I was billed and sent to collections for a copay that was payed up front. The office corrected this mistake, but how does that happen so frequently? They even have a box of "lost copays". Veronica, she is the nurse who hung up on my wife twice simply because she was agitated that my wife was struggling to find words to communicate regarding her missing prescription that was failed to be called in. Overall, I am still looking for a doctors office that is holistically centered, but with a professional office team.

The problem with this practice is that there is only one doctor -- the attention you will receive…read moreis very limited.  A long while ago this practice had two doctors, and at one point even three doctors, but for a number of years now there is only one -- Dr. Bernard Bernacki.  As an example of the lack of attention, I had my first physical after the pandemic (a 3 year gap) and the nurse took my blood pressure reading at 150/90.  I did not know this at the time, but this is a pretty bad reading.  However, not only did the nurse not remark about it, but Dr. Bernacki did not even mention this!  He should have at least warned me it was high, or maybe take a second blood pressure test himself.  I don't think he looked at my notes or anything.  All he did was listen to my heart with the stethoscope and ask me if there is anything he can do for me.  When I mentioned I have a partially clogged ear, he verified that there was a wax buildup and advised me to go to Rite-Aid and purchase an over-the-counter kit for cleaning ears.  Surely, either he or one of the nurses could have taken care of this right in the office. (My new doctor took care of this in under 3 minutes) Now, the real reason that made me decide to leave this doctor.  The general health blood test (something I requested -- it was not suggested by him) came back with some concerning results, and I have to say I was stressed out about it.  However, I never got a phone call back from the doctor.  He told his staff to tell me to get re-tested in two months.  I had many questions and would have appreciated some advice from a doctor, but I never received any. I cannot recommend this doctor.

Returning for tests and followup I was pleasantly suprised tat my first opinion was correct. A very well run and staffed by friendly staff. I did not have a choice on the hospital I went to, UPMC was the only place open and I was hardly even conscious when I arrived. For the love of god, if you have any choice on where you get your treatment, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. All Hospitals are expensive, but usually they are willing to actually work with you on the things they charge you for. UPMC has told me on no less than 4 occasions now that they will absolutely not work with me on my bill. I asked for explanations on things like the 10,000% mark-up on the same nausea medicine I get over the counter for $10, and every single time I'm told "Oh that's what it costs, this is a teaching hospital!". They don't even try to explain duplicate charges. I have been forced to take a ridiculous amount of time off of work to jump through their hoops only to get absolutely no where with them. Bonus points: Apparently the emails they have listed all over their website are not actually in use. They say they'll send you information in the mail, important things like the financial aid application you requested, and then they just won't. But they are real quick to threaten you with collections!

Had all medical records and refused to see or read them. Don't understand how he has a high rating on here. Doshi didn't review the health records documents I brought in with me, his staff was unprofessional AND kept my credit card during the visit on their desk- then two days later from appt a $725 charge went through on my debit card. they misspelled my name, and the charge on my CC had the same misspelled name - it was the STAFF who f r a u d u l e n t l y charged my card. I had to cancel my debit card and had no money in my account because of his staff, the monies were eventually returned by my CC company. This doctor should retire, he didn't examine me, awful staff, he held his computer standing up the entire time pacing in and out of the room, and refused to treat me. when I finished the visit, he gave me referrals to things that were not discussed in the merely 5 minutes, he didn't even examine me or listen to my complaints, as I was in medical distress. This is not anywhere you or your loved ones should visit, this doctor was awful and unprofessional and should not be practicing medicine anywhere, didn't want to go into medical conditions or anything - just out the door with a referral to have procedures done that were not discussed. STAY AWAY.

He's also on the conservative side (medically) and won't recommend serious action on whatever ails you until it's truly necessary. That being said, he's okay with being questioned and you can have a great dialogue with him if you want to. So many doctors seem to jump to treating the mildest symptoms with heavy antibiotics, etc. Not Dr. Danai - he's old-school in the best way and it's an honor to call him my doc!

He gives you ample time, listens, and gives common sense recommendations. His annual physicals are very thorough! With Covid, he has virtual visits. I like that he has training interns ensuring the next generation of doctors, PA, etc. are well trained. His office team is amazingly helpful with insurance and appointments. He keeps pretty close to his appointment times but doesn't rush you to ensure he understands your concerns.
