I honestly don't understand why this McDonald's does not have a much higher rating. I just started going here about a month or so ago and I've gone four times already and every single time has been superb. I take my daughter here after school sometimes and we have dined in every time. Our food is always brought out on a tray promptly, including condiments like ketchup and salt. They are very friendly and knowledgeable, and they all seem to take pride in their work, which is not a common occurrence at McDonald's or any fast food joint for that matter. They're always kind and serving people with a smile. It's just unheard of!! We've also gone with friends in the drive through and although I wasn't the one ordering they were very polite and everything was correct with our orders. Over 90 stars and 1 for a reason. Based on one visit. My wife has been wanting McDonald's breakfast for some time so we stopped here as we gad down time waiting for someone. We used the auto ordering system, took a number to take to our table and waited. And Waited. And waited. On a whim I went to the counter and there was our food. We took a bite and the hash browns were cold. We asked if we could have hot and fresh hash browns and they did replace them = Good. But people working here seemed less happy and motivated. Every time I go through this drive-thru, I know I can leave without worrying if my order is correct. Maybe it is just during the time that I go but regardless, the employees are always fast, polite, and friendly, which is something that isn't expected but 100000% appreciated from a McDonalds. He was yelling all sorts of nasty things at them. All the other employees in the place were just ignoring this. Then the guy turned to me and started mouthing off. This was unbelievable, all I could do in the moment was just wonder if this guy was for real. I decided to leave, because there was no point anymore. Now I seem to remember going into this McDonald's in the not-too-distant past, this SAME GUY being there and it felt like he was trying to pick a fight with me. Back then, I did call to complain, and the woman who answered the phone said that she would "take care of it". Well, apparently, nothing ever did happen because this guy is still there. I know reviews do not matter when it comes to fast food because it is an awful necessity but if I was an owner I would review yelp and make appropriate changes. I wish I was a secret shopper because I would nail this place. After I "pull ahead" and wait for my food the lady walks out and hands it to me and walks away. No straws and no BBQ sauce. I tried again a month later (because it was on the way and my kids were starving after hockey) and I seriously waited 30 minutes for 2 kids meals. TERRIBLE! I went to the drive thru with my granddaughter. They have two lanes, there was one person in front of me and two people in the other lane. I dislike coffee, so in the mornings I have been going through the drivethru to get a soda pop and cheap burrito/biscuit for breakfast before work. Many times they are crazy slow for no good reason that you can see. I finally went inside this week when they were very slow with the outside service to see why. The management had an employee slowly cleaning the shake machine, blocking everyone. At the same time, a cloud of old people were slowly moving up to the counter, ordering senior coffees, then slowly moving up to get them and disputing the amount of coffee/cream/sugar, taking the attention of two employees. July 2019. I have written to McD's corp mgmt a number of times re this location. They forward i to the franchisee. To her credit she called today (which is why I doubled my star count to two). But here is the explanation I received for why it took ~16-17 minutes to get a cup of coffee and an iced tea. This is a quote from the email they sent me: "I received your complaint regarding your visit to the 6 Mile and Haggerty McDonald's location yesterday afternoon. It looks like you walked into the store at 3:02:09 and went to the kiosk, you left the kiosk at 3:04:19. You then had to wait it line to pay because you didn't use a credit card, you waited from 3:04 until you got up to the counter to pay at 3:10:30. The gentleman in front of you was being waited on from 3:06 - 3:10. From the time you paid until the time you received your drinks was 4 minutes." So evidently they only count from the time your reach the counter to the time you cash out with your receipt - which was 4 minutes. (I'm sure they blind .cc'd the corporate folks I'd written to). Seriously! That logic is like if i took my car to the dealer and waited 3 hours but the actual oil change only took 20 minutes....so I my complaint about the 3 hour wait is invalid because the oil change only "took 20 minutes". ...you can't make this stuff up! Oh, and by using the kiosk (which I thought they wanted us to do), it set my behind several more people who walked in while I was at the kiosk. And the fact that I paid CASH evidently also slowed down the process (per the franchise owner) ...my bad. Unbelievable. read more

Their unhappy, impassionate, and disengaged work force have made this my all time worst McDonald's experience of all time. I have gone here numerous times and always experience extended wait times and screwed up orders. The employees want to share their unsolicited opinion on how they don't like their job, their pay, their hours, or company policies. I am surprised that corporate has allowed such a low performing franchise to continue to exist without some type of intervention. This location is just awful. I was told last week when I went that I had to use the kiosk. So I did, and there were items it would not let me order like fries. So I asked for help and they told me they cannot help me. I got upset and said, how do I order fries then? They said it's our owner that wont let us help you. Then they compared the restaurant to Walmart, and said-you don't get help there either. So they gave me some free items since I could not order and pay for it. Great way to save money with using kiosks instead of people-with having to give away food. On top of that, they gave us hamburgers instead of cheeseburgers, which was ordered on the kiosk. Then we went to go sit down and eat and the place was filthy. Food all over the floor, sticky floors, tables not wiped down, no ice in the machine, no straws, ect. I went thru the drive thru 11/13/21. I ordered a med. Fry with NO SALT and a water. I didn't check the fries, until after I left. The fries were so salty, even if I didn't have a heart condition it would put my daily allowance over the limit, like for a week. Last week I woke up with swollen eyes, tasted salt for 3 days, had salt coming out of my tear ducts, and upper chest, monitored for week. I ate a ton of bananas, water, calcium. Here is googles statement for adult females. The recommended daily sodium intake for healthy adults is no more than 1,500 to 2,300 milligrams (mg)--about the amount in two-thirds of a teaspoon to one teaspoon of table salt. PLEASE TEACH THE YOUNG ADULTS SOME NUTRITION FACTS, SO THERE NO OVERDOSING THEIRSELVES AND THE COMMUNITY ON SALT. read more

I went in and placed an order at the kiosk. I received my order 42 min later. After 30 min I finally got the attention of Steve who told me I would have to wait. After calling to speak with the manager Carol she told me it wasn't her fault because she just got there. I called the corporate office who took my complaint and offered no apologies. I'm not looking for compensation but some sympathy or a simply apology would have went a long way. I will never go to this location again and after the treatment from corporate I don't expect to visit any McDonald's locations again. All the problems of this McDonald's boil down to one thing: poor managment. They are slow, they get orders wrong at least 50% of the time, and the people working there are clearly miserable. Now, travel a mile south down Haggerty to the McDonald's on Five Mile and you'll find yourself having a halfway decent experience.
