Had the pleasure of dining here for the first time last week. There were seven of us so we called…read moreahead to see if they had room. They were busy and asked us to come in 20 minutes. We showed up 20 minutes later and our table was waiting for us. We were impressed that such a little country restaurant had lots of choices and served breakfast all day. We ordered our drinks and food. Our drinks came quickly but there was quite a wait on our food. However we expected that as the restaurant was packed. It was just a regular Wednesday morning and they were slammed, usually a sign of a good place. We didn't mind waiting as they had cute little handmade things to look at and an entire section of stuff for kids to do. They had books, coloring books, puzzle books, games, toys, etc all for kiddos to use while they waited. They even let our kids each take something home. When our food came out, it was hot and delicious and everyone's order was correct. The portions were huge and we ended up needing several to go boxes. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. As we were wrapping up, the owner profusely apologized for our wait. They were very busy and also training some new people. We told them not to worry as we were totally satisfied but when our bill came there was a sizeable discount for our wait. It was totally unexpected and incredibly generous. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town! Cute restaurant, friendly staff and excellent food!

An unexpected gem. Everything was high quality…read more - Very good traditional coleslaw, chopped cabbage and carrots, crispy, with a thin sauce with just the right tiny bite. - Superior fries, hot and slightly crispy. - Fried clams, wonderfully breaded and tasty. - House made potato chips were crunchy yet yielding, gently seasoned so as not to obscure the potato flavor. Our waitress was very nice and the dining room was casual and welcoming. This is a must go if you are in the area.

Disappointed in my last meal there. I have two kids attending CMU so we have come to this location…read morequite often over the past four years. Food is usually consistently good. This last time I received a sandwich with a large portion of the meat obviously thick layers of fat. Very disgusting and not what I expected to pay for. And there was NO mistaking it for cheese. I did not say anything as I'm not someone that would ever return food, maybe it's a generational thing. Regardless it was disgusting. So probably won't go back for a while.

A nice table near the baseball game caught our eye. We didn't eat only ordered drinks. They arrived promptly and cold. My Margarita was perfect and went down quick. I enjoyed that they had a AMI Jukebox so I played a few songs. While we drank and the hour got closer to 5pm the tavern started to fill up with locals getting out of work. Next thing I knew there were people everywhere. Hugging, laughing and chatting away. We didn't stayuch longer but I hear the burgers are amazing so we will definitely be back So I can get one of those.

Breakfast Experience…read more I want to start this review with noting that our waitress was great. She brought us our drinks promptly, made sure we had refills if we needed. And was very kind. However, our food, no matter how large the portion was, was not very good. The egg of the omelette was brown in spots and too crunchy for my tastes. The ham pieces were good, the sautéed onions were great. But where on earth is all the cheese?! No cheese on top, and all the cheese was towards the folded portion inside the omelette. Now, I know we asked for modifications from American cheese to cheddar, and we asked for hash browns to be added to our omelette, but the taste just wasn't it. Also, the salt and pepper shakers were icky to the touch. And then we got our bill, and we were astonished to see how much two omelettes, a coffee, and two waters with lemon were. I've had wayyyy better omelettes for a lot less (see my other reviews). Might be a fun place to hang out with friends and have a drink, but definitely not a good breakfast spot.
