Location along the main drag of Port Moody, next to the police station. Parking is available in the lot next to the building, as well as on the street. The location is quite small. Definitely one of the smallest seating areas out there. I'm not sure there were even 25 seats. Staff were okay. For some reason, the location was closed a full 30 minutes before the stated hours on the door, which led to several random groups of customers trying unsuccessfully trying to enter the place, along with the frustrated hollering and yelling. I'd be frustrated too if I were in their situation. Honestly this is the fault of the operators of this place. Knock 1 star off. The cone was on the small side for some reason. I am flabbergasted to see this McCafe only got 1.5 star rating out of 27 reviews. I really don't understand what the people giving one star were up to! Why so mean? What have the staff done to upset that 20+ customers? As far as I can see while I'm lunch here, all the server girls were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Plus the hot delicious food. So I heard that there's a new menu item at McDonald's for the holidays, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. Who can resist something that sounds so delicious? McDonald's is now serving Parmesan & Garlic Seasoned Fries ($3.09, same price as large fries). I waited in the drive through line (only 4 people ahead of me) for a good 20 minutes before I got to my fries :( seems like they're inexperienced and short-staffed at this location. I also had to repeat myself twice before they got my order...I don't think McDonald's has another menu item that includes anything close to parmesan and garlic fries... I felt bad enunciating the words super slowly the third time before he got it. Anyways, the fries come in a poutine box and the smell of parmesan was super strong on the drive home. Excited, I opened the box to some beautiful golden fries when I got home. They look a little on the plain side, but can't judge a book by its cover right? ...They were pretty plain. Fries were still the same great fries with a small hint of parmesan and little to no garlic flavor at all. I felt so betrayed. It feels like instead of salt they just sprinkle it with parmesan and garlic flavoring powder (like for popcorn) minus the garlic flavor. Definitely could do better if you just got a large fries, unsalted, and brought your own parmesan garlic seasoning. More fries for your money! The majority of my orders from here have been screwed up. The staff are undertrained and it doesn't feel particularly well managed. There isn't anything to say about the food, it is very typical McDonald's. The rating is purely about service. It is slow, consistently over many months. The last two times I have been given pies for my time. Mind you I was the only car in the drive though and this was early evening. I have experience the same ultra slow service inside several times. I have had other locations take half the time this one does and apologize for the wait. This place was disgusting, spilled drinks and a dirty sticky floor, food bits, filthy tables, a filthy drink station and overfilled garbage cans. it is a small McDonald's with about 7 tables so should not be that hard to keep clean. It was not busy and plenty of staff, so no excuse in my opinion. Won't be going there again anytime soon. Port Moody Health Department, this place is worth a visit. Watched the manager rip off a customer blatantly. The restaurant charged the customer and then said the transaction didn't go through. The customer called their Bank up and the bank confirmed the purchase. The crazy manager refused to give the customer their ice cream and would rather let it melt away. The biggest victim here is the poor child that just wanted an ice cream. Before that the manager also publically shamed their employee (likely her first job) for making a mistake. THIS LOCATION NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. Health standards are not up to par. Walked in and there were flies everywhere. The tables, floors counters, were all dirty. The garbages were overly full. Garbage was falling out of the bin and onto the floor. The funny thing is the place was empty, which would've been a perfect time to clean it. The girl at counter couldn't even pretend to care. No hello or smile?She had a white hoodie on and it looked like it hadn't been washed in 2 weeks (gross). If I could give a 0 star I would for this Mcdonalds. I never even knew it was possible for a McDonald's to have such bad customer service, to be run so poorly until I came here. They are severely understaffed so don't expect service, whether it be at the drive through or in store experience, for at least 5+ minutes of waiting for someone to acknowledge you. When it is your turn at the cashier, you may be met by an extremely miserable looking employee or an extremely rude manager that will not greet you nor ask what you would like to order. Do not be surprised if they do not have what you want in stock and she will respond with a "No! We don't have that!" regardless of what time of day you go in the store. She will proceed to stalk off for another 5 minutes where you're left feeling flabbergasted at what you are supposed to say when she comes back or react to how rude you have been treated so far. The remaining 3 employees look severely miserable to be there and I'm not surprised by how they are treated by said manager. I order 5 meals for my family via the drive through only to be berated by their staff member because I was driving a motorcycle and that she was going to refuse to serve me and told me that if I wanted my food, I'd have to come inside to get it. That was after they took my payment I would have simply left. Let it be noted that there is no signage anywhere that motorcycles aren't allowed. Also, my bike was turned off, so noise wouldn't be a factor. I have used drive through many times at other McDonalds and this was never an issue before. Had a poor service here before with a rude manager. In the past you could print coupons from McDonald's official website. I went there with the printed coupons and the manager asked me where did I get the printouts from. I told her that it's an official coupons that everyone could (and allowed) to print as stated on the McDonald's website. The manager impolitely told me that they were fake. She refused to accept the coupons, told me to leave and warned me not to use those printouts. I was so embarrased.
