Disgusting! I had…read morethe chicken penne romana bake. Basically it was chicken with pasta, tomato sauce and a bit of pepperoni. The chicken wasn't fresh, it was probably cooked earlier in the day and had a terrible taste. They did not use any spices, not even salt or pepper. The star is only for the waiter who was really friendly. Otherwise I do not recommend this restaurant, it is far to be an Italian restaurant. It is not because a restaurant cooks pastas and pizzas that it is an Italian restaurant.

No-one in the restaurant appeared to know! But there it was: a huge pie on a small plate, goading the diner with its vast oneness. Second, they post Italian-sounding words all over the place. Just so you know it's *Italian* food. But then the menu is full of hamburgers and chicken covered in BBQ sauce. Third, my son tipped salt all over the table and, when asked why he'd done such a bloody stupid thing, he said, "To be healthy." He'd clearly received the leaflet from the Sodium Council. Regardless, the food was very acceptable and the service, in particular, was fantastic. Our waitress was absolutely what every parent wants: patient with the kids, pleasant, helpful, and very fun indeed. It's not truly American Italian fare but, God love them, they're trying, and it made for an entertaining and enjoyable meal.

After about three minutes, she came to us rudely, taking the dishes away without an apology. Then her boss said loudly to us, "the onion rings you ordered should be 6, but what we just gave you are 20, so we will not give you anymore. And if you want to solve the issue, you can talk to me or my wife." He said loudly and ungentlemanly. BUT IN FACT WE JUST EAT LITTLE OF THEM. How ridiculous what he said!!! How should it be occurred on campus. You should be ashamed of what you said. You should get out of the campus! Firstly I thought it was the different culture, we can respect you, but in fact you did not respect us. So we do not need to show respect for you. I am writing the comments to let all of people know how rude you are.

I had the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding with custard. Entree was great, pudding was great, prolly will skip the custard next time though because, while it was delicious, they filled a cereal bowl full of it with the custard aaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllll the way down in the bottom like a sunken pirate ship. Staff are super friendly, they have a playground outside and a WHOLE PARKING LOT. Just glorious. Now, my one real critique is this, and it's for the owners so if you're not them you can skip the rest of this review: per your Tex Mex chicken with the Cajun seasoning; Cajun is NOT Tex Mex. Cajun is its own cuisine from Louisiana inspired by French cuisine and African American soul food. Tex Mex is Texas (think cowboy Chuck wagon type stuff) and Mexican, so not French or Soul Food inspired at all. Not even a little bit. Not even close. That's one heck of a fusion y'all lol

I came to have dinner here one night after speaking to a gentleman who works at BeerGonzo (in…read moreEarlsdon) informed me that they run Drapers as well as Inspire in the city centre of Coventry. BeerGonzo had an excellent selection so I decided to check out what was going on at Drapers. First Impression: Visited on a Thursday night. I have been here before when it was Browns, so same deal with the interior. Very interesting building with high ceilings and all kinds of cool angles. Large bar, with plenty of interesting glassware and bottled beers as well. Just the perfect lighting so it wasn't too bright or too dimly lit, great ambient setting. Service: Service was great, the gentleman behind suggested a couple of beers and also allowed me to try the two I was debating over. We also ordered food which came in a timely fashion to our table that we had upstairs. Everyone was friendly and there to help, just overall good old fashioned customer service. Atmosphere: There were quite a few people there, and a group was having a Christmas do which I thought was nice. Not loud but also not pin drop silence, you could hold a conversation comfortably without feeling like you had to quieten down your voice. Food: I ordered a vegetarian Portobello burger with chips. It was very well made and I was very impressed, fresh salad on there too and the bread was of a high quality, nothing like a normal boring burger bun you will find at the supermarket. Fluffy chips too! All of the normal condiments and vinegar are available. Drinks: I had Lawless Lager by Purity and I also had Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale by Boulevard Brewing. Both came in their own glassware which I thought was a really nice touch. The selection of beers are impressive, a lot of imported beers! I was especially impressed with the American selection of craft beers, even on tap! Definitely some great things that you can't find in to many establishments in the UK. Price: Quite reasonable, around £18 for my food as well as two beers, (craft beers may I add). Restrooms: Clean, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. Overall: I will definitely be coming back here again when I'm in Coventry. Good food and great drinks! I could spend all day in this place having beers! Tip: If you're not sure about the beers on tap, ask to try one!

It is a rare gem in Coventry, a city with an appalling bar, dining and nightlife scene! The interior has remained the same for years but it is a large and very stylish space with seating downstairs and upstairs and an outdoor balcony with seating. There are a lot of curves in the architecture and a lot of artwork from people within the city can be found hung around the venue. Situated next to the university and art gallery, it attracts some of Coventry's few creatives. I went in last week for a coffee and a spot to sit and read. I ordered a latte which was good and fairly priced. There is a vast selection of alcohol behind the bar, you'd be hard pushed to ask for something they didn't have. The service was fantastic as always, another drawing point for this bar. However, the menu has changed quite drastically recently and unfortunately, it is not for the better. Before, a vast array of fresh dishes was displayed on a chalkboard above the bar that often changed. There was always a large selection of cakes too. Now they have substituted that for a set menu available on a double sided A4 menu. The food sounds good and I haven't heard of any complaints, I just think it is a shame and has spoilt some of the charm that this bar had bucket loads of. I still think this is a wonderful place to spend an evening or an afternoon and I was intrigued by different events they hold here. On a Tuesday evening they play classic cult or arthouse films and offer popcorn and drinks and table service which sounds fantastic and I will definitely be returning for that!

The service is good although there weren't many staff on, the food is traditional pub food with a few American twists to keep it up to date. There were a number of things not available when I went however the university was closed so I would think that during term time it wouldn't be a problem. Service was good although again one of my colleagues said when it's busy you can wait for a while for a meal. Overall I would say it's ok and for a uni pub it's one of the best in the area, it most certainly isn't the type of place for a quiet drink though as it gets quite loud.

Note the funny rabbit ears around the word quick as they will come back later on. Its a lively place with people constantly in and out so we opted for the terrace which overlooks the campus and was gorgeous in the summer sun. Myself and Jen ordered first, simple fare with a risotto and a red thai curry of the mainstream variety. And now the rabbit ears come into play! We waited....and waited....and our friend ordered....and waited then they finished and we waited some more. the first staff member we asked was limited in her vocabulary to im sorry ummm im sorry?. After this we found out it hadnt been passed onto the kitchen. We spoke to another staff member 5 minutes later who had a full range of social vocabulary. She told us it wasnt put through at first, now it had and that there was a wait time. We also got offered a free drink for the trouble which was a saving touch. Finally the food arrived and it was tasty enough for pub grub if a little on the small side. Would go back to try it again and hope for better this time. It was busier than usual with the over 1000 people who came to the convention that weekend so i can easily give them a pass lol.
