We took 2 large tour group buses full of middle schoolers and chaperones to this McDonald's yesterday on our way back to NC and this restaurant handled the sudden influx of teens brilliantly! The service was fast - the kitchen kept cranking out orders and fed the hungry bunch in record time. All the staff was working with a great positive attitude! The food was fresh, hot and just what one would expect from this chain. Also, the restaurant was super clean! I complimented and thanked the MOD for a great visit to McDonald's and told her that she had a great crew working for her. If McD's is on your mind and you are passing through or life in Orangeburg, SC, this is a home-run franchise. read more

In my entire life, I've never visited a McDonalds that requires permission to get a napkin or straw. Of course this place guarded the ketchup like it was gold. I sort of get it. But here's the deal. When you serve the food, go the extra half inch and offer sauces, ketchup, napkins and straws. I promise I won't go behind the counter again to get it myself. read more

When you walked in the door, there was garbage all over the floor. Someone had taken the trash out of the trash can and left it there. There was a manager that did not have a hair net on and was walking around with her phone to her ear and her pocketbook on her shoulder. There was no one at the front register. There was an employee complaining because she was off the clock and filling orders.( I feel sorry for her but she deserves a raise and needs to be made manager and that other one fired. Dining room hours are 5:30 to midnight , same as the drive-through hours. So when I rolled up at 6:05 am and the doors are locked, that's not great. And since my Sprinter van doesn't fit in their drive-through, that's also not great. I'm sure the "Great Resignation" is still underway but this is pretty bad. My mom, daughter, and I stopped here traveling back to Charleston on Saturday evening. It was getting late, we did not have dinner yet, but we wanted to get home. We decided to just have a quick dinner here. As you can see from my picture we ordered at 8:06pm. There was not many people in the dining room. We received our food twenty minutes later. Definitely not "fast" food. No one said sorry for the delay or wait. The food was fine, nothing to run home about. However, the ladies restroom, NASTY! I should of taken pictures. I watched six cars go through the drive-through and get the orders while we still waited. They can't consistently make coffee and provide poor service. Called and someone answered and said they were waiting for employees to open. If you expect more go find a 5 star experience and pay for the right - hint they don't come with a drive thru. I am never disappointed no matter what state or city - almost always a consistent experience for what it is. I gave this place a 5 star to help their average because I tend to not dine under 4 stars - but this McDonald meets expectation. 2 for $5 with fries and McFlurry. An average McDonald's, conveniently located right off the interstate and near a few hotels / gas stations. There are two drive-through lanes and two windows, so the flow of traffic went quickly. I wanted a sweet coffee so I got a large iced french vanilla latte - I didn't add any sweetener or anything to it and it was perfect. My order was correct and I was through the drive-through in just a couple of minutes, which is exactly what I'm hoping for when I stop at a fast food restaurant. read more

Rude customer service. we watched 3 cars in the other lane place their order. when we said, hello? we were told to give her a minute. really? then after waiting 15 minutes to crawl up to the window we were told to pull forward and wait. another 15 minutes and 7 cars get their food. we have to walk back to the window and ask they bring out the food. manager complaining she can't help it that she can't get people to come to work. Remember when you used to stop at McDonald's for a potty break because their bathrooms were cleaner than gas stations and how McDonald's always got a little money out of you because it's polite to spend money when you use a bathroom? Well, the day of clean bathrooms at McDonald's is apparently gone. I still spent a little money and got a drink, but that's just my old-fashioned upbringing talking. It's a McDonald's, fast food is their specialty. I needed a pit stop driving back home to Charleston. The indoor decor is modern, contemporary with a mix of seating options. I do like the tall tables with stools, nice option for us tall people. Service was good enough, had a greet at the register, she even asked how my day was going. Plenty of staff working, my order # called out, and a "have a nice day" was offered. My food was hot, drink service bar full, clean and in working order. Overall a decent McDonald's. read more

After waiting in the drive through not during peak hours I received a large order of ice cold fries, it was extremely hot outside not to mention Covid is still prevalent and my young daughter and I went inside to have the fries replaced as her ice cream melted inside the car and the rest of our food became cold. Once inside it was still chaotic the first customer who met my eyes said ma'am we've been waiting you may as well go to the front which I did. An employee came to ask what I needed and attempted to replace the fries with fries that had been sitting under the warming lamp so I asked if I could get some fresh from the grease. Why did I ask? She never came back and intentionally avoided assisting me , there had to have been at least 15 people running back and forth in the kitchen area but myself also with the other patrons waiting looked at them like what are you all accomplishing? Another young lady who I will credit did come and assist me with fresh fries as the first one glared but I will tell any of you reading this KEEP GOING DO NOT STOP HERE! I worked in fast food for 6 years and poor management is what's killing this business as the manager's did seem to help but need to push the employees to be more faster, orderly, friendly and courteous cause they certainly don't possessed any of these much needed characteristics to maintain a successful business; customer service still matters and no matter how long this business has been operating it won't continue with these issues much longer. read more

Horrible service. As someone who has a milk allergy it makes it very hard to find a place to eat. The fries have milk in them, so I tried switching them for apples. However, even after telling them I had an allergy they still refused to switch the fries for apples and wanted me to pay extra for apples. They were not considerate at all. McDonalds is never great but it's acceptable more often than not. My experience was one the the nots. There was only one car in front of me and I was in the drive thru for over 15 min. The person in front of me must have been there awhile because she was honking her horn and knocking on the window. That should have been a clue but it was like 2am and everything else was closed. When I got to the window I saw why it was taking so long. There were 4 employees in the lobby sitting on the counter talking. After I finally got my Big Mac, I was really unhappy. It was trash. Cold, stale and had no special sauce on it. Don't waste your time or your money. You are better off eating the actual currency than that garbage they are handing out the window. This was genuinely the worst service i have ever had- and i've had a mcdonald's mess up a cup of ice before! When i walked in there was a large jumbled line and nobody at the register. I ordered 2 sausage mcmuffins with egg, two kids meals and a m&m mcflurry . i was waiting for 20 minutes to get my food and in all that time i saw four orders be fulfilled when the screen clearly showed there were at least 7 waiting at any time sometimes reaching over a dozen meals waiting. As i waited there were staff yelling across the kitchen, and half the people were standing doing nothing, and if they were shockingly mobile they were slowly walking to other workers EVEN THOUGH SO MANY WERE WAITING. When i finally got my meal every part of it was messed up. The mcmuffins didn't have egg and the cheese not only wasn't melted, but COLD, i asked for double fries instead of apples in one of the kids meals and both only had one fry, so one was missing an apple and one missing a fry, and they didn't even give us the mcflurry. Oh, the mcflurry. i went back in to get it and after an exchange with a very rude worker, she went and made an oreo mcflurry instead of an m&m, and when this was pointed out she didn't apologize or anything, but was rude again and "made" the mcflurry... but not really. she put in a few m&ms at the bottom, put in soft serve, and put some m&ms on the top without mixing it on the machine. Absolutely everything about this establishment was horrible and inconvenient and i suggest you skip this exit and go to the next truck stop. read more

Okay so some friends and I are headed to Flordia and we decided to stop for lunch. First off, when did McDonalds stop serving egg whites after 11? I not supposed to eat the yolks and I don't eat meat. When I received my biscuit it felt like it was sitting on the counter for several hours and my egg was scorched with black covering the side with cheese in an effort to hide it. My fries weren't warm and there was no way they had been fixed within the past 30 minutes. Including my food several of my friends also had problems. She ordered her McMuffin with no ham... there.was extra ham on it. At this point I'm laughing because it's funny that they can be this silly. OH and the way it was handled? My friend and I went back to the register, manager looked at me when she saw I had my food and receipt in my hand and rolled her eyes at me, turned her back and completely ignored us. It took 3 minutes before one of the 20 employees even Acknowledged our existence. When someone finally came to ask us what was wrong here's the conversation. Her:what's the problem? Me: well my biscuit is hard and my- Her: fine I'll fix it She proceeded to rip the biscuit put of my hand and completely ignore my friend standing right next to me. Fast forward to when my biscuit was fixed and she was waiting on her McMuffin to be fixed. It was made and ready but we didn't get it until we stopped someone and asked them to hand them out food that had been sitting in the holding well for now 2 minuets. When we finally got our remakes my biscuit was even harder than last time. I knew I wasn't going to get it fixed so we left and fed it to my dog. This restaurant is horrible. The service is slow and the workers are incompetent. A simple request cannot be followed even after it was repeated correctly. The fries were not prepared properly, being soggy and lacking salt. The employees could not keep the lanes in order causing a mix up between orders. I would not recommend wasting your time, money, or energy to deal with people who do not pay attention to their jobs.
