. The salesperson said he didn't know where their van was. He put them off for two more days with excuses until they had enough and went in to discuss with Scott McMullen on 6/7. He said their car was now considered used, titled in their name and wanted to charge them $7000 to bring the vehicle back. Here is the best part....they asked for their van back on Monday 6/5. McMullen went ahead and sent the paperwork to the county days after they asked for their vehicle back and still titled in their name on 6/8. That is 3 days after my Dad asked for his van back. A day after they met with Scott McMullen who told them it was already titled in their name. They ended up keeping $5000 of my parent's money on a car they brought back with 49 miles on it. They could have given their van back and not sent the paperwork to the courthouse but they chose to get a sale on the books and take advantage of an elderly couple by putting them off long enough to get it titled in their name. They are crooks from the top down to the sales staff. DO NOT purchase a vehicle at McMullen Ford. There is no honesty or integrity at that dealership. I have a 2001 ford mustang, i have had it out to your service department 3 times and it is not fixed yet, had to have it towed back their today. The problem is the car will not start. now if you put battery chrarger on for a minute it will start but if you let it set two days it will not start they have put three batteries in it and said all three batteries had a dead cell, and then they put in alternator and voltage regulater and i spend out of money with the service department but have gotten now where. i do not believe they know what they are doing, they are just cheating me. my wifee bought a brand new focus two years ago and she want to buy another one next year but if you do not have good service will not get our business. i am going to pay all of this money for nothing done right. We recently purchased a vehicle through them. The salesmen we had helping us were nice people and did what they could do get us the price we wanted. The finance lady was a whole other story. We had our own financing so she was rude with us. My husband had to do all the work contacting the bank because she wouldn't deal with them. Said she wouldn't because they didn't report to the credit bureau. Salesmen had us contact our insurance company to fax papers for proof of insurance. 4 hours later, they get them, my husband hands them to the finance lady and tells him she doesn't need them. The dealerships we have dealt with will neatly fold up the papers and put in an envelope but she just hades my husband a stack of papers at the end. I figured with our own financing it wouldn't take as long but we were there from 1pm to 5:30pm. If it wasn't a vehicle we really wanted and was hard to find, we wouldn't have stayed. I know for a fact I won't ever go there again, so unprofessional and unorganized. I really hope they can find a new in their financial department. That was a big deal breaker. read more
