I would say it's best to stay away. Rating it 1 star because 0 isn't an option, and what's worse…read moreis, I don't think they even care. Reading other reviews, apparently I'm not the only one having a similar experience, not once but twice. How hard is it to write a prescription for PT? Apparently, it's out of the wheelhouse of the physician. First time, didn't code it right, and in reading it afterward, it was for the wrong body part. Took 2 weeks to get it rectified, along with 6 phone calls to the office, who apologized, and sent the exact same wrong prescription over to the PT place, finally corrected. Follow up appointment, I get 4 different texts, starting a week ahead asking me to confirm my appointment, which I did. The day of my appointment, I arrive on time, to find my appointment has been cancelled. Reason? Doctor had emergency surgery. Somebody called you, but no one answered. I have no idea who they called, but it wasn't me, show my phone history to the very nice receptionist, she sighs, and says well, they were supposed to call you. Phone number in the system is correct, but none of the other information is correct. They have an address that I haven't lived at in 26 years, I actually have no idea, how they have this address. Second time correcting that issue, and the follow up cancelled appointment is 2 months after the first visit. How long does it take them to correct an address? I see the doctor today which is 2 days after the cancelled appointment. Issues haven't changed, he asks me why I haven't had the MRI..... to which I replied "What MRI"?, they should have scheduled it at the front desk. Turns out it was scheduled, but the MRI place never called me (Or so they say). Go figure....probably got that same wrong phone number from the office. So, I tell the physician, the issues with the first prescription, and how it delayed care.....(crickets) didn't get a response. I check out, and I'm supposed to pick up a script for more PT and an MRI at the front desk. No script for PT, call goes back to the doctor, and I have to wait for the script, albeit only 15 minutes. Nurse apologizes, very nice, I didn't look at it, and left for the PT place to drop it off. Guess what? Wrong script, wrong body part. Script for MRI is correct, PT nope. How could this be anything other than the physician himself. It wasn't just a simple oops and some clerical mistakes, this entire operation from all aspects has no idea what they are doing, read the other reviews I am not an anomaly at all. Now the Physician. He is a spine doctor. I was referred to him by another orthopedist who said, not my specialty, and from your symptoms you need someone with this expertise. Correct just not this guy. She was willing to treat the issues I had with my knee which was very swollen, bruised and some meat removed from it. The first visit is about 1 1/2 months after the accident. After seeing him twice, I can't for the life of me fathom a guess as to why it took so long to get an appointment. I was in a head on auto accident with another vehicle who entered our lane of traffic. Now, I was specifically seeing him, because another physician recommended I see him, didn't pick him out of a phonebook or for any other reason. To say he seemed disinterested is being polite, barely examined me, and said it's going to take a long time until you feel better. The nurse had to bring up the chart for him to look at it and see for the first time. Same second go around, didn't bother to look and even question why a test he ordered wasn't performed, before going to see him a second time. Now my daughter was with me for the first exam. Her opinion was what a waste of time that was he barely looked at you. Second visit was shorter and less of an exam than the first. No follow up, no follow through, and couldn't be bothered. Do not waste your time, I went to a spine doctor who never physically examined my spine.

Services rendered are great. I've been treated by two different doctors. I'm satisfied with that…read more What ruins the experience is the billing staff or appointment staff. Since COVID I get a text for preregistration. I get this sometimes a whole week prior. I usually wait for the same day of the appointment to o fill it out as they require the co-pay to be paid as well. For this reason I wait in case they reschedule an appointment (which I've had appointments cancelled and not by me). Yet when texting in the past long lot that I'm present for my appointment I'm informed that the referral is expired. Why not tell me in text sent a week prior? I could've arranged to get the referral. Now I'm being stressed that I would be responsible , blah, blah blah. Plus when i do get the referral they insist on my primary to fax it over. They're busy as well. Train your people to go into the site and retrieve them or hire competent people to do so. Anyway. I cancelled the appoint and rescheduled. Not gonna jump through hoops. Although I'm hurting I'm not gonna get high blood pressure for something that could've been prevented by the staff.

Doctor and staff were pleasant however after spending over…read morean hour on the phone having my medicare insurance approved before booking an appointment and then having the appropriate records sent. I was told after a 1/2 hr wait that medicare wouldn't cover the visit and it would cost $250 plus the actual cost of the cortisone shot which was apparently an unknown price. After another 20 something minute wait I was told the visit would be covered except for the copay. The most unprofessional medical visit of my life. Michael M PS No one informed me that after having a shot I could not have physical therapy for 72 hours I only discovered that after showing up at the therapists the following day and wasting a few more hours. The waiting room was pretty full, still no one acknowledged me or gave me any directions. After approximately 10 minutes I found out that I needed to put my name on a list which I did. I sat down to wait for my name to be called and as I waited as most people do I was on my c Cell phone. After several minutes I saw people that came after me getting signed in, checked the list and sad my name crossed off. When I asked why I was told that I looked as if I was busy so she skipped right over me. Didn't even want to come here because of previous terrible care like a doctor who when I cried following a diagnosis said, " it's not like I told you you have cancer" . Now just one more reason why I need to find a new orthopedic doctor. DONT USE ORTHOPEDIC ASSOCIATES OF DUTCHESS COUNTY!!!!!!!

I would not recommend this orthopedic doctor. BARRY S. HYMAN. I was a patient of Crystal Run and…read morethey no longer take Workmen's Comp. I was referred to see this doctor. From the moment I walked in the door he gave me nothing but grief! When I tried to give him a background history of my accident and all that I went through in the past years and what I was feeling. He explained to me that what I was feeling was incorrect, it had nothing to do with my knee! So he recommended me see a back surgeon ( one of this friends from his old practice that they used to own) because he believe that's where my problem was. I could not believe what I've been hearing from this man!! so I went back to my old doctor with a (new problem) saying that it DR BARRY S. HYMAN say it's my back. My old doctor was puzzled but said OK and recommended me going for an MRI, I did so! Just as I thought, my knee trouble was not caused by my back it was caused by my accident. So I don't understand how I can go to a man with my Workmen's Comp case (he takes Workmen's Comp) but wants nothing to do with the case. Someone explain this to me! By the end of my second visit with this man we were in agreement that I would not return to him and I would find a new doctor. I would not recommend this doctor to anybody! DR BARRY S. This is a continuous issue I've heard about from other patients I've spoken to. When I called the emergency line at 7am and spoke to one of the doctors, he instructed me to bring my mother into the office at 8:30 that morning to be seen due to her pain level and symptoms post-op. We arrived and they refused to check us in. They said she had to wait until the next week for her scheduled appointment and when I said the doctor specifically told me to arrive they stopped speaking to me. We were eventually seen, but upon check out the receptionist refused to accept a copy of my health care power of attorney for her file, wouldn't make eye contact with me or speak audibly, barely answered my questions and got visibly upset that she had to reschedule a follow up appointment for us. The following week when I needed a prescription refill I called 4 times over the course of 2 days and did not receive a call back. I happened to be in the plaza for a PT appointment next door so I went in to ask if I could get a refill for my mom. The 2 receptionists seated on the right side clearly were whispering and rolling their eyes at me. They wouldn't speak to me but we're definitely speaking about me. The woman that helped me on the left side (Flora) was polite and ultimately resolved the issue so I was able to pick up a refill. This office would be a good option if they had more pleasant front office staff. Once she heals, I will not be bringing my mother back to this location. Additionally, the sidewalk in front of the office entrance is basically loose rubble. Very dangerous for orthopedic patients to walk on.
