Dr Macfarlands orthodontist practice provides good quality braces, however, and several howevers to follow....
They have 2 offices. One in The Colony and one in Flower Mound (45 min apart) They do not stick to their scheduled days for each location. They have repeatedly changed the office they will be in one day but not call the patients with appointments. Twice I have taken my son out of school for a prescheduled quick adjustment appt only to arrive and find they were closed. I called and found out they decided not to go The Colony office that particular day. Oh, they were very apologetic but I could not then drive 45 min away and keep my son out of school. I picked this orthodontist due to location. Turns out they are only in my local area 2-3 days per months (it depends how often they deviate from the scheduled dates to be in The Colony office). My son received a permanent implanted metal retainer for his bottom teeth. If I had known a permanent metal piece would be required to keep his teeth straight after braces I would never had chosen this Ortho. And dear God don't be one day late on your monthly payment or the office manager puts your child's care on hold until you are caught up! I couldn't believe my child's orthodontic care was denied until
I could pay the $65 that was past due. Are you serious? The money they got from me exceeded $3000. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, and check the after care. Research what metal can do to your body and then decide if a permanent implant in your bottom teeth is worth it. We had it removed by our new orthodontist and now he wears custom plastic teeth covers at night. His teeth have not shifted, no metal in his mouth and now we know, when we go for follow up visits, the dr office will actually be open and expect us! There are to many choices in North Dallas for orthodontic care to have to deal with their issues. I would pass on Dr Macfarland for braces or any corrective treatment. read more
