I'm visiting from Texas. Man! Everywhere I searched named this joint as a top place for a burger in…read moreCanton. This place is pretty full of itself about its burgers with very little reason to be. "Geourmet burgers" my tail. I showed up right at five and was one of the first patrons in the door. The place is your typical bar... dark... with a huge ovular bar with the bartenders working within. I bet the ovular bar seats a minimum of 50. Some tables along the one wall. I ordered the '59 classic, added bacon. Upgraded my fries to the pigskin cowboy (bacon and cheese added, side of ranch). What came out was underwhelming. I'm big on burger proportions, but this patty, although well cooked (medium throughout) was smaller than the bun, which made for an awkward ratio. The patty felt like something commercially pre-formed and possibly made from frozen. The fries were not crispy...and I'm not sure how they added the cheese...but the side became one large ball of soggy fries glued together with barely melted cheese... Overall: service fast and friendly, but I'm not sure Ohioans know a good burger. It was just okay, bordering on disappointing.

They aren't trying to be trendy (which is refreshing!) and there is just such a sense of nostalgia here. I've never tried their food, but they have a massive sundae menu and everything I've tried, ice cream wise, has been good. The peanut butter cup ice cream is my favorite (milk chocolate base with chunks of peanut butter throughout) and their hot fudge is great. Most sundaes have two sizes (large and small) and their large still isn't quite what I'd consider "large" but I have no real qualms. Service was good as well on my most recent visit. Definitely worth a sundae stop in!
