My home was flooded by Hurricane Ian, and my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops were destroyed, like tens of thousands of other homes in SW Florida. My contractor, neighbors and I in Naples called dozens of companies from Naples to Fort Myers, and found that there was a several months wait for a cabinetry, and also for countertop people to just come out and give an estimate (especially for a small job like mine)-they just had too many jobs lined up at so many flooded homes to do!
One trusted person suggested calling M.C. E. Luxurious, as they did fine countertop work for him.
Milton of M.C.E answered the phone, and said he could come out and give an estimate in just a couple weeks, instead of several months. Nice.
We discussed different granite styles, and he sent me photos of samples in the color range I wanted. He came to my house on the promised day, gave an estimate of cost that was in my price range (and in the middle of phone estimates for similar granite per square foot,) and measured my newly installed custom cabinet tops with a laser, to be far more precise than just measuring with a tape measure.
My set up was not "out of the box" as I had curves in the layout-it was a custom kitchen design as the previous home owner was also a general contractor!
Milton suggested extending my granite overhang further on one side to allow for placement of bar stools and enough room on the countertop to eat or have drinks without bumping our knees.
He suggested other improvements, such as adding 4" rounding to corners of the countertop, instead of the sharp 2" rounding that other countertops in the neighborhood had.
Hmmm, he is an artist and designer, as well.
Milton promised to "Under promise, and over deliver" on quality.
"We'll see," I thought, as other trades like dry wall, electricians and plumbers didn't keep promises, took forever to finish jobs, and left messes behind for the next subcontractor.
Milton arrived with his assistants on time as scheduled, unloaded the six different large pieces of beautiful marble for the kitchen and bathrooms, took about 5 hours to install the countertops, asked me where I wanted the faucet holes drilled for the sinks that he also installed (including putting in my custom sink that I bought from Amazon) and his crew vacuumed, cleaned up, and even removed all boxes from my sink and other things, leaving the area cleaner than before.
The tolerances between countertops and the cabinets and the walls were less than 1/32", far more precise than my original nice countertops, and too tight for a razor blade to fit in!
In a world of subcontractors who just "do a job," Milton and his crew went above and beyond in their quality, communication, and follow through.
M.C.E. definitely "under promised, and over delivered."
I highly recommend M.C.E. Luxurious for fine craftsmanship. They are perfectionists who went above and beyond expectations for this picky perfectionist. read more
