He did the job and then he cashed my check remotely, three days later he took the check to a bank and cashed it again trying to scam me out of $150. Through my bank I got the scammed amount back. I would not recommend McGill Movers to anyone. I would suggest Douglas McGill be removed from your recommended list, and Yelp do a better job of screening. read more

Worst Company!! Promised to move me and then didn't show, didn't call. When I called no one answered. Then I text and received a return text telling me to text someone else. Called this person only for him to ask me if I had a truck!!! Never an apology for putting me out of my way and never did they ask if this was okay, they had no idea if I had time to move or not!! Worst company to deal with. this is a NO star rating. read more

Where do I start? I had several quotes from some contractors but they cause not do everythingI need to get done. So I went with this guy he said he can handle job not sure how he's handling his moving company, but his contracting company is TRASH. They half-painted my walls. Did not put up the lattice around my deck correctly ( I took them down) he never got around to removing the rocks and stuff up around the house & did not paint the deck. Started work on a Sunday 8/312025 Monday was a holiday (Labor Day) Tuesday texted me about a registration for child, arrived around 11am worked 6pm, Wednesday showed up around 12noon I left for an appointment at 3:00pm got back home around 3:34pm this guy was gone. He texted me that he would have some more help tomorrow. Thursday he was supposed to arrive between 9:30am-10:00 I left my home at 11:30 got back around and 2:30pm the work site was empty not sure if he showed up. So I canceled the contract arrangement and asked him to come clean and pick up his tools NO RESPONSE. I hired another contractor a friend Suggested the is killing it working 12 hrs fitting the mess this guy do. Check out the picture. I gave him a good Faithe deposit which I consider it a seed sown into his business. The Value of his work is POOR.. He is not reliable at all. ****Update 9/11***** as I stated earlier, this dude not responsible. after I cancel the contract, I texted him for three days to come clean up his mess and come get his tools NO RESPONSE, till Monday morning 7:30 August 8 he text me when can I get my tools I told him 830 that wasn't good for him. He had some family things he had to do. Monday night I sent him a letter of retrieval of personal property meet me at the police Department at 11 o'clock come get your tools no show/ no call like I said not responsible (attached the SC contractors laws and regulations procedure for property left on the work site) he text me 3 o'clock that afternoon can I come get my tools? I texted back Negative. his response was this is an inconvenience . Later that evening I texted him Title: Last chance, I sent him a public Place to meet and I let him pick the time he chose 11am and I about 40 minutes before time to meet, I got a text from him wanting to move the time to noon, I stated I have other appointment scheduled so I will leave your tools next to the ice machine and send you a picture (You better get there quick) dude text me do I need to get the police involved? I told him I'm a do you one better I'll meet you at the sheriffs department, his response was can you leave my tools with them I'll pick them up like everybody is at his Becking call. I already knew that the sheriff department do not hold Personnal property. So I went to the sheriff's office and I explain to the situation with this dude I showed them all text, showed them the letter that I sent him and all the attempts that I tried for seven days to get him his tools all of which failed on his part. I asked can I leave his tools here at the sheriff department, and the response was NO. The deputy stated that if he wants his tools now since there were so many failed attempts for him to come pick up his tools. Now he have to file a claim of delivery to pick up his tools his ( two shovels, one rake one, tape measure, and One heat gun) with a deputy $75 worth of tools is now going to cost him probably over $200 because he's not responsible. I refuse to waste any more of my Precious time, to meet with him to get his tools without a deputy sheriff. read more

I needed a window sealed that was on the 2nd floor. He responded promptly to my inquiry for help, and I was able to schedule the work within a few days. He showed up on time with materials to do the work. He completed the work and charged me less than he had quoted which was very reasonable to begin with. read more
