a chicken sandwich on a wrapper
    Amy P.

I was so excited to try the new crispy chicken sandwich. I drove over in the pouring rain. I ordered three of them to go as well as six cheeseburgers. I had to wait on the side for them to be made and brought out to the car. They were presented in a thick envelope style packaging with the foil interior. I opened it to take a look at it. It looked dry. I actually took it apart to see that it was only a bun with a coated chicken breast and two pickles. I was shocked! Did they forget to put the sauce on? I went and looked at one of the other chicken sandwiches that I had bought, hoping it was a mistake. Nothing! It was just as dry. The sandwich was hot, but definitely not crispy. I couldn't get it down without anything on it. Way too dry. I ended up finding a ketchup packet that I had stored in the glove compartment. The sandwich is a big disappointment The fact that it needed something added in order to get it down is terrible. There is no comparison with Popeyes. I liked the buttered roll, but it just didn't matter because everything else was just mediocre at best. McDonald's, you either need to give people a sauce on the sandwich or give them packets of something to put on it. I am truly shocked that anybody liked the sandwich in a focus group, as it stands now. It is definitely a work in progress. Very disappointing.

UPDATE (6/4/2025):…read more This is an update to my review for this Chik-Fil-A, a review I had done less than a month before I first became an Elite on Yelp and was my 38th review overall. I make this review because there are a few opinions I have had that changed this visit albeit my number of stars given to the place does remain at a 4. Here's the thing. At first I did not like how the place was renovated. I didn't like how I couldn't just come here when I could the Christmas season before last because it was closed down for the changes. But once I came in here tonight, I've found that they have grown on me so to speak. I had found myself at how impressed I was at the organization of the place as a whole. UberEats has a separate they can enter through to pickup deliveries which is something I have not seen in a fast food restaurant before. Also, this is a clean Chik-Fil-A that actually cleans up after itself. This proves that you CAN be a big franchise and keep a well-functioning restaurant without trashing it to oblivion. Chipotle can seriously take some notes here. Where my opinion has lessened a bit is the waffle fries. You can still taste salt on these, but they're unfortunately not as flavorful as I remember. You know how there's a saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? Well, that should have applied to the waffle fries here cause they weren't broke before. But they're still good enough that I can't be too mad at it. Everything else I said in my previous review still stands. And the people working here are friendly, especially for fast food service workers. And yes, I still love coming here after REI trips for a nice treat for dinner. Oh, and don't skip the Dragonfruit Lemonade this summer! It's quite refreshing!

The space itself is a gallery of imagination, its murals blooming across the walls like stories painted in color and light. I began with a Strawberry Milk and a Pink Lemonade. The lemonade danced on the palate--bright, refreshing, almost sunlit (9/10). The strawberry milk was soft and sweet, a quiet pleasure (7/10). We ordered two Mild Naughty Neighbors, each one a revelation: tender, flavorful, crafted with care. The mac and cheese arrived like a warm embrace--creamy, rich, and nearly flawless, though I found myself wishing for just a touch more of it (9/10). The Code Bites followed with their own charm, crisp and comforting. And then the chicken--undeniably the crown jewel--juicy, vibrant, kissed with just the right whisper of heat. A perfect 10/10, without question. We closed with the banana pudding, Creamy and nostalgic, a sweet farewell (9/10). In its entirety, our visit was a beautiful experience--thoughtful, flavorful, and truly memorable--a resounding 9/10.

The chicken sandwiches were pretty good. The chicken was nicely seasoned-could use a touch more, the veggies were fresh, the bread (potato bun) was really good. It held the sandwich all the way through and didn't break up. I got mine medium so it wasnt too spicy, but overall was cool. The chicken tenders were for my kid- he got them country (no spice). The chicken was solid- same as the Sandos, it could use a bit more seasoning but overall decent chicken. My biggest gripe was the wait and the fries. It took quite a while for my order to be ready and the restaurant wasn't that crowded. Maybe 4 people in the store and possibly a car in drive-thru lane. Yet, when we received the fries they were cold. I went back in and the team was nice enough to provide newer fries and they were warmer, but not much better. My last issue was the sheer amount of fries provided. There are so few given to the customers. When you look at the pictures on the site they show a healthy amount of fries, but what was provided in the order didn't even scratch that surface. I didn't take pics of the fries-too underwhelmed, but... Please do better.

I ordered the half sub and it was more than enough. I wished I could have chosen a different bread because this role seemed just basic. But the fillings made up for it. Fresh cut meats and cheese, thin shredding lettuce and tomato then mayo. It was great in its simplicity. I'd say the price is reasonable for what you get. If you can, definitely give it a try!

I had read some suspiciously positive reviews about Dairy King on Yelp, and ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I get that generations of Norwalkers and others have fond memories of their time here, and it was with that fact in mind that I ignored my intuition and entered the outdated, near-empty facade just after noon. For the new and unititiated, a word of admonition: do not let your senses fool you. Dairy King looks like a dive, and tastes like a dive, and not in any delicious way. I get that going pretty much anywhere for ice cream on a hot summer day is fun. What I do not get are comments here asserting that Dairy King's food, particularly their burgers are anything more than mediocre, studiously average at best, and a dubious step up over major chains. To all who will, in the the romantic twilight after Little League games or movies, arrive at Dairy King hungry and ready and willing to scarf down just about anything, I hope for your sake that good experiences continue, that fine memories of family and friends are created and then savored in the hopefully delicious silence of your unfolding life. But for me Dairy King is far behind even the middle of the pack in it's chosen catagory, my days of eating "just about anything" are well behind me, and Dairy King will have to take it the rest of the way without me, at least until the day the real estate developers lean on City Hall to condemn that section of Main Avenue (under a phonied-up interpretation of the eminent domain statutes) and Dairy King inevitably (and blessedly) falls to the wrecking ball, destined to become mixed-use retail with residential up above.

"I'll go back to the diner I'll write another letter…read moreI hope you'll read it this time" (Billie Eilish) I kind of laughed when our server brought over our menus. They were in a heavy book (reminded me of a high school yearbook) with six pages of choices plus an insert of daily specials. Post Road is the kind of diner that diner lovers dream of. Their menu is an embarrassment of riches and would seamlessly fit in alongside anything you would find on the Sunrise Highway on Long Island or on Route 17 in New Jersey. Three of us walked in around 11:30am today, and our first order of business was deciding if we'd go for lunch or breakfast food. We all went for breakfast plates- pancakes ($9.99) with a side of scrambled eggs ($2.99), GF Pancakes ($12.98), and for me a "Protein Breakfast" ($13.99) and a coffee ($3.49). So, I'm sure you're asking, "what on earth is a protein breakfast?' Well, it was four egg whites, a few gorgeous tomato slices, and a nice piece of grilled chicken. It was pretty filling and everything tasted great. Our server was efficient and professional and swiftly brought over a "to go" box for the excess of those enormous pancakes. The dining room is awesome, a real throwback to the 1950's with plenty of old-time booths, art deco neon signs, checkerboard ceramic tile, and music\entertainment\pop culture images everywhere. We really enjoyed our visit !

It's also surprisingly vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, they offer vegan meats so you can swap them into a lot of the classic dishes, which is rare for a taqueria. The food is outstanding. Even the free chips and salsa they start you with are memorable: the chips are fresh and super crunchy, and the salsa has real depth of flavor, not just heat. The entrées are some of the best value around, the burritos are massive (one could easily feed two or three people), and for takeout, the quesadillas literally come in a pizza box, which tells you everything you need to know about portion size. Their appetizers, queso, and house-made hot sauce are all excellent and full of flavor, not just spice. Most times I've been, the service has been fast, even when they're busy.
