I still tried to enjoy myself since this was literally my birthday dinner. When I presented the Groupon, the server kept telling me there was a restriction "in the terms somewhere," even though the $50 voucher has none. It literally says you can use it any day. They eventually accepted it. Our card was run before we could review the check. Afterward, we found a $13.38 charge labeled "8+ Gratuity (20%)" on a receipt that says "Guest Count: 2." Staff told us the owner requires 20% gratuity on all Groupon orders. That isn't mentioned anywhere in the Groupon terms or on the menu. I'm happy to tip, and I want it to be my choice. Retaliatory or deceptive business practices are not cool.

One thing to note: the other lunch specials come with scoop fries, but the chicken fingers do not, they only come with dipping sauces. So I ordered an extra side of fries. The fries were actually good, but unfortunately, the chicken fingers were not. They were very, very greasy and not crunchy at all. Maybe the cooking oil wasn't hot enough, or the frying technique was off. I ended up removing all the beer batter breading, ate two of them, and tossed the rest. For the type of food being served and the atmosphere (diner like), and self-service (go get your own food when it is called), I expected a more reasonable price. The other thing that surprised me was the wait time. Even when not busy, the food will easily take 15+ minutes without ordering anything too exotic. All that being said, the food was very good, and unique. I did find it to be a tad salty and greasy for my liking, but overall, I had no issues with the food, and found it enjoyable. The wait time and prices will probably keep this place from being somewhere I would frequent, but I still think it is worth trying if you are in the area and looking for something different.
