They actually have real people talk with you about what you need and do great work. They price by the job and will do smaller jobs big contractors do no want to do. Operated as AndyOnCall for 22 years. Are now Housedoctors. A+ BBB rating. read more

Don't waste time with these guys. Their ad (see below) clearly states that they "Install/Repair Wood Fencing." I guess the lady that answers the phone (803)951-1877 doesn't read their own ads. She told me they DO NOT install fences because they are a one man show. But when I mentioned what their ad says. she got rude and said "I'm not going to argue with you." Heck, I don't want to argue either so I just hung up on her. Here is a drop the mic moment, .... the thing (The Ad) speaks for itself. Andy may have all the skills in the world, but if they can't answer the phone without attitude and READ....how can you get money through the door? RIF....Reading Is Fundamental. How true is that! read more

AndyOnCall is now House Doctors - Handyman Near Me - Lexington, South Carolina

House Doctors business practices ethics undermines their work. On 9 June 2025, I received an estimate for $4K to redo 16 windows ($200 per window) and $800 for other minor issue. I thought it was a high quote but agreed to pay to get the work done. The two repairman over sold the job in terms of labor and hours to complete it. Upon completion, the final bill was $412.12 more added for material cost. After questioning it, it was explained as deceptive but the owner refuses to state this upfront even through his employees dislike having to up charge customers with this after the work is done. I would not recommend doing any business with House Doctors until they change the business practice. MMO read more

This company came out to fix a leak in my plumbing about 8 years ago. I didn't think anything about the work until now when I find out they cut through a support joist in my flooring, setting me up for major and costly repairs! I trusted them and they set me up for failure. I'm so mad. This company sends out barely competent people who will do a slash job just to get paid. read more

I have done multiple projects using this company, with satisfaction from technicians. The biggest problem is getting past the receptionist, seems that if she doesn't like your voice or request it will not not be a priority. I stopped using due to the rudeness and unprofessionalism of receptionist when requesting services, as well as the extreme increase in the prices being charged(doubled or tripled prices on most services). read more

Thieves. They tried to charge me 145 for two screws and some wood glue to repair a cabinet. No replacement parts and the screws are already there. Other handy man services quoted 50$ for the same job. Avoid this business they seek to take advantage of you. I'm glad I know and have visually inspected the damage otherwise I would have been gouged. Being that he was on site and I wanted to get this sorted out I even offered him 100$ to do the job but he declined stating that 125 is the lowest he'd go. I called the manager to voice my concern and he simply told me about how great his handy man was and blah blah blah. Well you lost my business. Horrible customer service. Update* a different handy man from a different company (not run and staffed by con artists) just came by and did it for 50. He said he felt bad about charging that much but that's the minimum charge. I'd much rather give fifty dollars to an honest hard working man that these crooks. You should be ashamed of yourselves. What if someone tried to take advantage of your family like you did me? read more

This is the second experience I have had with Andy. Both were done properly by qualified people. I thought the first time was a bit expensive, but you have to have a kitchen sink faucet and no leaks underneath, so I paid. This time I had a broken fitting on a washing machine hose, and a shutoff which wouldn't completely shut off. You just got to have water, and no leaks again, so I paid $235 to have the rest of the fitting cut off and the shutoff adjusted because I couldn't do it myself. This quote was from the office, not Kevin the technician, who was capable and friendly. Going to have second thoughts about calling them again due to the cost, and will have to try harder to do it myself. read more

I have used Andy OnCall in the past without problems, but something has happened to this business. My husband and I called and made an appt for someone to come out and give us an estimate for replacing some rotten wood on the eaves of our house. We also asked for an estimate for painting the house. The worker said he couldn't give my husband an estimate then and would have to call him back later that day with the estimates. Well, I've had Andy OnCall do numerous small jobs around our house over the years and NEVER once did the worker leave my house without giving me a written estimate, so I thought that was odd. Andy OnCall did NOT call my husband back with an estimate that day as promised. Two days passed with no word from them, so I called the Andy OnCall office. I got the voicemail, so I left a detailed message and asked them to please call me back with the estimates. THAT WAS TWO WEEKS AGO AND WE HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD FROM ANDY ONCALL!!! I'm left assuming that their business is so great that they don't have to worry about customer service anymore. They obviously have no interest in earning MY money! Five years ago, I would have recommended Andy OnCall to anyone and everyone, but after our latest experiences with them, I have to say STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! read more

So I guess when they sent their 'best tile guy' out to do a job and two weeks later, the guy says he 'doesn't do tile' -- it was a blessing. They don't have a licensed electrician to send out despite their claims. Unfortunately, I learned too late that in SC, only one person among an organization needs to be a licensed electrician for any vendor to legally state they use licensed electricians - the reps they actually send will likely not be the 'one' who is licensed tho -- so ask the individual that arrives 'are you a licensed electrician' before allowing him/her to begin working. In my case, every junction box they installed in my ceiling among some canned lights installed during a remodel was connected 'outside' the junction box rather than inside. later, when there were issues with electrical failures, the whole issue unfolded and amounted to thousands to repair in removed ceiling, repair, reinstall, paint, etc. Unbelievable. read more

Great service and quick too! They honor double coupons for senior citizens and the military too. Highly recommend -- took a roofing job we tried to get an estimate for from 4 other roofers, who all walked away due to the height of our roof. Saved us a lot of money and aggravation. read more

Called Andy on Call over a month ago, they said when they got someone free they would send them out. After several calls they still have never sent anyone out. I guess my job was to small for them or they don't like making money for some easy work. I called another home service, they connected me with a contractor who was at my home on a Sat. in less then 12 hours after placing my requested and completed the job that day. Do not waste your time calling Andy on Call if you want to get the job done. read more
