This is a busy McDonald's location, it is located at 413 Oxford Road, the location is a short walk away from the Central Manchester Hospitals and is in a busy student area with the Universities also nearby.
It's pretty much your average McDonald's - yet it always seems to be crowded and it often feels like the space they have inside the restaurant isn't enough. On my most recent visit, I used the McDonald's app to order at my table, and I was able to request the food be dropped off at the table, I was later informed that they no longer offer table service - this was really confusing as I was not given an order number due to requesting table collection.
In the end, a staff member had to call out my name alongside the order number for me to realise it was my food - I understand the fact they did not want to do table service given how busy they were but the option needs to be removed from the app, as if I wasn't paying attention, or was sat at a table further away from the counter, I could have missed my food.
I did have a bit of a wait for food, but with the store being very busy, and ordering without a bun, meaning they'd have to make it fresh, I can't hold it against them. I ordered my usual McDonald's order - a Quarter Pounder with cheese (without the bun) and medium fries, which came to £6.29 with a drink, with the medium meal deal offer.
My food was hot, and my burger was customised correctly (no bun or pickles), however, the fries were tasteless.
3* - OK, It's a pretty standard McDonald's, far from the best food or environment in the world, but certainly useful, especially with the nearby hospitals. I wanted to try and eat food after my surgery, as the MRI had no suitable food for my dietary requirements, and it fit the bill for me on this occasion. read more
