On 8/19/19 I placed a drive through Order at 8:17 PM. I knew asking for an ice cream cone would be like playing the lottery because we all know the odds of the machine working is slim to none and I was right. On 8/19/19 I ended up at the same McDonald's do to Panera bread being struck by lightning the night before I placed an order for a number eight which is a six piece chicken strips large I get my order fairly fast but I make it back to my hotel room and I only received three of six chicken tenders. On a busy stretch of one of the main surface streets into Uptown Charlotte, this McDonald's gets a good amount of drive through business. I stopped in on the way home after an errand and instead of the drive through, I opted to go inside. Quite busy and one of the crew was busy cleaning the counter. After that, she needed to spend some time on the floor, which had a penny and two straw wrappers. The drinks and condiments area was clean and well stocked. And then backpedaled and tried to victimize herself once we calmly confronted her. The management should really fire her or put her in extensive customer service classes. So she could learn basic manners and customer service. I've gone to many McDonald's in my life and have never experienced such horrible service. The fries are super burnt as well and the burgers were stale. From that moment she had a manager take over her role as she made coffee. I made complaint to manager. The employee then returned to provide my food and beverage, then as I was exiting store we LOCKED EYES. As I walked through the lobby toward exit, SHE AND I LOCKED EYES EVERY STEP! WHY WOULD SHE FEEL COMPELLED TO LOCK EYES? Tired of her repeated unprofessionalism visit after visit, I exclaimed "Life doesn't have to be difficult" and completed with "bitch" because that is an EXACT description of her! She went to strike me but the manager held her back. THIS EMPLOYEE MUST BE REMOVED!" Additionally, which was left off the website's complaint, I feel it should be noted that my roommate refuses to visit the store because the identical employee provides his service with identical drama. I did the drive-thru on a weekend morning, granted I think everyone likes to do that as well (judging from the instantaneous line that formed behind me as I was placing my order). I'm not sure if the double drive through stations work here (kind of like the double gas pumps where the person in front has to pull all the way through, but if they stop at the first one... the whole point of the extra station is null and void). The person taking my order was nice enough... I'm not sure if they've gotten yelled at for forgetting cream and sugar in coffee (or in the bag)... but they asked me repeatedly if I wanted cream and sugar with my "black" coffee. Its good to make sure, but it's also a little annoying when you say you like your coffee "straight up black" and they still want to give you cream and sugar. (sigh). Whoever yelled at these ladies at this McDonalds location, must have done a good job since they want to now add cream and sugar to black coffee. But that was my only "sang" in my drive through experience. I myself have not had the pleasure of working at any drive-thru establishment, but I would probably be fired for throwing food at people in their cars. A little respect goes a long way. Yes, it's the service industry, but in my experience good service usually is given to those that are kind enough to earn it. I'm sure this location is crazy busy since it's located right near I-77 and Tryon. Typical McDonalds..... they have updated the outside, so it is now a typical "modern-looking" McDonalds. read more

I was at Wendy's next door and sat in the drive through for half my lunch and barely moved up but the McDonald's was dead. No line or anything. So I decided to head over there instead. I get to the ordering area on my motorcycle (due to the inside of everywhere being closed) and placed my order for 2 10 piece chicken nuggets, a mcchicken and a McDouble for myself and a coworker. The person taking my order was pretty pleasant and had my order right. However..... When I get the food I put it in by backpack and don't check it because it seemed right for the most part with the size of the bag and what I could feel. I get back to the office and open it all up and the chicken nuggets were severely overcooked. Very dark brown. I tried one and it was cooked to a crisp. Then I switch over to the mcchicken that I got for myself (McDouble and other nugget for a coworker, which their food was basically the same as mine overcooked to the point that they are hard to chew) and it's the exact same as the nuggets. Hard to even bite into because how over cooked it was. I would get it if they were really busy and maybe lost track of time and left them in to long but in this situation they were dead. No reason for my food I paid almost $9 for to be this overcooked. Beware of this place they suck. read more

Stopped here yesterday on my way home from work for a rare tasty treat. I ordered fries and a chocolate chip frappe. The fries were excellent, hot and fresh. The frappe was terrible!!!! It was 1/4+ cup of chocolate chips after I was done with it. Lord only knows how much of them I sucked up the straw. At first I thought it was just thick, but when I opened the lid it was almost half full of chips. When I got the cup it was sticky and very messy. Will not order one again. read more

The one thing I have to comment on is that I hate the new automatic response on the drive through. "Hi, Welcome to McDonald's. Would you like to try our hot chocolate today?" Then there is a pause... and you get a real person. "Hi, can I take your order?" Um... No I don't want a hot chocolate... it's July! Why would I want a hot chocolate? Oh... and if you place your order at the first drive through order box, and you pull up to the second one, because you're behind someone you'll go through the same ordeal all over again and then you'll have to explain to the lady on the other end that you've already placed your order.
