My guess is, once upon a time, this Burger King was in the catbird seat with no or little competition. The outside is scruffy and I do mean scruffy. The BK sign is totally broken on the side opposite the highway. The parking lot is - well, rough is an understatement. This place has seen much better days. I don't know if all the building on the other side of the highway attributed to the decline but this BK has no curb appeal. Yet there were a couple cars in the lot and so we headed towards the drive thru. By now, you may be wondering why on earth you are seeing 5 stars after reading the above. Pulled up to the drive thru. Immediately - very pleasantly - told she would be with us as soon as possible. She came back in a minute or two - wasn't long at all. We placed a large order. She didn't falter, didn't lag. Read the order back exactly as was stated. Around we went to pay. We then met a SUPER pleasant woman at the window. Was very careful in handing back the drink carriers, and then the bags of food. Food was hot and fresh. Fries were good. Onion rings were good. Both were fresh. But what carried this place to a full 5 stars was that employee. She treated us like a million bucks - you would not have gotten better service at a Chicago fine dining establishment. This kind of employee - is solid gold. Order, despite the size - was spot on perfect. It was ready in a very speedy manner. Service was impeccable. I can't fault business owners for the state of the outside of a building. Who knows? Franchisee perhaps and we've been through a pandemic. They were probably closed for some time. I've seen rougher places. I can give them plenty of credit for their hiring choice. My order was $10.23, and I was paying with a $20 bill. When I suggested they Accept $10 even, I was told no, and told I could go get change at the gas station across the street and come back. The manager should have gone to the bank and got change before the store even opened. This is probably the most ridiculous thing that has EVER happened to me at ANY retail establishment in my 58 years on Earth.
