Between the confusing construction, driving between multiple lots, repeatedly having the wrong keys, and going on a wild goose chase for a car that wasn't even the exact one I came to see, the whole process took over 2.5 hours. On top of that, they kept asking us the same questions over and over instead of just giving us a number so we could leave. My girlfriend and I purchased a used Subaru Impreza from here a couple of weeks ago, and initially, we left a positive review. However, after recent events, we feel compelled to change it to a negative one. When we purchased the vehicle, we were excited to see that it came with all-weather mats in the trunk. This was a great added bonus, and we even discussed it with our salesman, Ron, during the point of sale. A week later, when we came to pick up the car, we noticed that the mats were missing. We immediately brought this to the attention of the salesman, who assured us that it was simply an oversight during the detailing process and they forgot to put them back after they were done, and that we could pick them up in a few days. However, when we followed up the next week, we were told the dealership could not locate the mats and offered us a set of Toyota Corolla mats instead. They weren't sure if they'd fit, but wanted us to drive an hour just to check, and said if they did not fit they just had no other solution. When we questioned this solution, we were told there was no other option, and that management could not help further. The salesman insisted that since we didn't have a photo of the mats, we couldn't prove they were the correct ones for the vehicle. Despite the fact that the salesman had acknowledged the mistake and assured us they'd make it right, we were left with no resolution. It's incredibly frustrating that we purchased a car and something was missing that we had already paid for and discussed at length. The dealership's response to this issue was unacceptably low-effort, and their lack of willingness to make it right is disappointing. We are unhappy customers, and unfortunately, we cannot recommend this dealership. If they're unwilling to resolve a relatively small issue like $100 all-weather mats, we worry about how they handle larger customer concerns. read more

First, they couldn't do the checks for the state sticker so I had to get that done at a non-Hyundai dealer. Then yesterday, I had a scheduled appointment for my annual EV checkup. I spent 2 hours in the waiting area, when they sent me a text message about what service needed be done. When I talked to rep, they convinced me to buy a new cabin air filter ($$$), but didn't mention that I could do a tire rotation (which was buried in another location in the web notification). I scheduled an appointment for my Santa Fe to fix the temperature sensor and a USB charging port. My appointment was for a Tuesday at 8:15AM. After repeated calls, they did not diagnose my vehicle until the following day. My vehicle was sitting there for a full day and a half without any service after I had made an appointment. Once the diagnoses was made, I was told the parts would be overnighted and my vehicle would be ready the next day. The parts were delayed and now my vehicle will not be ready until Friday afternoon. In total, I will be without a car for FOUR days for a job that will take less than a day to complete. I understand that the parts being delayed are not the dealership's fault, but the communication is terrible. I was first told that if parts had to be ordered, I could pick up my car and drop it off again when the parts came in. I was also repeatedly told that I would receive updates on my vehicle, and those calls never came. I continuously had to call to get updates and when I had to leave a message, I would never get a call back. It is a major inconvenience to be without a vehicle for an extended time. This service center clearly did not honor my appointment, and has done a terrible job communicating throughout the process. I will never be coming here to service my vehicle again. read more

Our car had a tire imbalance. We paid $100 to get all wheels rebalanced. The car still had a balance issue. When we called them, they said the acoustic foam in a tire may have detached. The car is 3 years old, but the a manufacturing defect in a tire isn't covered by the Hyundai warranty: we'd need to request a pro-rated refund from Michelin if we bought new tires. We didn't want to pay another $200 for more diagnostics, so we went to my local mechanic. They took all four tires off their rims. For one tire, the foam had completely detached. The foam in the other tires was still securely attached. However, my local mechanic went on to say that two tires with secure foam were still out of balance, so McGovern pretty much wasted the $100 I spent for rebalancing all four tires. read more

There were delays to paperwork (they blamed me for not handing over information they hadn't asked for??); inspection was not completed (and they, again, blamed me for their delays); paperwork and guarantees were not clearly explained; and the tire lock was not given to me. 3 stars because despite some failures and how some subsequently adopted very defensive postures, other staff were extremely helpful to address the problems and concerns. A bizarre experience. A hapless salesperson and management with nonstop misinformation and hours of my time. I called ahead with the used car type I was looking for. Then onsite they couldn't find the car. They're building a new building, so most cars are in offsite lots miles away from dealership. Understandable, but why not tell me what's going on? We finally get to the car and it was locked in with other cars so no test drive. I got in and cigarette stench from last owner was so bad I immediately got back out. A similar car was next to it but salesperson couldn't tell me the price because they didn't have their computer with them (you had two hours to gather this information!). This place is absolutely pathetic for a variety of reasons. Service department is a joke, wanted to charge $330 dollars for a new battery. Furthermore, upon popping the hood the tech never put the plastic coverings back that cover the battery connections so they were just flying around in the engine bay until I got home. I just don't understand why there is such a lack of effort and attention to detail. It's almost like they expect the person to be clueless and never open their hood of their car to peek at. Only reason I went here was due to having free oil changes for the car I purchased. One other note, the temporary shop they are using due to their main site being under construction cannot provide any inspection stickers. Absolute rookie hour. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. What happened TODAY with this dealership is absolutely unacceptable. I went to McGovern Hyundai RT 93 because I had always trusted the McGovern Group. I had never had a problem with them before. I simply wanted to buy a vehicle as a gift for my daughter, fully confident that they would be responsible and professional. In fact, this same week I purchased a 2025 Toyota Tundra from McGovern Ford, and the very next day they completed the full delivery with no issues at all. That's why I returned to McGovern: because I trusted them. But what happened TODAY at this RT 93 location was the complete opposite. I bought the Chevy Trax on November 3, 2025, and since that date I received nothing but excuses every time I asked when they would deliver the car. I visited the dealership several times, wasted my time, and every week they gave me a different excuse -- to the point that I started thinking the vehicle had mechanical problems, especially because it was supposed to be a car for my daughter. Today I went in person and clearly told them that I NO longer wanted the vehicle, and that I only wanted my money back. I said this directly to Richard Belino (General Manager). Everyone in that dealership fully knew that I no longer wanted the car. While I was waiting for an answer TODAY, Paul Panzini (Sales Manager) came up to me and said: "Congratulations on your car." I replied: "I don't want this car." And he answered: "I don't care." That level of disrespect toward a customer is unacceptable. Despite me stating clearly that I did NOT want the vehicle, TODAY they registered the car in my name against my will, trying to force me into accepting something I rejected. The salesperson MD Sultan Sifat called me TODAY, and once again I told him I did NOT want the car. After calling me, he then called my daughter, telling her he was "on the way to my house to drop off the car." Involving my daughter in this situation is completely inappropriate. Later, between 5 and 6 p.m., the same salesperson, MD Sultan Sifat, left the vehicle without authorization on my property. My neighbor witnessed the moment, and I have Ring camera video clearly showing the salesperson dropping the keys in my mailbox and abandoning the car. On top of that, the vehicle is blocking my parking space, and I have nowhere to park my cars because of this irresponsible and illegal action. I did not sign anything. I did not authorize anything. I did not accept anything. And yet TODAY they decided to abandon a vehicle at my home without permission, trying to force me to accept it. I also sent multiple emails TODAY to the Manager, and no one responded. I have purchased four vehicles from the McGovern Group -- a Ford Explorer, two Transit 250 vans, and a Toyota Tundra -- and I have NEVER experienced anything like this. This dealership tried to force me to accept a car I rejected, involved my daughter, ignored my emails, avoided my questions for days, left a car on my property without authorization, wasted my time, and demonstrated a level of professional and human disrespect that I have never experienced before. I was told by the sales person, Steve, that the Ioniqu 5 came with two adapters. The car only had one. I was told that the second one would be ordered. When I didn't receive it, I spoke with the manager who said he would take care of it. He never got back to me. When I called back for an update, I was told that he had been replaced. This review is for the Service Dept. A woman named Sarah checked me in for an oil & filter change and tire rotation. After Service did that, they did a thorough check of my SUV. I had noticed my tires were showing a lot of wear, so I expected I would need to replace them down the road, but when Sarah showed me a photo of the tires, I realized they were needing replacement now. I was also told I needed a drive belt and rear brakes. My SUV has about 50,000 miles on it, so it's due for these repairs. Between Sarah and the crew who worked on my SUV, I am very pleased. My SUV drives quieter and at a better RPM now. Before repairs, it was inching up past 2,000 RPM. Now, it's between 1,200 and 1,500 RPM. I have never had a problem with the Service Department and will continue to go there (from Ipswich!). read more

Finally a good experience purchasing a car at a dealership. My daughters's car had recently died and she was in need of something affordable and dependable. We originally went to McGovern to see about a used Toyota we had seen online unfortunately that had been sold earlier that day. The salesmen Jakob and Alex were extremely helpful and found a used 2014 Honda Accord, a little more expensive than we were looking to spend but a very nice car. After taking a test drive they worked with us to find a price and terms that were quite reasonable, without the high pressure ,fine print and deceptive practices other dealerships typically use. They also gave us a generous price for her old car as a trade in to help reduce the overall price. We actually were very surprised how well it went purchasing at McGovern so much so we will likely be going there again when it's time to replace vehicles we currently have. read more

Bought 2023 Santa Fe in Feb 23. Shortly thereafter I got a recall that my car had a serious fire risk and I needed to park my car outside until McGovern called with a fix. After not hearing from McGovern FOR OVER A YEAR I found out from another dealer that McGovern erroneously classified my recall as repaired. When I recently contacted McGovern about it the service manager would not talk to me. Finally I contacted Hyundai national customer service in California. They instructed McGovern to make the repair, this after almost two years of unnecessarily having to park my car outside away from my house. Sold me a vehicle they said was a Demo, turns out it was a preowned so they refuse to honor the 3 year 36000 mile service promise. When I purchased the vehicle they snuck in a $3000 supplemental warranty that I didn't want then I had to jump through hoops to get it refunded and removed. Purchased a 2020 Tuscon Thursday 1/26. At time of purchase we were told it would be ready Tuesday 1/31. Check for full payment dropped off Friday morning. Car not ready on Tuesday. Car not ready Wednesday. Salesman giving excuses about the guy who had to fix tiny burn mark wasn't available. I can see on RMV that car wasn't registered yet. Email to upper management went unanswered as did phone calls. Thursday pm, no car. Salesman said it would be ready by 11 AM Friday. It was not ready. They gave me a loaner and agreed to deliver car to my house Tuesday. First thing they got right. Car shows up and is not detailed. I've bought cars at mom & pop lots that have been cleaner. The small burn mark on seat that was to be fixed looks like someone rubbed caulking in it. Received call from sales manager today after sending email about dissatisfaction and they maintain car was cleaned. They took no ownership. Pathetic excuse for a dealership. McGovern is a stereotypical dealership. I called ahead to make sure they had the model I was interested in. The guy put me on faux hold to allegedly ask his manager if they had that model. He gets back on the phone within 1/2 a second and says they absolutely do. I drove over to test drive the car. After i arrive, the guy comes out to greet me. I'm talking to the guy face-to-face and he tells me again that they have the car and he's going to get it. Instead he brings out another salesperson. That guy tells me he's also going to get the car. After several minutes the guy comes back out and asks which model I'm interested in. hahaha. I guess that was warning sign #4. I should have left. Several more minutes go by and the guy comes back out and says they don't have any. i could totally understand if i had called about the car a week ago but i had called about it 1 hour prior to my arrival at McGovern's. Bought a brand new Tucson from them in June, has 600 miles on it and has sprung an Antifreeze leak, I called to get it serviced before the engine blows and they told me they can't get me in till the end of October, the cars is brand new and can't be driven and they are making me wait without a car. Once again the used vehicle I bought here is having problems. I was told that the service manager won't deal with me. So the sales manager took over and shipped my vehicle to another McGovern dealership. They had it for a week and diagnosed a noise to a failed leaf spring but will only replace one. This was supposed to be a certified vehicle but was delivered to me in deplorable condition. I bought an extra warranty for this vehicle. This was my first new car in years. I came in and dealt with Morgan. There was no pressure and he actually was asking what I needed, to fit me into the perfect car. I chose to go with the 22 Limited Tucson but he never pressured me to make the choice. He was supportive and knowledgeable. I am as loyal as can be and he earned my business and anyone I know will be coming to see him! It was almost like talking to a friend and not a salesman. I now consider him a friend and will be returning for all my service and another car for my wife. Also the finance manager Jacob was great. Again, no pressure and very knowledgeable. Didn't try to dump a bunch of things on me but made suggestions on what might be a good idea. I couldn't be more happy with the car and the experience. read more
