I must say I have been to many McDonald's through all my life. Hate to say the worst one I have been to is my local one in Zion Illinois. I have been let down with the service there many times and I keep going back because by being local they will get better because I support local businesses. Needless to say I have been disappointed 75% of the time. Very Saddd! My latest experience was I have gone there religiously to get coffee. That has been ok but ordering food is the issue. There has been a promotion a breakfast #2 for $5. I have been getting every morning since the beginning of this special. Only thing different is I ask for strawberry jelly. As simple as this sounds they don't get it correct. Usually I get to work and there is none. So I decided to go in and ask and remind them multiple times. Does this work ? Nope some there's a loss of communication between the cashiers and the order fixer 8 feet away. So im thinking if I order through the manager problem solved. Tell him felt no need to look in the bag cause he is the manager. Low and behold no jelly. Go back call the manager out he laid jelly on the counter and walked away. Next day same process asked for the manager ordered and emphasized on jelly and explained me previous encounters. Get my food figured I will out smart them so I looked in the bag and seen some packets. I smiled walked out with my head high feeling a sense of accomplishment YEAH! Get to work to enjoy my breakfast sandwich reach for jelly that I have been fighting tireless and relentless for pull it out the bag FU***NG picante sauce my jaw dropped. But still had hope because I seen another packet in the bag. Crossed mt fingers and hope they gave me both. Held my breath flipped it over and WOW they gave me two of the same damn sauce. GRRRR.... I feel defeated. Just wanted strawberry jelly with my sandwich Well tomorrow is another day. Bonus Gripe: For the last 3 weeks there has been an open can of Red Bull sitting next to the register. Not sure how long it has been there before I noticed. I thought it belong to the cashier helping me that dayvI noticed. Came back the next day still there same guy. Figured he drinks them everyday. Decided to try the seasonal McRib! Didn't realize it came with no bones. I never had it in my lifetime, now I can take it off my bucket list! Ordered the meal package our order taker went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our time at this location ( need more service folk like this). For fast food it was satisfying. Very rude employees. Telling people they no longer take orders at the register only the kiosk. While picking up GrubHub and doordash and Uber orders they are very rude. Went there to redeem a free happy meal with a meal coupon. Went inside and they refused my coupon saying it was drive through only they didn't validate it. That's okay. I pay. The McDonalds in Zion is very fresh and the workers are friendly! They get your orders correct and they always honor their specials ! I placed an order at the drive-up. I paid and was told to park in the drive-up reserved as two of the items weren't ready. A manager brought the bag out with the order CLEARLY taped to the bag. They stay screwing up orders!! Very slow and then when you try to let them know they screwed up the order they catch a whole attitude!!! Every time I come here they screw up my order. Definitely double check, triple check or go to the McDonald's down the road in Beach Park. Probably needs new management that actually cares about what gets put out. Sept 1 Husband brought home lunch from the Zion McDonalds and I must say it was the worst quarter pounder I have ever tasted. Bun was stale and the meat tasted as if it had sat for hours. To top it off he paid for two orders of fries and they werent in the bag when we opened it. read more

Let's their customers pull into the second drive thru lane eventhough they arent operating it. Worker literally walked right passed myself and another car to put cones at the end so no one else could enter but neglected to inform us that they weren't operating that lane and let us sit there waiting. I don't want to think about what is in their fries, but I'm sure, whatever it is, will be the one thing that has me coming back (and I know I'm not the only one to say this.) So Mc Donald's has been adding touch screen kiosks where you can place your order, and then get table service. I don't know how new this is, but it's a cool concept in my opinion. It let's you customize your order without feeling like you are confusing or bothering the cashier or holding up the line (as many people seemed put off by using the new system when I was there.) You pay at the kiosk, unless you are using cash, then take your receipt and a number and go to a table. Someone will being you cups, and bring you food when you are ready. This system worked really well at this system. This is very crucial when it comes to my review of this location, as I previously tried this system at another location, waited 20 minutes, then went to the counter asking for food and no one knew anything about my order. I had a hungry child crying, I was upset, and the only person who cared was a lady cleaning tables (bless that woman.) These guys nailed almost nailed it. I had two different employees check on us shortly after sitting down, and I only had to remind them that I needed cups after the food was brought to our table. I will not sit here and tell you that this location is perfect and doesn't make mistakes, BUT anytime I've needed something fixed (and it's always been something simple) it's always been addressed without having someone get sassy with me, which I appreciate immensely. If you need your fry fix, I would recommend this particular set of golden arches, for sure. read more

This is the WORST McDonalds. Do NOT go to the drive thru, they mess up the order every time. Out of our last four visits, all of them were missing a whole sandwich. The one time I went I. And brought all the bags with me, they tried to charge me $6 extra for a sandwich I had already paid for and they did NOT give me. Their error rate is so high and they don't care. What can you say about McDonald's we been going there for years the place is always clean. I don't eat burgers like I used to. But still do the fish sandwich and the salads. I do get to breakfast on occasion and their coffee is good.
