I waited 30 minutes inside for a 5$ meal. And this happens every time I go inside this mc donalds in Durand, I'm not ordering back inside. Best bet is to go through the drive-through and walk your food inside if you want to sit down and eat. The drive-through is normal but they show 0 attention to the counter and inside guests. Used to like going here when I went to school in Durand but as of the last couple years every time I stop in here (once every couple weeks) it is absolutely a joke. VERY slow. Rude and inconsistent. Sometimes it's perfect but most often it's wrong. They can't decide what they want to charge for certain things and I'm often charged for things I shouldn't be or didn't even order. I'm sure they get tired of having to correct things once I get to the window. The staff are poorly trained. They are lucky it's in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise they wouldn't have any business. It irritates me beyond all belief that more times than not they never get the orders right. I always hit the drive-thru when I go and get the same things. 2 McDoubles add mac sauce, and or a caramel mocha and sausage mcgriddle in the morning. CONSISTENTLY I get burgers without the overcharged mac sauce. Thirty cents a squirt, like please, if you are going to be that petty at least remember to put it on the damn burger. The last few times I have gone with others they forget food and the food is cold. I mean it's always cold. For as slow as it usually is when I go and how long I wait, there is no excuse. It's unfortunate because there is nothing else in town to each save for subway. Memorial Day 2013 my husband and I were returning home from an open house and stopped in the McDonalds in Durand, MI. It was 4:40 pm. After using the bathrooms we stood in line to buy a coke for the ride home. After standing in line and not being approached to have our order taken, I waved at a girl (employee at the register). No one will take our order. There were many employees walking around waiting on customers for the drive through, but only another couple waiting for food. At least they had been waited on. No one would acknowledge us. After a few minutes I asked the girl starring at us if she would take our order. (she was standing in front of a register), and she said she was "off." She didn't say, "one moment please, I'll get someone to take your order, nothing to offer any help or explanation to why no one would wait on us. Just, "I'm off." The other couple laughed and rolled their eyes. I walked away and said, "typical Shiawassee County." My husband waited a moment longer, in disbelief at the terrible management, and said he had had enough. "If I never come back to this county, it wouldn't bother him at all." What is up with that! We wanted service and a beverage, and it was if we were invisible. Never, ever will be even waste our time at the McDonalds in Durand, MI again. read more

No fewer than 3 times on 3 separate occasions we were told that the ice cream machine was "down". The drive-thru line is often backed up to the street, which should be an indication of how good the food is, but in this location's case I'm afraid it's just due to really slow service. Last time I was there I sat 15 minutes for a fish sandwich that still had cheese when I requested none. Maybe they're understaffed or just not well-managed.
