Quite possibly the dirtiest restaurant I have ever stepped inside. Ordered at kiosk (1 not working) with only 1 guest at the counter. Had to find the cleanest dirty table to wipe down. Ordered to eat in and grabbed a table tent. Exactly 21 minutes later I hear someone yelling 'Table 2'! which was my table tent. 9 guests in the place and I counted 11 staff that I could see. I'm a local in Raton, New Mexico. Today, 19 Aug 2026, was the last straw for me. First, in the neighborhood of 8 times now I've been told at the drive up they would be right with me, then they go to the second drive through and take the order from a car that drove up after me. When the young lady this morning then asked me if I was using the mobile app I told her no and I'm driving through because it's about the 8th time you've told me to wait then took the order of the car in the other lane that drove up after me, bye. She snarkily said 'bye' in reply. That does not only happen when their busy either. And, virtually every time I get a drive up order there is something missing either from my order like hash browns, or no utensils, no salt/pepper, no napkins, no jelly, no butter, no syrup. Today was my last time at McDonalds in Raton. I then went next door to Arby's for their sourdough breakfast sandwich, which are very good by the way. read more

Ordered a steak bagel with light sauce and received a bagel with cheese, no sauce, no steak, no seasoning, name no onions. I had to return luckily from the gas station next door. The lady who took my order with the pony tail and hand tattoos had no accountability and the manager grabs the label from the sandwich throws in the bag and says "we don't take food back" The owner of this place should train workers on leadership and accountability. My employees and I pass here for work 2x (6employees) a day and stop each time for food In between. Im now packing sandwiches and grilling meat for us all and saving our money and headache. First stop out of CO traveling with 4kids under 6. 30 minute wait for food. Homeless in the outdoor seating area which was dirty. I get it that it is a very busy spot with a nomad clientele who just need to eat stretch the legs , but at least keep it clean and staff appropriately. read more

I worked there and their are staff members that are very difficult to work with while the people manager overlooks their rude and demeaning actions because they are friends. Stop here for pink uncooked hamburgers and half full smoothies. Quarter pounders on two occasions were pink and uncooked. I threw them away, unfortunately I ate part of one. I thought fast food restaurants learned their lesson after the Jack in the Box food poisoning deaths. The cheese burgers are overcooked, flat as if smashed, and dry. You will only eat them if you starving. The first time I got a half filled smoothie a young woman with tattoos apologized and filled it to the top before I even noticed. She was very nice, professional and seemed to really care about her customers. Thank you. On the second occasion a woman told me she would not fill the container and that's the way the machine makes them and then walked off. So I nicely asked for my money back, she relented and filled the cup. She was nice about it and thanked me for my business. It's a new and modern McDonald's with employees that seem professional and helpful. You can't stand at the counter for a few seconds before someone asks if they can help you. So what's the problem. On one occasion I noticed the two young men grilling were laughing and poking at the food and when they did something they probably shouldn't of, they suddenly stopped and looked towards me at the counter like two little kids trying to get away with something. Bottom line you need more employees like the young tattoo woman and the young man with curly hair under his ball cap. I commend them both for being friendly, professional, and treating their customers with respect. The others I think need just a little more supervision to make them better employees thus customers would stop and eat without hesitation. read more

I have never seen a McDonald's with so much trash on the floor. No one was at counter and only one kiosk was working. Tables were dirty. I barely got enough ice for my drink from the only ice dispenser that had any at all. I stopped here on my way to Texas, to use the bathroom and get a snack. I went into the women's bathroom, and NONE of the toilets were clean. They either had a huge wad of toilet paper in the bowl, or on the floor and the handicap one was almost overflowing. Then the faucets to wash your hands would not even turn on and there were NO paper towels. So, probably, the employees weren't washing their hands. I left as fast as I could. Don go here. I give this McDonald's all the stars because of their location. It is VERY convenient for me when I'm traveling to Colorado to stop here after being in the middle of nowhere for a few hours. There are some gas stations to choose from, and after filling up we hit up the mcds. We don't normally have to wait too long for our food. ATTENTION TEXANS: they do NOT have sweet tea! And I always forget that fact when I order because the dessert sand has made me so parched that I'm not thinking straight. So yea, heads up if you're looking for a $1 sweet tea full of cavity-provoking sugar to wet your whistle. You ain't finding it here LOL. The food is what you expect from McDonald's, same offerings. They hand it through the window hot, don't have any more to ask but that, right? I'm grateful! We always stop at this location when we travel to Denver and back to Tucson mostly because there is a small dog park in the back. It has picnic tables and our dog loves it However, today we stopped and were horrified at the amount of trash and dog poop everywhere. The trash cans were overflowing. As usual, with fast food or chain places, you either like the food or you don't. It's McDonald's, right? I mean... you know... Well, if you want your next McDonald's experience to be worse than your last one, head to Raton, NM. The location is perfect as it is right off I-25 near the Colorado/NM border and is next to a few gas stations. It also has ample parking for pretty much anything you, churches, schools, the military, small countries, etc. might be driving. We have stopped here once or twice per year on our travels between Texas and Colorado for a decade or so. 1. The service is consistently poor. The employees move incredibly slowly - as if they have some sort of skin affliction where the slightest hint of air moving across their skin causes excruciating pain. 2. The food is inconsistently average. After our last visit, Wonder Wife and I marveled at how a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and a Sausage McMuffin with Egg could both be crunchy, but in different ways. The fries were good, though. 3. The kiosk menu doesn't take into consideration what the differences are between the regular breakfast menu and what the 'all day' breakfast menu. So, when you order sausage biscuits on the kiosk, you are unknowingly being ridiculed by the employees because you're too stupid to know they only thaw out their biscuits during certain times of the day. 4. Your order will always be wrong. Always. Other than that, it's a great experience. read more

Less than a quarter tank of gas left, I exited off I-25. The fueling station happened to be right next to a McDonald's, and the YOLO switch in my brain got flipped. After filling up on regular unleaded, I pulled around and got in line for the drive-through. Had to wait a while to reach the order screen, then a while longer to pay at the first window, and then a while after that to make it to the second window and receive my order. A couple squirts of hand sanitizer later, I was back on I-25, waiting for a straight shot of highway to unwrap my quarter pounder with cheese. I ate the whole thing in five or six bites, chewing thoroughly to aid digestion. The decision to add green chile to this burger took it over the top in flavor. Absolutely delicious. That, for me, is a big perk of fast food in New Mexico: being able to order green chile on just about everything. Meanwhile, the McNuggets and fries also turned out to be fresh and crispy. Nicely done, kitchen crew. Keep up that level of quality and customers are going to stay satisfied. I award this McDonald's three stars, which I plant as a seed so that its fortunes may grow. read more

This place is in a great location but it's smaller than it should be. The parking lot seems big enough to accommodate all the heavy traffic but there are only a few cashiers available and they're a little on the slower side. There are also only three bathrooms in the female restroom with a changing table in the handicap room so there's usually a line. It's a great place to stop if you're traveling on I-25 because they usually have clean restrooms, but it's also a great stop for everyone else so expect there to be a lot of people during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also, they changed me for a large coffee because I asked for a large hot water to warm my infant son's baby bottle. Seriously? Do you know how many other places (other fast food restaurants, gas stations) I'm able to get a free cup of hot water? Everywhere else. Disappointing, McDonalds. Food was the standard McDonalds food. There isn't a play area inside, but they do have an area to walk your dog at the very back of the parking lot. read more

Pretty standard McDonald's experience. The place was pretty busy. Lines at the drive-thru, lines at the register, lines at the self-serve screen, even lines in the bathroom. However, the place was clean, the lines moved quickly, and our food came out promptly. Quality of the food is the McDonald's standard, pretty consistent in all regards.
