The infamous McDonald's sprite brought me back to life after a morning of running around. The app is a bit confusing at times but they offer a lot of deals: free fries or money off your orders, if you have the time to tinker with it, it may be a good investment to download it ! I just needed a light bite for the drive back from UDel to Bucks, and this McDonald's flashed on the Route 2 horizon. This was to be a drive through encounter, so I never saw the interior of the small footprint burger emporium. It has been a long while since my last McBurger, and I faltered at the order stand, not remembering what the latest deals were. I asked for a quarter pounder, and was immediately asked by the speaker voice if I wanted a second one for a dollar. Sure. Why not? Did I also want a value meal? I didn't want fries, but a bottle of water made sense. The voice was patient with me. I knew most customers were more familiar with Mickey's menu than me, although I was aware they were test marketing a new fried chicken sandwich at the behest of their franchisees, who were trying to compete with Popeyes and Chick-fil-A. The burger tasted fresh, with nice flavor addition from thin red onion ringlets and pickles. The beef was a little salty for me, but not overly so. The bun held together well. I was satisfied as I munched on the way north, and reminisced on my summer working at McDonald's in River Edge, NJ, the year I graduated from high school and prepared for college. Came here early morning after getting a flat tire and needing to kill some time as it got changed. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean this McDonald's was. I placed my order on the tablet up front and the food was brought to me by a very nice woman who ensured that we got exactly what we ordered. The food was fresh and made to order. Once again, pleasantly surprised. Tanya came and cleared our trays and could not have been nicer. I don't often hop on Yelp to rate restaurants, but this this was above and beyond. Just went through the drive thru on a Sunday night, The good news was that the drive thru moved quickly and they appeared to be well staffed. Prices have really increased. The fish sandwich (no combo) was $4.59. The spicy chicken deluxe combo with a large fries and a large coke was almost $10. My wife ordered an ice cream sundae and when we opened the bag there was no spoon. Also no straw was given for the drink. The fish was hard and had obviously been there for many hours. Staff is clearly not following directions on how long to keep stuff that doesn't sell. The coke was not coke. Just seltzer with a trace of coke and the large was filled up to about the medium size level. I went inside the restaurant and waited a couple of minutes to speak to the manager about the Coke even though no one was ahead of me. No apology. The Coke machine inside the restaurant available to customers was apparently also broken (no broken sign) as well as the dry thru coke dispenser. Manager said she was aware of the problems and they weren't supposed to sell Coke. Apparently the person who took my order as well as the person who made the Coke were both unaware or just didn't care? I got an Orange soda and that was ok. This used to be a good McDonalds and there used to be bargain prices. We could have gotten much better food at a half decent restaurant for what we spent here. read more

This McDonald's, at Midway Plaza, is only a few miles up the road from McDonald's in Prices Corner. Yet, all the breakfast items here are more expensive. Even the sweet tea is $1.19 instead of $1. I can see no reason why this is so. In fact, it is the most expensive McDonald's in all of New Castle County. Pricing aside, I thought service was okay. The cashier actually miskeyed the item I ordered but it was in my favor. The food was delivered reasonably quickly and the place seems overall well-maintained. Parking could be a bit of a problem. Once the row of parking spaces around the restaurant fills up, you'll have to park somewhere in the strip mall area. Unfortunately, I probably won't return due to pricing alone. Everything else is pretty much the same at all other McDonald's locations in the county, so if there's another one along the way, I'd favor that one instead. read more

I read a few reviews for this McDonald's recently and noticed a few people pointed out how some items are a little more expensive than at any other McDonald's. After my most recent experience to this McDonald's a few things became more evident- the employees at this location are phenomenal. While I have frequented this location for a few years now, each man and woman that has serviced me has always been extremely helpful and have exceptional manners. I hope the price increase came from this location wanting to pay their employees a little extra because they deserve it read more

Last 2 times I went there, my order was given to me wrong. I ordered buttermilk chicken strips, yet I got a grilled chicken sandwich. Today will be my last time driving thru at this McDonald's. My youngest wanted breakfast this morning. We have been to this location numerous times because it is so close to our home. I should have known this morning would be no different than any other time we have gone there. The only time you get an order correctly is if you go in and that is if you can deal with the long wait. Giving 1 star because recently went to this mcdonalds to get a simple order of one shamrock shake and one mcflurry and since i can't give zero. Went through the drive thru pretty quick and paid 5.08 (extra m&ms is 50 cents more) the real issue was when i went up to the window to get my order. I received my mcflurry and then the person working the window told me to park in the designated area for the drive-thru to wait for my shamrock shake. About 20 minutes past, I know this because I looked at my receipt for the time of purchase, and I started to get a little mad. I then left my car in the parking spot and went inside to see my progress on my shamrock shake. I noticed there was no line but there were about 4 other people waiting on food. I decided to wait since they were busy getting other orders done. As I waited I noticed that behind the counter was disgusting. There was ice cream on the ground along with a few other pieces of food. As I continued to observe the staff they all looked young and obviously had no such customer service skills. I waited inside for p another 5-10 minutes when the employee working the drive thru points to me and tells one of his coworkers that I was still waiting on my shamrock shake. None of the employees told me that the machine was broken but one of the employees told another coworker "just refund the dude", which they finally did. I am not upset about not receiving my shake nor do I care about being refunded my money. I am just upset that I wasted part of my day waiting for disappointment and that I had to see such bad customer service. read more
