One of the best Filet-O-Fish I've had at a McDonald's [Ludlow MA] Today was all travel day for us and because of unexpected delays that we experienced during our flight time and car rental issues our schedule got out of whack. This was one of the fast food places we found on the way. This was the first time ever I've seen the original mascot Speedee at a McDonald's. I didn't know there was a different mascot prior to Ronald McDonald. This little guy is a jaunty, pudgy, winking little chef with a hamburger for a head and a chef's hat meant to advertise McDonald's speedy service. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of him ¯\_('~')_/¯ He was also the first company logo before the use of the arches design from 1962. They retired Mr Speedee in 1962, one year after they started using the arches. The Golden Arches is how I identify McDonald's. Some older McDonald's stores still have a Speedee sign in front. This location looks like a new or re-built one without updating the sign. It was pretty neat to see. Loved how they made their Filet-O-Fish. Tasty, fresh, and delicious. I wouldn't normally review a McDonald's but... Super rude to his employee. Telling her she shouldn't ask him for help she should just guess. And then she only ordered one sandwich and we went to walk away and looked but said we ordered to and he guy was all no you didn't we ordered one and we were like we ordered two and he's ran over to his screen and backed it up and was like nope there's one here you ordered one. And I was like no I ordered two , she may have rung up one but I ordered two and then he suck his hand in my bra and took out my receipt and said see you only ordered one so I took back my receipt and said "okay, instead of being a dick.." And was going to finish with he could just sell us the second sandwich we ordered and he cuts me off with "ma'am you just swore you can leave my restaurant". And then he held his hands up like I had a weapon or something and gestured the staff that were mostly not paying attention and went "they saw it! I got witnesses I got witnesses!" "Dick" was polite. This man was a miserable excuse for a human being. The girl who entered the order wrong gave us the most sincere apologetic look as we walked out. She needs another job. She's better than this. He, on the other hand, found his calling. In other news, upon seeing the sandwich my boyfriend got (which was 1/4 the size chicken in he picture and looked like it had been cooking for hours into a withered pile of something resembling chicken, I'm glad I didn't have to eat one and happily feasted on some Cheez Its we had in the car. read more

Why is senior small coffee so expensive here? At nearby Lee service area it is 70 cents cheaper. Most senior s don't have extra money.

So this is my experience with this McDonald's - after being rudely dragged out of bed at some obscene hour to go to the antique show in Brimfield, we pulled into this rest area for snacks and stretch break. You cannot imagine my exhausted joy to see a sign advertising the toy of the moment at McDonald's - Snoopy in space! The kindly woman behind the counter got out their box of toys, found they had all 8 available, and let me purchase them. It was delightful, because now I don't have to go McDonald's to McDonald's searching for the complete set. Some are not as generous with allowing people to purchase such items. So in that regard, the McDonald's is A-OK. read more

Went here and asked for two Big Macs. Cashier said no receipt, printer not working. At pick window I was told it was too busy to print a receipt. It was not busy. No one behind me. I asked for a manager and was told to pull over and wait. I stayed at the window. I refused to wait for a manager and after a couple minutes I started sounding my horn. Still no one behind me. I just wanted my receipt. Cashier quickly came with receipt.she told me I was a jerk. Am I an asshole for requesting a receipt? Is this not normal business practice? read more

Maybe I'm about to be harsh here because I couldn't find anyplace to stop in Holyoke after taking a class there. But this had to be the worst experiences in recent history for me. The only good thing I have to say is the place was clean. The young woman taking my order was barely paying attention as she took my order. She was too busy talking about I pods with the store manager. Glad to see he was setting a good example for his crew. Didn't ask me what size drink or fries I preferred. She did ask what I wished to drink. Why bother. It's self serve. It's not like she's going to be useful and make it for me. My medium McNugget meal cost me eight bucks and certainly wasn't worth it. I should have known better and waited another forty minutes until I got home. You can bet next time I will. read more

Everyone needs to stop to pee when they're on a road trip. If you're traveling on I-90 and don't mind McD's as a dining option, this is a cute place for a short stop. This McD's has the old logo with the funny little man in a chef's hat, with the universal golden arches running through the entirety of the restaurant. We didn't actually eat here, but did enjoy a game of pinball and a less successful go at the claw machine. read more

Was driving home from Springfield Ma after working an MMA Show was starving so pulled into rest stop to grab a quick bite before my almost 2 hour ride. The food was probably a 3 1/2 -4 I got 2 egg McMuffins and 2 hash browns and I mean it's pretty tough to screw up an egg sandwich. The store itself was pretty clean and restrooms also were ok. The thing that drives this rating down was when I walked in there was few people hanging out front smoking butts I just figured they were other travelers until I went in and went to counter and no one is there then all of a sudden one of the guys that was outside comes in and says sorry and takes my order he didn't prepare it though thankfully. He says it'll be 3 minutes which it probably was and I get my order I go sit down and as soon as this guy serves me he's back outside smoking and I later notice all the other ppl out there with him 1/2 are employees. So I just had to wonder how long till the cook was gonna go out and join them. Why not go outside back door so customers don't see it I don't know but there's 3 or 4 other rest stops on this route home I will not be stopping at this one again read more

This place is terrible. 20-25 min wait for food inside, 15-20 min on the drive thru. Do yourself a favor and just starve yourself until you reach civilization. read more

The price you pay at any McDonald's on the Mass Pike is going to be above average (just try finding Dollar Menu items). But this one is worth a visit if only for the nostalgia. It's got old-style arches and interesting signs. The inside is brightly lit and there are quite a few more booths than average. The folks behind the counter appeared to make an extra effort to make sure you got your meal promptly if it looked like it might be taking too long, and they thanked everybody for stopping in. read more

Food is never warm, never fresh, most of the time it's so greasy you can barely eat it without being incredibly sick, this is an absolute last resort for any type of food. Horrible place. This is the third time Ive come to this place late at night. Absolutely no one at the counter or anyone in the kitchen. Stood there for 15 minutes and no one there to take my order so I left once again without any food. Upper management should step it up and get some help that want to do their job. read more

McDonalds at the Ludlow Travel Plaza eastbound on the Mass Pike. Typical McDonald's fare for the weary traveler.

Not only is this Mcdonalds ridiculously overpriced, but you can tell the hiring process is less of a process and more of a "Oh, you have a pulse. You're hired!" You could tell that management doesn't give a damn about how the place is run. There were items on the menu that you couldn't even get. The kid running the register was using his phone to do math. Why have a register if you can't use it? So not only did I spend almost five dollars on a breakfast sandwich, but I have a bitchy kid with a face tattoo fumbling with my money for two fucking minutes, all the while I'm sitting here wondering if it's really worth it. They didn't even give me napkins in the bag (that was ripped). But hey, if you wanna deal with the shitty fucking service and ridiculous prices this is the place for you. Go team. read more
