Five Stars, but a mixed review. Hard to find, as you see…read morethe sign, it should say to head down the corridor towards the water. The restaurant is smaller but is exactly as I want my Florida seafood restaurant to look like. You're able to eat on a covered deck or an uncovered deck as well, right on the water. Service is impeccable. Fast, friendly, and everyone checks on you making you feel like you are a valued customer. Food... The creativity is great. The flavors are excellent. The value is my only complaint. The drinks are expensive... $4 for iced tea is a turn off for me personally. I think the single crab cake was $18 and heavily drizzled in a mayonnaise sauce. Ugh! I was hoping for possibly 2 for that much. The calamari was a good size and delicious. The coconut shrimp was pretty good and the onion rings were good as well. I had a special with sea scallops and was surprised to only get 4 scallops for the price of a pound of sea scallops. Disappointing. The cornbread peach stuffing was ok, but not as good as I hoped. Overall I liked the place, the people and the food, but wasn't happy about the price/quantity.

Ambiance: Beachfront restaurant (well, sort of beachfront as…read morea Beach in this area is closed off for a major rebuilding process) it's your typical surfer, beachcomber, swimmer type restaurant that you'll find in most oceanfront areas. Weatherford wood walls, outside tables under an awning. Inside tables are also available, although, why anyone would choose an inside table when you have a front row seat to the ocean is beyond me. Interestingly,, they have a few swing tables that you can rock back-and-forth while you eat. Not sure how many people will choose those "moving'" tables but, they're an interesting idea nonetheless. Service: I was provided with my choice of table. (I chose the swinging tables (I just had to try The experience of swinging while eating - which was actually pretty pleasant).I was seated immediately upon my arrival. My server whose name was Cynthia whose name tag said Helga (don't ask) served me quickly and with a smile. She came by several times to check on my needs but was never an overpowering presence. Couldn't ask for anything more with a server. Be warned, (which my server by the way did warn me about.), They charge an automatic 18% gratuity on the bill. Not a problem in my case as a service was excellent. The food: I ordered the mushroom and brie omelette. It came with a side of potatoes and I requested a biscuit. The was your typical omelette the plus being the tomatoes were super fresh but could've had more brie. If potatoes were combined with peppers and onions and we're nice and crispy of friends just the way they should be). Unfortunately they were out of biscuits (even though they have a biscuits and gravy dish). How you run out of SKU Ott's on a Saturday morning is beyond me. My tea was your standard black tea (they did not have steamed milk) served with honey. Interestingly, they didn't have a decent size cup so I was provided with 2 cups and two teabags. The bottom line: As with all my reviews, my (Customer so what) would I return? This restaurant is not in my top 10 but, if the beach was reopened and I wanted an oceanfront dining experience this could be a pretty good place to visit. The service was excellent. The food pretty good and the atmosphere great.

With the beach erosion, you had to walk around to reach the beach. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. There are several long picnic tables you can sit at, so we grabbed one. The food was really good. My son had the burger - he said it was probably the best burger he has ever had!! I had one of their lunch specials: grilled cheese and bacon - it was great. Of the 8 of us, each had something different, and there were no complaints. Service was excellent. Very attentive and kind throughout our visit. We did tend to stay longer than usual as the drinks were flowing. Thankfully, we were there during the week, so it wasn't crowded. I highly recommend this restaurant. I am so glad we found it and will certainly be back when I am back for a visit.

You can sit outside in front of the place, outside upstairs or even a walk up bar. Either way, they have easy access. They also didn't freak out over a service dog, you'd be surprised how many places do. They have a separately priced ice cream parlor also, and it's yummy. The food is always good, no it's not a mom and pop, yes it's a chain, but the food is good and prices are reasonable (average $15-$20 per person).

Oh Crabby's. Shame on you…read more Why do you think your restaurant is empty during the busy holiday season? The crab is expensive, not fresh, tastes terrible and is smelly like the docks outside the place. Crabby's knows this. We expected an empty reply. Something like, 'sorry it didn't meet your high expectation.' 'Take more of your time to write us about it.' 'Our commitment to excellence.' M'am you're not honest. You know you are delivering garbage. How about we come by now and you give us our money back? We post when it is amazing. Or, when we wish we knew. Because we all felt sick after eating at Crabby's, and someone woke up sick we are taking time to warn. Crabby's has other reviews that say the same. The representative says they are sorry and makes excuses. Crabby's what do you like when you go out with our hard earned money? Crabby's, would you like us serving you a spoiled soaked salad that has been sitting around all day? Is that salt and sugar in the Caesar dressing? There was not a crisp fresh bite. You know this though, don't you? There is no excuse and apologies are insulting. The plates were sent out. What's the truth about your crab Crabby's? Discount, bulk, frozen? Once defrosted sitting around for days? The crab was a smaller portion than pictured. The charge is for the weight of the shells, not the food. There was very little food in the spoiled fishy tasting claws. We worked to crack through. The sauce, ewe. It was not edible. We were hungry. It was expensive. It was gross. The fact the place was pumped with freezing cold air at night caused the food to get cold immediately. We sat there freezing. One of us was wearing a coat we ski in. It was uncomfortable. People have posted about that before. Someone ordered tea, mentioning it's freezing. The server joked. No tea was served. The fish and chips... have you had fish and chips? Crabby's was one rubbery piece of disgusting cold fish. What kind, is hard to say. No crispy batter coating. Not a yummy bite. Cold fries. How do you ruin fries? The food sat on our plates. The server ignored that. We were polite to them and tipped. Dirty dishes piled up as we ate, crab shells and napkins piled up. Despite only a few other guests being there. No one asked did we need anything. No one asked did we need more water. We gave Crabby's a chance, after waiting a while to be seated. Crabby's stole from it's customers. You know you are delivering garbage. You know when you feel uncomfortable to leave plates full of food? The server instead of noting the obvious, the food is all still on the plates, no one touched the disgusting salad, what does that tell them? "Would you like some to-go boxes?" We thanked the server, tipped them for what they did not earn. So you take it. You know you will never eat it. You feel guilty for the wasted food. People, including ourselves are hungry. That was our fancy night out. We are on today's budget. When we went to the grocery store after, to get something to eat. We thought about the amount of hours we worked to pay for the Crabby's experience. Someone in our family works on their feet, a full time shift, to pay for that. Shame on you Crabby's. Nothing presented was edible. No care was in the customer experience. It was expensive. You have been told on Yelp, you are there, and you know better. Customers may like to know what you do to make this right Crabby's. Spare the empty apologies and phrases like 'sorry your experience didn't meet your expectations.' -in faith Thank you.

We arrived right at sunset, and the view alone was worth the trip--golden skies, boats drifting by, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. The crab cakes were excellent--crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The poppers were just as good, with a great crunch and bold taste. Everything came out fresh and well-prepared. Drinks were cold and refreshing, perfect for enjoying while watching the sunset over the water. What really adds to the experience is the live entertainment. On weekends, they have bands playing that bring that laid-back, Florida-chilled atmosphere to life without overwhelming the vibe. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience even better. This is more than just a place to eat--it's a full waterfront dining experience. Great food, great views, live music, and a true Florida feel.

First, our food took over an hour to come out to the table. There were others that were seated next to us 15-20 minutes after we were seated but had full meals delivered to them 15+ minutes before ours. We actually asked where our food was at that point, we hadn't ordered anything difficult - three sandwiches and an order of grilled scallops. Our food finally came out. The sandwiches were cold, bread/buns hard, meat very dry, no au jus with the two French dips - had to request it, scallops were okay but over-priced for what was served. While we waited for the food and then again while eating, we had to remind our server about drinks we'd ordered and were still waiting for. All tables around us remained un-bussed after other diners left, most sat for over 30 minutes with food and drink remnants, dishes, etc. At the end, the server brought us our bills and said "I think I may have mixed this up" - she had. So we had to sort that out for her so she could correct bills. Don't think we will be giving Manattee Grill another chance ... too many fails.
