It being summertime and temperatures rising, it was getting brutal making longer trips comfortably. I had already called up other shops prior to coming here, but they all wanted to charge me $100+ just to *diagnose* the problem. That didn't feel right. When I called 3R Division, I was able to speak to Victor. He was very friendly and was able to confirm that they'd be able to diagnose the issue without charging me. When I arrived at the shop, all promises were kept. They were able to diagnose for free. It turns out my AC system was fine and it was a small motor that had died. Without the motor working, the vent to allow cold air wasn't opening. The pricing was very fair and Victor was super helpful in person just as he was over the phone. This was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a repair shop. I brought my car in on 4/20 for a transmission repair after being told the job would take about one week. At the time, there were no warning lights on the dashboard and no known issues other than the transmission. I also paid more than half of the quoted cost upfront. After a week passed, I had to reach out myself for an update. It took about a week and a half to get a response, and I was told the repair would be delayed due to an illness. I completely understood and was willing to be patient because things happen. On 5/1, I contacted them again to see if my car was ready for pickup and received no response until 5/8. By this point, I had already been given four different completion dates, all of which came and went. I simply asked for an accurate timeline because I was becoming frustrated with the lack of communication. Instead of receiving an update, I got an email from the owner's wife that I found extremely rude and unprofessional. I was told they could no longer do the repair and was accused of rushing them, which was completely untrue considering how long I had already waited beyond the original timeline. As a result, I had to pay to have my vehicle towed to their shop and then pay again to have it towed elsewhere so another shop could complete the repair. Throughout this experience, I was hung up on, repeatedly misled about completion dates, and left without clear communication. To make matters worse, when I finally got my car back on 5/15, multiple warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard that had not been there before. When I called to ask about it, I was told they hadn't touched anything that could have caused it. However, I had photos taken before the vehicle was towed to their shop showing that there were no dashboard warning lights at that time. I went on line and searched and found Big N Bad Performance. I had no Idea who this guy was, so I did my and saw that the reviews were good to great with one exception, there will always be someone out there not happy. Anyway I digress. I talked with Mike and we agreed that the truck needed to be retuned after I had done some up grades that the other shop did not pick up. After his research and the retune, we found out that all along it was the o2 sensors and a week battery. It took some time but money well spent. My truck hasn't run better in a long time. So word to the wise if your putting new exhaust manifolds and turbos on your truck take it to Mike for the job or the retune after you install them. He will take care of you with a smile. He quoted 3 week turnaround and we gave him a max on our budget which he quoted several $$$$ less, but that gave us room for things to pop up. 15months later, poor communication after 9months in, we took our car back knowing that he didn't finish it and we are getting everything buttoned up somewhere else. He said that he would send us the dyno tune info and 2 months later still waiting and he will not respond to VM or email. There was clear overspray all over the car and windows, there is chipped pain on the corner of the hood and front finder, my brand new powder coated Foose rims are scratched my doors are super hard to open now, my digital dash does work, my brake lights don't work, the new gas tank leaks gas, and my horn doesn't work. I can not wait to see what my new mechanic has to say about it. Do not be fooled by the charm. This not the shop for you.

Short version: Over…read morea seven year period, Martin missed one issue, the motor and transmission mounts.That was the only thing he missed in 7 years. He caught the rest, and he didn't break my car. He likes to repair cars. I can't say the rest for the Portland area. I hope the next one can finally finish the oil pan. Still have my Honda though. 125 K and not going anywhere. I've meant to leave this review since I met Martin when he opened his shop outside of his home. He is now on Johnson Creek Blvd. I liked him, because he was polite, to the point, and didn't waste my money. Other mechanics shamed me for use of aftermarket, and he told me that was bs and to save for real repair, of which there are plenty. He was correct. Over the years, I had many things done on my Honda. Beats buying a new car. I love my 1999 Honda Accord DX. He always fixed my car, and he never caused damage. I can't say that for other mechanics in Portland. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused issues for me and for Martin. In October of 2020, I heard this odd noise in the car. He looked it over and did an oil change. Nothing was wrong. He looked again upon request and the lower ball joints were done along with the drive belts. Maintenance stuff. The noise persisted, and he really doesn't like replacing parts, and he's right about not replacing btw. After we talked, and I was sick and very panicked from the virus, he agreed that it could be the shocks/struts and would do that, and the timing belt, which was 11 years old. We sort of lost sight of that, but he did examine it regularly. I never had an issue. I left but didn't want to have the work done there, because I felt like he didn't think it was the issue. I regret that moment of taking it to another place. They didn't hear it either and they damaged my car in a few ways when they did the timing belt, shocks, and struts. Martin ended up fixing their mess. The noise persisted, and he couldn't hear it. I took it to another place, and they found the issue. It was the engine mounts and the transition mount. They installed high-quality, aftermarket, but also, damaged the car. It vibrated like mad, leaked coolant, and accelerator pedal was stuck. I went back to Martin, and he said there was no noise. He had the car a few times for days to try to hear it. He never did. The last time, I came in and he said he would do an inspection. I hadn't realized that meant full paid inspection. Had I known, I wouldn't have done it that day. He found a leak but didn't hear or feel the vibration, which was obvious to me. It was $50 to fix the leak. I said "no." I had been allowed to decide on repairs. I was at a point where I had spent over $3K and it was still shaking. My 22-year-old was not comfortable in the car she had loved. Then, Martin told me I'd have to pay him about $150 (not sure) for the check. I told him that I wasn't going to pay him, and he told me that was fine, that I could pick up the car, and not return. I actually am not judging. I wish I had allowed him to fix the leak and just waited. He would have heard the noise eventually. I think we both had issues at this time. A perfect storm situaion. Perhaps, Hondas of this age sound noisy a lot. I couldn't drive it due to my inner ear issues though. I took it to another place and it has been fixed. OEM Honda mounts and that was the issue from the beginning. I won't add to the story. There is more. I will say that I wish I could go back and just wait until the noise became a little louder. I heard sliding of the engine and the thunk on start up, but I just needed to wait or record it. Hard to do. Martin is a very good mechanic, who doesn't waste your money. I don't know why he missed it this once, but I have known him since about 2013, and he's the only one I can recommend in Portland. That's true even if I am not able to be a client any longer. I don't blame myself, but I wish we could have worked it out. I would have loved to have him fix the car. He has a lot of talent. Just try to communicate clearly and keep track of your maintenance schedule (there are a lot of car types). If he says no, make sure to explain before you go elsewhere and be patient if you aren't scared. I was afraid in my car. The pandemic made it worse. A As far as his work, it is typically 5-star. I wanted to explain why I rated the way I did even when I had issues the last time.

They could have easily disregarded my message but they took the time to call me back and make a recommendation to another shop "straight line auto body" they gave me the owners name phone number and address. I called the Clackamas location, and they were able to get me scheduled quickly. I brought the coach in at 7:00 AM and spoke with the shop manager to review the issue. A short time later, I returned and met with the technician, who had already started evaluating the problem. He was extremely knowledgeable about RVs, clearly explained his plan of attack, and it aligned exactly with what I believed needed to be done. He estimated the repair would be completed by lunchtime. When I checked back at lunch, the work was finished and done to my complete satisfaction. I also noticed the care they took to protect the interior--floor mats were in place and the seat was covered with plastic to keep everything clean. Like clockwork there was somebody there at 8 AM got my Chevy C5500 Shuttle bus running within 20 min of diagnostic test.
