I found McGlone Mortgage when my credit union offered to penalize us by charging a higher interest rate for paying our taxes and insurances directly (no escrow). After a little research I found McGlone Mortgage and was surprised by their very competitive interest rates and fees. Other banks and my credit union admitted they were unable to come close to the terms McGlone Mortgage was offering. I was a little concerned that it was too good to be true and a negative review, but I realized companies can never make everyone happy, so I took a chance and am happy to report that I recently closed a refinance with the best rates and terms that I was able to find. As with all loans these days, the documentation process is very arduous (DNA anyone?), but we were advised not to take it personally, and their online portal for uploading documents was very easy to use, secure, and made the process as straightforward as possible. Throughout the process McGlone honored their word. Due to the amount of documentation required in our case, we ran up against the 60 days deadline but McGlone did what was necessary to insure that we did not lose our excellent rate! What really makes for a great experience are the employees that you work with throughout the process, and I must say that across the board, all of the representatives were courteous, helpful, proactive in their communications, and made sure we stayed on track for our closing date. My wife and I are very happy with our experience with McGlone. We obtained a loan at a rate that was well below anything available elsewhere. Matt (our mortgage broker) is very knowledgeable about the business and is very responsive. He even called me telling me that he thought we needed to lock the loan at 6PM because he was seeing too much activity suggesting that rates were moving up. He was right and saved us an eighth of a point. When the underwriting on the loan was taking longer than expected and the sellers were starting to get nervous the president and owner of the company (Ken McGlone) called them in support of our loan and helped get a two day extension. My refi case was not so trivial, I had a lot of issues with my debts, but Jeff Groff and his assistant Leslie Henman made the process very smooth. I got the lowest rate for 15 years refi (2.75%). All closing costs were included into the loan (it was about $2000, which is very low, for my first mortgage the closing costs were more that 10K), and moreover I received money on closing (about $700). Now I'm waiting for a check from my escrow account (there should be about $2000) and from my previous lender (about $2000 more). So, at the end I got new loan with the lower rate for shorter term and about 5K cash back. I'm so happy I read all these reviews and decided to work with McGlone! The quality of service was very high. I'm completely satisfied how Jeff and Leslie were communicating with me, all my questions and concerns were answered with a detailed explanation, and I really appreciate it! I read several very positive reviews and decided to give them a try because the rates were so good. That turned out to be a very good decision. I've refinance several times with McGlone in the past, Brian has always been there for me, there can be some frustration at times when you refinance, but McGlone associates are very professional and care about their reputation. look around on the internet and BBB websites no one gets better ratings.
