This McDonald's is located at the Love's Travel Center just outside of Newton. After getting a late start after landing in Des Moines, I was heading off to Iowa City and for a early evening dinner. But once on the road, I needed something to tide me by and this McDonald's was a convenient stop off I-80. The touch screen ordering system was down and it was a pleasure to place an order with a human being, and a very helpful one. We negotiated to a double cheeseburger, small fries, and lemonade, which came out fast enough. Fast food is fast food, but a nice human touch does make a difference. read more

Visit this McDonald's during the afternoon and it was not really busy at all so I ordered and payed at the convenient machine, the wait was not long at all and they got my order right. Easy in and out service can't ask for anything more. Overall experience was decent. read more

Service here is terrible. Normal McDonald's food but service is so bad. Five people all working up front. Made our coffee then cleared the screen to get the order to stop blinking even through we didn't have our food. Watched three groups who came in after us get their food. Asked what we were waiting on and they said sausage egg McMuffin. I said like the three you put in the other peoples bags who walked in after we ordered! Newton in terms of food is about 1.5 Stars. Given your choices, this is about as good as it will get. This establishment has pretty reliable service. I don't recommend you eat inside because there are annoying flies here. Despite that, the food was pretty fresh. I had the Filet-o-Fish and it did the job. Okay so this will be long one but my boyfriend and I just had a popped tire we had to change on the side of the road and we stopped to fill up air at the loves gas station. We decided to grab food cause we have a long trip. So we ordered and payed and when they gave us our food they forgot one of our fries and our receipt. So we wait for an employee and they walk pass and look at us multiple times but don't come over so we knocked on the window nothing finally I reach over and honk the horn. I tell my bf to apologize for that cause Ik it's rude. When someone finally comes like 10 minutes later and we tell them they ask for our receipt which we didn't get. Then they inform us they have to make a new batch I guess abuse it's gonna take a minute. We wait so my bf starts eating and he ordered a Big Mac w/o pickles and you guessed it pickles. We get our fries and I start this review. Now I have worked fast food before many times and never once would this have flown by with the managers watching. It wasn't busy we were THE ONLY COSTUMERS AT THE STORE. It's just unacceptable. The employees weren't rude but you could tell they didn't care about the people they were serving. Quality of service was good, but the food was mis-served, even though receipt says correct item.

Sometimes people amaze me... And not always in a good way! I had a wonderful meal in Newton... I'm staying in a hotel out by the Iowa Speedway and there is a Love's truckstop across the way with a McDonald's.... So I think... I'll go thru the drive thru and get a caramel frappe.... Well... There is some junk car literally parked across the drive thru blocking it with no one inside of it.... Apparently this is their way of closing the drive-thru!....so I go inside... No one working the counter... So I stood there for a full five minutes with two female employees seeing me standing there.... Finally one turns to me and not in the most polite way shouts across the room "are you paying by cash or card!?".... I said cash.... She literally rolled her eyes... Gave a huge sigh... And comes to the only register that was open where I was standing... And not in any polite manner at all "what can I get you!?".... My answer... "how about a new attitude?".... That went over about like a fart in church.... Ordered my frappe... Paid and she actually threw the change at me and walked off... I made a point of watching her make it so she didn't put anything "extra" in my drink.... Amazing! And they want a raise!? read more

just went to McDonald's to get the usual quarter pounder with cheese decided to eat in today. Service was exceptional but the inside experience was not. I sat down and was minding i my own business, waiting for my food, and this old lady was staring at me very intensely. I try to ignore her and eat my meal, but she continued to stare me down. I eventually finished my meal, and she was still staring at me so I got up, threw away my food and threw my chocolate shake at her. it's splattered everywhere and then her husband got up and yelled at me and said she was blind. Pulled up to the drive thru, I said I need to order the 2 for 6 deal. The drive thru employee said, "you don't need, you want" we were kind of in shock so took a few a seconds, then he said "well, what do you want? I ordered the two things, he then said are you done? So completely rude. I asked for his name, he said "do I know you?" When I got to the window I asked if he was the one that took my order, he said yes. I told him his behavior and comments were rude and uncalled for. He said he didn't say the first comment but we all heard him. I again asked for his name but he wouldn't tell me...imagine that, huge sign he knew he behaved inappropriately. It was 9pm on 9/16/21. 20's, blondish red hair and attitude a mile long. The lady at the next window wouldn't tell us his name either. I get that staffing is tough right now but come on, this kind of behavior is not acceptable. If I could give this a 0 then I would. this is the worst McDonald's I've been to,there a couple reasons why,first the place is filthy and nobody ever cleans that place.secondly you have to wait 40 minutes until you actually get the food. This McDonalds is one of the Megabus stops from Chicago to Omaha. The McDonald's has a lot of seating for dine-in patrons. The staff was friendly and very efficient and was able to serve 30-40 of us relatively quickly. They have a lot of options on their $1 menu and my favorite was the hot fudge sundae. They also have a drive-thru window here. read more

I was greeted by a very nice young girl named destiny I ordered placed my order very efficiently I received my change and then noticed that the young man blonde hair maybe 6ft maybe a little taller That Was preparing my sandwiches was not wearing gloves when I asked about this the crew trainer who was working on the front line told me that he is wearing gloves that they are just clear I press the issue and she got a little belligerent saying that they have to wear gloves at all times this young man was not wearing gloves and when I pointed this out she got downright rude read more
