UNCLEANLINESS & POOR SERVICE…read more The restaurant's floors were sticky and the bathroom had a stinky smell as if someone peed on the floor and did not clean it for a long time. The service was slow and poor. It's called "fast food" not "slow food". The cashier was impatient and had a annoyed look. When my food was being made I noticed the cook didn't wear any gloves. When making the grilled chicken wrap, he used his hands to grab the bacon and chicken. After cooking, he did not wash his hands and continued to mop the floors! The food was not that great either. The only thing that was remarkable was the onion rings which were thin and crispy. This Harvey's was also serving Swiss Chalet food. I got the strawberry shake which tasted overly sweet and artificial. The classic burger was cold when I picked up my order. It was bland and had no flavour other than the pickles. I've never seen a fast food joint with such poor hygiene! I would not even come here because of the terrible service alone, but knowing that I ate food that was made from someone who cleaned the floors and made food without wearing gloves or washing their hands will always haunt me.

Went to this location, a combo Harvey's-Swiss Chalet, last evening for the first time and ordered a…read morehalf chicken with fries. The chicken was fine - the usual rotisserie chicken from Swiss Chalet - but the fries were horrible. They were pale, skinny, tasteless and barely edible, not the usual crispy, soft-centred, plump, tasty fries you would normally get at a Swiss Chalet restaurant. Very disappointed that they would substitute these inferior Harvey's fries in Swiss Chalet orders. Also for take out, why would include plastic utensils in the order? Do they think people buying take out don't have cutlery at home? Won't likely be returning to this location.

I was up in Muskoka and we came here for dinner on a Saturday around 5pm. I had my initial…read morehesitations thinking it might be some basic pub food. Who knew this restaurant out in Gravenhurst is better than many Toronto restaurants in the city. One of my fav meals in a while. This Oar recently undergone a new concept change to Lamorna. While they still kept the Oar as their name given the familiarity and reputation of the previous restaurant concept, the menu and indoor decor has completely changed with a new chef in the last couple months. The menu is farm to table and it rotates weekly, and I can really taste the quality difference. Note a burger will always be on the menu and we really like their dry age burger, rich and the accompanying fries are so delicious, I wouldn't mind ordering more on the side. We also dined at their outdoor patio and were able to bring my friends' pups to dine with us. Towards the end of the meal, the chef even came out to personally greet us and we can really feel the passion and care he places in his food. His menu is inspired by his travels and he recently sold two of his restaurants and took on this opportunity to head up this restaurant. The chef actually goes around and sources ingredients directly from the farms and locally in his own car. We also appreciated the fresh pasta and thick cut schnitzel. We also absolutely love the eggplant and the croquettes too. Actually everything we had was great and a highlight and that's rare for me to find all the dishes impressive at a restaurant. Highly recommend to get their bread service so you can use the bread to clean up the sauces from the remaining plates. Bread is not included unless ordered. I also love the charm of the plates and cutlery. They open a box of different knives you can pick to dine with. I'll Highly recommend this spot! The attention to detail, quality in food and personal service makes this spot special.

All of us were delightfully surprised by the food and the overall experience. They had picnic tables on the patio and plenty of tables/booths inside + a bright large enclosed room beside the patio. Service was warm and friendly, who was attentive to my son and my family. She recommended the burger. They patty was grounded in house and seasoned perfectly and you can choose the fries, salad or daily soup as a side. You can also upgrade to poutine or onion rings (which looked good from a nearby table). Spring salad was well presented and fresh. Prices were higher than comparative restaurants in Toronto (eg Poutine is $15) but it feels like everything in Muskoka is pricier! A gem in Gravenhurst, I would recommend to stop by on your way in/out of Muskoka! It's also right across the street from Sawdust Brewery if you fancy a brew before or after!
